Dok je obnavljao staru farmu u Iowi, Sam otkriva vremenski portal u podrumu koji ga transportira u 1919. godinu.
Transcript
00:00Jack's brother and Sam Taylor get out of their truck and arrive at the old house, inspired by Victorian style.
00:06Jack marvels at the beauty of the house, while Sam focuses more on his Tinder application.
00:10Jack calls his brother in the staircase and says that the clients want the house to be renovated in its full glory.
00:15Sam asks him where to start, and Jack tells him that he first has to find a fuse because the house has no electricity.
00:21Because of that, the two of them go to the basement looking for a fuse.
00:24Jack turns on the light and sees an old barometer attached to the wall.
00:28While he's looking at it, Sam gets a message from a girl asking him if he's free that evening.
00:32That's why he asks Jack when he's going to finish, because he has a meeting he has to go to.
00:36That evening, Sam arrives at the bar and introduces himself to his girlfriend Francesca.
00:40He apologizes later and says that Jack is to blame for that.
00:44Francesca asks him if he often blames his brother, so he tells her how Jack is a tyrant since he's with his husband in his baby.
00:50Francesca is interested, so Sam shows her a picture of Jack's family.
00:54The next day, Francesca brings Sam to the old Victorian house where Jack is waiting for him.
00:59Sam gets out of the car and greets Francesca.
01:02Jack comes in and asks him if he's thinking about constantly joining him in the restoration of the house.
01:07However, Sam tells him that he has other dreams.
01:10But Jack tells him that he has to fix his life,
01:12saying that his last plan for success was to look for a baseball card from Honus Wegner at a garage sale that he sold for a million dollars.
01:19Sam laughs and says that it's still a good plan,
01:22but Jack is stubborn and says that he has to find a purpose in life.
01:25After a while, the two of them start fighting over the restoration of the house,
01:29pulling pieces of old wood, removing the boards from the floor and screwing in the screws.
01:33They replace the old floors with new ones while they work tirelessly, and the daylight slowly disappears.
01:38As night falls, Sam removes a large piece of wood and sees a small handle hidden under it.
01:43He looks closer and pulls the handle upwards, discovering a small compartment.
01:47Inside is an old box for biscuits that Sam immediately opens.
01:50It contains old matches with the inscription Cabbage on a Wheel and a photo of a beautiful woman.
01:55Sam looks at the photo and immediately feels a connection to it.
01:59But alarm bells begin to ring, signaling that the storm is approaching.
02:03Because of this, Jack and Sam rush out and take all the construction material home.
02:07As they prepare for the storm, electricity disappears, so Sam goes to the basement to fix the fuse.
02:12But as he goes to the fuse, he hears a loud, deafening sound that forces him to fall on his knees and cover his ears,
02:18until the fuse on the barometer begins to rotate.
02:20He feels a strong headache as the sound pierces his ears and does not stop ringing in his head.
02:25Suddenly the sound stops and Sam notices that the fuse has been repaired.
02:28He climbs the stairs to tell Jack, but surprisingly he sees the house in perfect condition and filled with furniture.
02:34Sam walks around completely confused and hears a woman singing while playing the piano.
02:38He approaches, but the woman sees his expression and immediately grabs the vase to protect herself.
02:43Sam is immediately recognized as a beautiful woman with an old photo.
02:46But the woman asks if he's from the bank and tells him to go because he's falling into their trap.
02:50Sam tries to tell her about his brother Jack and how they renovated this house, but the woman doesn't listen to him.
02:55That's why Sam ignores her and runs to the stairs to ask for Jack.
02:59The woman follows him and puts a gun in him, bragging that she'll shoot him if he doesn't tell her why he's there.
03:03But he still goes next to her and goes down to the basement.
03:06The woman sees her mother coming through the window and immediately tells Sam to go if she loves life because her mother looks like a snake.
03:13That's why Sam goes out to the back door while his mother enters the house.
