House Speaker Martin Romualdez gives marching orders to House leaders and top secretariat officials to introduce a measure to ban Philippine offshore gaming operators or POGOs in the country.

00:17and he requested all the committee chairs concerned to make it a priority.
00:21Romualdez wants the enabling law to cover, quote, all bases of the total ban on POGOs
00:26to make it a legacy of President Marcos.
00:29Romualdez initially did not favor a total ban.
00:33The change comes after Marcos, in his third State of the Nation address, ordered the Philippine
00:37Amusement and Gaming Corporation to wind down and cease the operations of POGOs by the end
00:43of 2024.
