00:00The Niners have a much bigger problem than the Cowboys.
00:04They don't have a bunch of guys reporting.
00:07And it seems like the Niners do this every year, right, Scotty?
00:09I guess that's the price of having a lot of good players.
00:13Eventually, you've got to pay them all.
00:14We've talked about Brandon Ayuk for what seems like months.
00:18He's there, but he did not practice today.
00:22I saw some video of him walking around, not doing much.
00:25And then Trent Williams, their left tackle,
00:28also, Scotty, has gone into the holdout realm,
00:32as he is not at 49er camp this afternoon.
00:36Here's general manager John Lynch.
00:39He says Ayuk's going to practice.
00:41This was last night.
00:42He was wrong. Ayuk didn't practice today.
00:44Do you know yet whether he'll practice once he reports?
00:48We expect all our players to practice.
00:51John, last year, you gave us an absolute
00:53that Boston would not be traded.
00:55Would you make that same statement about Brandon?
00:57Well, Kyle and I always, you know, we kind of...
01:01I did say that with Bosa.
01:03That's a no. I felt that way.
01:04But, you know, I think, again, no absolutes there.
01:09Wow.
01:10We fully intend on Brandon being a Niner moving forward.
01:14We're always open to listen to things.
01:17But, like I said, we expect Brandon
01:19to be an integral part of our team,
01:21like he has been, and excited about that.
01:24He sounded like Pete Carroll
01:26when he was talking about players.
01:28He's like, yeah, we fully intend on him being here.
01:32That's been our intent all along, and then they trade him.
01:35I'll tell you this much.
01:36It is some level of comfort knowing that he's there.
01:41He's not, like, not showing up at all.
01:44When they don't show up at all,
01:46and their agent keeps them away from the camp,
01:49away from the facility, away from the team and the players,
01:52then they just aren't doing a deal,
01:55and then they would trade him.
01:57But he's there, and it just seems to me,
02:00still at this outset,
02:02that they haven't been able to come to terms on a number.
02:06I think it's about money, and, I mean,
02:08everything's about money, but, I mean,
02:09I think this situation is that he's there,
02:12and I think they're close.
02:14They just don't have the deal done yet,
02:17and I firmly believe it's more weighted there
02:20than a trade, don't you?
02:24It certainly seems like it,
02:25and I think you're picking up the right scent in that.
02:28Why would he be there, you know,
02:30hanging around on the side of the practice field,
02:32watching everybody work,
02:33if something wasn't eventually going to happen?
02:37So, I think that there definitely is something there.
02:40Now, Williams is another story.
02:41It sounds like Williams didn't show up at all.
02:44He's the best player.
02:46He's the most important player.
02:48No question about that.
02:51Did you see this other story that Kyle Shanahan
02:54called Bill Belichick after he was, of course,
02:57fired from the New England Patriots
02:59and did not get a job anywhere else as a head coach
03:02and offered him anything that he wanted to do with the team,
03:06including the defensive coordinator gigs,
03:08and whatever you want to do, I'll have the doors open.
03:10Bill, of course, politely declined, Scotty, to work there.
03:14Well, I probably would, too,
03:16if I was sleeping with a 24-year-old.
03:19I mean, if I was getting some of that action like he is,
03:22who needs a job?
03:23He's got millions.
03:25He's got tons of money,
03:26and he's got a hot little girlfriend.
03:28Like, I mean, he sounds like he's living it up.
03:31He's living it up, and he's going to, you know,
03:33get a taste of that nice, cushy TV gig this year.
03:36You better believe he's getting a taste.
03:38Man, he's got it all going.
03:41He's also going to get to live
03:43that cushy TV gig life this year.
03:45Not the coaching life.
03:47The TV gig life.
03:48Inside the NFL.
03:50Here's an hour here.
03:52There's 20 minutes here.
03:54Here's a half hour here.
03:56And like you said, he's got plenty of time, then,
03:58to go and do other things.
04:01Plenty of money, plenty of time.
04:02He can do whatever he wants.
04:03He can go to an ice cream store.
04:06The Niners, of course, coming into this year,
04:08I've got, I believe, all the team action.
04:11Look at that for the Niners.
04:12With the win total, 11 and a half,
04:15minus 200 to win the division,
04:17plus 650 to win the Super Bowl.
04:19That's the highest in the NFC.
04:22I mean, you know, I got to tell you,
04:24like, I'll never forget the Lions choking in that game.
04:29So I want nothing more than for them to lose
04:32as much as possible.
04:33Like, I don't want to, they got five Super Bowls.
04:37I don't want them to get six.
04:39And that's just all there is to it.
04:41So screw all those futures.
04:43Screw their 11 and a half.
04:45Screw them.
04:46I hope that IU doesn't sign
04:48and that his agent is the biggest D
04:50in the world to John Lynch.