03:17The older woman calls her son-in-law Evelyn and asks if someone is with her, which she doesn't answer.
03:22His mother laughs and says that the hostage William bought Halina for their hostage fun.
03:27Then she hugs Evelyn and tells her that Halina belongs to her.
03:30In the meantime, Sam walks around the city and is shocked by its rustic design.
03:34He comes to the sign to look at it up close and discovers that it was made in 1919.
03:39In the house, Evelyn takes the records hidden in the walls and plays them on the gramophone.
03:43She sits at the table and sings along with the music.
03:46Unfortunately, her mother hears that and tells Evelyn to give the records because her hostage doesn't like that song.
03:51But Evelyn refuses, saying that they belong to her brother Emmet.
03:54Her mother says that Emmet is dead, which is why they went bankrupt, and that Evelyn has to go after William to save herself.
04:01Evelyn reluctantly gives the records to her mother when Sam suddenly appears and introduces himself as Emmet's friend.
04:07He tells her that he had previously given the records to their son and that he wants to return them.
04:10Evelyn agrees with his story, saying that Sam is a doctor and that he was Emmet's colleague at medical school.
04:16Her mother trusts him and gives him the records.
04:19Then she calls Sam to the hostage fun, but he says he's just passing by.
04:23Her mother leaves, and Sam returns Evelyn's records.
04:25She thanks him for helping her, but Sam seems uninterested because he keeps asking for something.
04:30Evelyn asks him what he's doing, so Sam tells her that he's from 2019 and that he's trying to get back home.
04:36Evelyn laughs at him, so Sam takes out a picture of her that he found in the future.
04:40Evelyn is completely confused and says that she doesn't have her photo yet.
04:44Sam tells her that he will have it someday, and asks her if there is anything strange about their house.
04:49Evelyn tells him that her grandfather built the house 40 years ago and that she can meet him at her hostage fun.
04:55That evening, Sam arrives with Evelyn at her hostage fun.
04:58She introduces him to her grandfather Warren, and Sam immediately asks him if there is anything strange about the basement he built,
05:04because he heard ringing when he was there during the fun.
05:06A man named Henry Barrett answers him, saying that the temperature drops during the fun, which is the reason why he hears ringing.
05:12Sam wants to ask one more question, but William shakes his glass and calls his hostage.
05:18Evelyn comes to him, and the pianist starts playing his instrument.
05:21The two of them start dancing, and William tells Evelyn that he arranged a date for her photographing.
05:26Evelyn then realizes that what Sam said about photographing is true.
05:30The music stops, and the dance ends.
05:32Evelyn comes to Sam and says that what he said about photographing is true,
05:36but Sam tells her that she has to talk to Henry about the noise that causes the ringing.
05:41Evelyn says that Henry has already left, and asks him if he wants to walk with her, because William is busy taking care of his children.
05:48Sam agrees to it.
05:49The two of them continue to walk the streets, where Evelyn constantly asks Sam about what the future looks like.
05:55He tells her about the speakers and how they make it possible for the house to always be filled with music.
05:59Evelyn smiles and says that she wants to experience it.
06:02Sam stops when he sees a bar across the street, saying that the place seems familiar to him.
06:07Evelyn then tells him that the bar has an underground club that requires a ticket to enter.
06:11Sam takes her inside, and tells the bartender the word cabbage, which is why the bartender takes her to a secret room.
06:16The two of them go down the stairs and see a bunch of people dancing to live music.
06:20They come to the bar to order a drink, where Sam notices the same glasses he found in the house.
06:25He takes one packet and puts it in his bag.
06:28Sam then notices how Evelyn enjoys the music, so he invites her to dance.
06:32Evelyn agrees, and the two of them begin to dance on the dance floor.
06:35When the song ends, Sam suggests that she go out on the dance floor and sing the song.
06:39Evelyn laughs at it and says it's not good.
06:42But Sam suggests throwing the money to decide if they want to sing or not.
