00:08evacuated over the weekend have now been allowed to return to their homes. On Friday an assault
00:13took place on Derby Road in the town centre where a man allegedly threw a substance over
00:18another man. The man was taken to hospital but later discharged. This led officers to
00:23search a property on Kingsley Avenue where a number of suspicious items were discovered.
00:29Emergency services were called to the scene while searches were concluded and the road
00:32was closed. 35 homes were evacuated as a safety precaution and a rest centre was established
00:38at Queen's Park Leisure Centre for residents. Yesterday however they were allowed to return
00:43back home. Robert Spinks aged 51 of Kingsley Avenue has been charged with wounding and
00:49possession of an offensive weapon. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear
00:53in court today. Police are appealing for dash cam footage after two bikers were killed
01:00in a fatal crash in Derbyshire over the weekend. The incident which occurred at 1.35pm on Saturday
01:06saw two motorcyclists travelling in opposite directions on the A621 between Baslow and
01:12Ola Bar collide with one another. Both of the riders aged 54 and 57 died at the scene.
01:19The road remained closed until 4.15pm on Sunday to allow officers from the Collision
01:23Investigation Unit to conclude their investigations. Those officers are now appealing for any drivers
01:29with dash cam footage from the area that may have shown either of the vehicles a red and
01:34black Suzuki or a grey Kawasaki to get in touch. Anyone with information is asked to
01:39contact the force, quoting reference 24 asterisk 430 866.
