00:09Goa Musang Amno Chief Tengku Razali Hamzah has denied telling DAP to stay out of the

00:14Ngeri by-election in Kelantan next month.

00:17Tengku Razali, also known as Kuli, simply said there was no need for DAP to campaign

00:22for the August 17 by-election.

00:25He explained that during a discussion, the question came up about whether DAP leaders

00:29should be invited to campaign for Barisan Nasional Candidate Asmawi Fikri Abdungani.

00:34I said, what do you want DAP leaders here for?

00:38Most of them are non-Malays.

00:40This is 100% Malay constituency.

00:44So, that is the reason.

00:47It stops there.

00:48Tengku Razali, who is Amno's director for the by-election, said he was subsequently

00:53asked if he would stop some people from coming.

00:56I said, not necessary.

00:58They need not come, I said.

01:01I'm making a pointed statement when I don't think there's a need for DAP to go there.

01:09DAP is not contesting.

01:11There's no controversy, there's nothing.

01:14On Thursday, a news portal reported that Tengku Razali had urged DAP to stay out of the upcoming

01:20by-election.

01:21However, BN has denied allegations that it does not want its members or key allies in

01:25the unity government to speak at rallies during its Nguniwi by-election campaign.

01:30It described the claim as political maneuvers intended to divide the unity government.