06:46Evelyn agrees, so Sam takes the money and throws it.
06:49Sam runs away and comes to the bar to tell the singer about Evelyn.
06:52Then he goes away, and Evelyn goes to the bar and starts singing beautifully.
06:56The audience laughs when Evelyn finishes singing.
06:59After a while, the two of them leave the pub, and Sam tells her how wonderful it was at the bar and how much the audience loved her.
07:05Evelyn laughs and tells him that she didn't look at the audience.
07:08Unfortunately, her mother sees them and immediately scolds Evelyn.
07:11Sam tries to find an excuse, but her mother doesn't believe him and takes Evelyn away.
07:15The next day, Sam goes to Hendy's house to ask him more about the pipes.
07:19Hendy takes him to his bar and shows him the barometer, saying that the needle will fall if it comes to a strong pipe.
07:25Sam tells him that during the pipe he tried, the pipe completely turned.
07:29Hendy says that the strong pipe is called Derek, and that the last one was so strong that it broke the door with the bar.
07:35Sam asks him if he can fix the barometer, but Hendy refuses, so Sam tells him that he can fix his door if he is given a barometer for the wound.
07:43Hendy thinks about it, but eventually accepts his offer.
07:46Later, Evelyn packs her things when Sam arrives.
07:49She tells him to go, because she will run away from everything.
07:51Sam stops her, saying that he knows how to get them back in 2019.
07:56Evelyn is confused and asks why she should go to the future.
07:59Sam tells her that she deserves to be happy and choose who she wants to marry, which will allow her to leave for the future.
08:05Evelyn looks Sam in the right eye and kisses him.
08:08After that, Evelyn says that the wedding is in 10 days, so Sam tells her that the storm is coming.
08:13He then goes to the basement and puts the barometer on the wall.
08:16Days pass while the two of them wait for the storm to come.
08:18Evelyn stays in William's house while Sam continues to fix Hendy's door.
08:23At night, the two of them briefly see each other to kiss.
08:26Unfortunately for them, William sees Sam leaving his house, which causes his doubts.
08:31One day, Evelyn wears her wedding dress while taking pictures.
08:34William tells her to stay calm so that the photographer could take a perfect picture of her.
08:39Evelyn agrees and invites him to take a picture.
08:42Suddenly, he hears a rumble from outside, so he tells the photographer that he has a headache and leaves.
08:46He goes outside in the middle of the storm and goes to the basement with Sam.
08:49While looking at the barometer, William and his people arrive.
08:52He tells Evelyn that he has always known about her secret relationship.
08:56But Evelyn says that she never liked him and that their relationship is because of money.
09:00William explains and orders his people to separate them.
09:03He grabs Evelyn and takes her away while his people beat Sam in the basement.
09:07The barometer turns while people leave, returning Sam to the present.
09:11He immediately climbs the stairs, shouting Evelyn's name.
09:14Sam sees Jake and starts yelling at him until he realizes that he is no longer in 1919.
09:19After a while, he shows Jake proof that he really went in the past and met a woman named Evelyn.
09:25He shows him the matches, but Jake doesn't believe him and tells him to go home.
09:29But Sam tells him to stay because he has to find a way to get Evelyn back.
09:33Jake respects his decision and leaves him alone.
09:35Later, Sam searches on his phone for Derek, who happened in 1919
09:40and is horrified when he sees Evelyn's name on the list of the dead or missing.
09:44The next day, Sam listens to the news about Derek and finds out that the next one is expected in 10 to 15 years.
09:50He can't wait that long, so he has to go back to the past using the current Derek.
09:55Later that day, Jake invites Sam to dinner with them because his daughter wants to see her lawyer.
10:00But Sam refuses, saying that he can't go because Derek could catch up with him.
10:04Suddenly, sirens are announced, causing Sam to run into the basement and face the barometer.
10:09Jake turns around and takes him to another time frame,
10:12when Sam comes out of the basement surprised because the house looks different.
