Transcript
00:00Again, Connor Gormley here for Sussex World and this is your daily news bulletin where I run you
00:05through all of our biggest stories across both East and West Sussex today. Hastings Pirate Day
00:11was as usual a real spectacle over the weekend, cementing its place as one of the most colourful
00:16events in historic town's calendar. The event has been taking place since about 2009 and residents
00:22all over Hastings get in on the fun with bright costumes and jolly Roger flags flying overhead.
00:28It even holds the world record once held by Penzance for the highest number of pirates in
00:33one place. We've got about 70 photos on the website and they're all great fun and really
00:38worth looking at. Worth checking if you can see your friends, it might be a lovely way,
00:43maybe a lovely thing to tag them in for example. Claudia Winkleman has been spotted at Brighton
00:49Railway Station as she continues her search for the world's most exciting amateur pianists for
00:53season three of Channel 4's The Piano. In the show, amateur pianists are invited to play at
00:58some of the nation's busiest railway stations, all before an end of series concert hall at the Royal
01:04Albert Hall. A second little superstore is set to open in Worthing later this year. The new shop
01:10will be built at Downlands Retail Farm near Lions Farm just off the A27 and recent pictures suggest
01:16it could be nearing completion. A spokesperson said the store will open in late summer so there's
01:21not long to wait now and they'll release more specific opening dates closer to the time. That's
01:26all from me for today, but for more news from across both East and West Sussex do make sure to
01:30visit our website, follow us on social media and buy your local newspaper each and every week.
01:35Thanks very much for listening.
