Would banning free refills help make us healthier?

Free refills on drinks are often a welcome sight for people at restaurants, but that might soon be banned for people across wales as the Welsh government look to clamp down on unhealthy foods and drinks. Some people welcome the move, while others see it as a restriction of free choice, so we find out what the people of Cardiff have to say about it.

00:00Maybe cut down on the sugar, it would be better rather than banning them, but you know I can't
00:06see how a ban, somebody else will take its place, so I would say cut down on the sugar,
00:11yeah definitely.
00:12The kids love drinks don't they, they're taking drinks off kids, one drink's no good for the
00:16kid and there's no money above anything so they can get free drinks now, why not?
00:22I think their education would have to come first, like sort of you need a strong foundation
00:27to implement something, so I think education comes first.
00:31My brothers are obsessed with, well they used to, but then they realised how unhealthy it
00:35was and then, yeah, so then I tried it once and it was not for me, it's too bit, it literally
00:41tasted like sugar and nothing else, yeah no it's bad though, the crime I'd say.
00:48Rubbish about, no, I don't think a little drink will hurt the kids, I dunno, I don't
00:54think it'll hurt the kids, a drink myself personally.
00:57I think it could, because it cuts, it's like, well it just stops people from like getting
01:03unhealthy and being taught, really making responsible choices in school, you know, and
01:08from your parents, you know, I was, but, you know, there's always going to be something
01:16else to take its place, so you know, let's give people choices and, you know, and educate
01:22them on, you know, the good and the bad.
01:25You need a choice, like obviously when you are choosing the healthy thing, you feel good
01:30about yourself, but when you're forced down a road, it's kind of like, woah, you know,
01:37so it's good to have a choice, it's like, it's good to have a balance.
01:41You see McDonalds at the Friday Inn and things like that, and she had played them food in
01:46these restaurants, it's heart attack food, I think, but still, when a young child starts
01:55that way, it's not a good sign.