10:15The decorations are modern, and there is a birthday cake on the table.
10:19Sam climbs the stairs, where he notices a poster with Evelyn on the wall.
10:23Then he hears her voice singing and follows the sound of her voice.
10:26Sam checks through the open door and sees Evelyn singing a lullaby to his son Sam,
10:31for which he begins to cry.
10:32He leaves, but bumps into the stairs, scaring Evelyn and her son.
10:37Sam goes to the barometer and returns to the present.
10:40He immediately notices the change in the basement and asks his brother about it.
10:43Jake tells him that it is the wine cellar that the client asked him to build.
10:47Sam tries to destroy it, but Jake stops him,
10:49so he tells him that he saw Evelyn in the future with their son,
10:53and if the wine cellar is not removed, that future will not happen.
10:56Jake looks at him and signs a contract with Sam,
10:58saying that he will help remove the wine cellar if he agrees to go to the client after that.
11:03Sam agrees, so the brothers remove the cellar.
11:05But when Jake enters the room to put a piece of wood away,
11:08Sam locks the door behind him and goes to the barometer to return in 1919.
11:13When Sam arrives in the past, the cellar is completely flooded with water.
11:17He goes upstairs and starts looking for Evelyn, but he can't find her.
11:20So Sam goes to William's house, where he finally finds her.
11:24The two of them then run through the meadow and go to the basement,
11:26where they see a water well in the middle of the basement.
11:28As they climb down the stairs, a large piece of wood falls on Sam's injured leg.
11:33They try to remove it, but the wood is too heavy.
11:35Sam tells Evelyn to go, saying that he was in the future and saw Evelyn with her son.
11:40She laughs, thinking that he is the boy's father.
11:43But Sam tells her that he is probably not, and that he is doomed to die in this flood.
11:47Evelyn refuses to live without Sam, so she tries to remove the wood again.
11:51Unfortunately, she slips and falls into the water.
11:54Sam grabs her hand and looks into her eyes.
11:56Then he says his last words to Evelyn,
11:59I love you, but it's time to let go.
12:01As their hands separate, Evelyn turns in the water and finds herself in the future.
12:05She opens the door and looks at Jake, but ignores him as he tries to find Sam in the room.
12:10Jake then goes down to the basement and looks at Evelyn as he slowly realizes what happened.
12:14After a while, Jake brings clothes to pull Evelyn over,
12:18and they say that Sam loves her because he talks about her all the time.
12:21Evelyn asks him what Sam said, but Jake tells her that he didn't really say what he said, but how he said it.
12:26He tells him that Sam talked about his love for singing and his music records.
12:31So Evelyn tells him that she hid the records in the walls that day when she and Sam met.
12:36Jake looks around and says that the basement is original and that her records are probably still in the wall.
12:41They break a piece of wood from the wall and find two letters from Sam written on them.
12:46Both are happy because they know that Sam survived the flood.
12:49Jake leaves the basement and Evelyn opens the letter.
12:52It says that Sam didn't die in the basement and that his father tried to return to her, but he said he never came.
12:58Sam tells her that he has finally found a place where he feels comfortable and that he belongs to the past as much as he belongs to the future.
13:04Sam finishes his letter, telling Evelyn to stop looking for him because his life is here and he has to live it.
13:10In the meantime, Jake opens his letter and the only thing he writes is,
13:14It's time to build your own house.
13:16He turns the baseball card attached to him and sees that it is a rare Honus Wagner card worth more than a million dollars.
13:22In 1919, Sam opened a box of biscuits and put Evelyn's picture and a packet of matches inside.
13:28Then he puts the box of biscuits in a secret compartment in the fireplace.
13:31Sam also has his own construction business, so everything ends well.
13:35In the future, Evelyn's son asks her if anyone is on the steps, but she tells him that there is no one.
13:41While her son is sleeping, Evelyn rushes to the steps to see if there is anyone.
13:45With tears in her eyes, it is clear that their love has continued.
