00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for infamous incidents of rude,
00:13entitled, and hostile people, better known as Karen's.
00:17We'll see what havoc they caused and the delightful and much-deserved consequences
00:22that wrecked their lives in one form or another.
00:31Number 50.
00:33Spanish Slander It's amazing how some Karens get ticked
00:37off simply by hearing a non-English language.
00:40In 2023, while collecting an order from Amy's Pizzeria in Hattboro, Pennsylvania, Rita
00:46Balew heard Spanish on the TV.
01:00This was enough to cause Balew to bellow anti-Spanish rhetoric at the restaurant's co-owner.
01:06She threatened to have him removed from the area and claimed he was an illegal immigrant.
01:11To top it off, Balew declared speaking Spanish was insulting to the U.S. as her father served
01:18in World War II.
01:19Right.
01:20In 2024, Balew was sentenced for harassment and ethnic intimidation, receiving 90 days
01:26of probation and 8 hours of community service.
01:29The rant went on for several minutes, but throughout it all, Omar remained calm.
01:42Number 49.
01:44Kentucky Karen In 2022, Kyla Spring was working the night
01:49shift at a campus dormitory at the University of Kentucky.
01:53It was a nice and uneventful time, until an intoxicated Sofia Roesing walked in to ruin
01:58everything with her white privilege.
02:08After Spring denied Roesing entry for refusing to show her ID, she attacked the worker, even
02:14throwing in racial slurs.
02:17When the police arrived, Roesing told them she had lots of money and got special treatment.
02:22Then she attacked them as well, even biting one of the officers, resulting in her arrest.
02:28Roesing was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, third-degree
02:33assault of a police officer, fourth-degree assault, and disorderly conduct.
02:38After the incident went viral, the college banned Roesing from the campus and re-enrolling.
02:44In 2023, despite the video evidence, she pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
02:50Number 48.
02:54In 2023, a group of German tourists were chit-chatting on the train to New York City.
03:00For most people, this would be fine.
03:02But Brianna Penix isn't like most people.
03:06After overhearing the group speak German, the intoxicated passenger launched into a
03:10furious rant against the group.
03:14Seemingly unaware of the existence of such a thing as tourists, Penix told the immigrants
03:20to get out of her country.
03:22Penix's poor partner pleaded with her to stop, or he wouldn't speak to her again.
03:27He even mentioned she knows that he's an immigrant.
03:36Yikes.
03:37Due to her xenophobic tirade, Penix's employers, capital R-X, publicly fired the talent acquisition
03:44specialist.
03:45In 2024, she released a website promoting her employment history that mentions her compassion.
03:52Many, many times.
03:54Number 47.
03:55H-E-B Havoc.
03:57It should be pretty clear that using the 10-items-or-less line at a store, you shouldn't have over that
04:04figure.
04:05However, in 2023, Linda Uka ignored this.
04:17At an H-E-B store in Spring, Texas, she was livid after not being allowed to use the self-checkout
04:24due to excess produce.
04:26Did she leave it alone and go home quietly?
04:29Of course not.
04:30Uka returned to the store later with a friend.
04:33They shockingly attacked the employee who stopped her from using the self-checkout.
04:42The duo then left, but were identified and arrested later.
04:46On top of being banned from H-E-B properties in Harris County, Uka was also charged with
04:51misdemeanor assaults.
04:53Number 46.
04:55The Color Homophobia.
04:56In 2019, Sayi Omuba was set to be in the stage play The Color Purple in the UK.
05:04I don't know if I could even play it.
05:05It was such an amazing story and there's so much depth to it that I was worried.
05:10I was like, am I worthy of playing such an amazing character?
05:13However, that all came crashing down when her past homophobic views were exposed on
05:19social media by actor Aaron Lee Lamberts.
05:23Omuba was meant to play the role of Selly, who has a lesbian relationship in the source
05:27material, although Omuba denied the character was a lesbian.
05:31Due to the backlash, not only did the production drop Omuba from the role, but her agency also
05:37washed its hands of her.
05:39In 2021, suing because she claimed she was discriminated against due to her religion,
05:45Omuba lost a tribunal and was ordered to pay legal costs amounting to over £300,000.
05:50If I have to go through this situation so that other Christians don't have to, in the
05:59long run, that they can be Christians and still perform on stage and they can be vocal
06:03about their faith and their belief system.
06:05Number 45.
06:06Millionaire Slavers.
06:08You don't get much more entitled than forcing people to be slaves.
06:12In 2007, a woman was found on the streets in a disheveled state.
06:17The trial has helped bring to light the vulnerability of illegal immigrants to the US who are often
06:22forced to work as domestic help as it's one of the few jobs that those who are without
06:27a work permit can get.
06:29She, along with another woman, had been forced to work as housekeepers at the Long Island,
06:34New York home of millionaire couple Varsha and Mahinder Sabnani.
06:38The two women had been subjected to horrible abuse over several years after the wealthy
06:43couple took their passports.
06:45When the woman was rescued, it led to the Sabnani's being arrested.
06:49In 2008, Mahinder was sentenced to three and a half years in jail and fined $12,500.
06:55Varsha, who the women say was responsible for the abuse, was sentenced to 11 years.
07:01The prosecution stressed the shocking fact that this did not happen in the 1800s.
07:07This happened in the 21st century in New York.
07:11Number 44.
07:12Pool Patrol Paula In 2018, teenager Darshawn Rocklemore Simmons
07:18was invited by a friend to a community swimming pool in Somerville, South Carolina.
07:23Rather than having a fun time in the water on a hot day, he was accosted by Stephanie
07:28Sebi Strempel.
07:34She was filmed telling the teens they didn't belong there and even assaulted them.
07:38The victims also stated she used racial slurs against them.
07:43When the police arrived, Sebi Strempel made it even worse on herself by shoving one into
07:48a wall and biting another on the arm.
08:02Due to her vile actions, Sebi Strempel was dropped as an independent consultant for skin
08:07care company Rodan and Fields.
08:09After pleading guilty to her charges, Sebi Strempel was fined $1,000.
08:15Number 43.
08:16Hate Mail Barrage Suzanne Kraft was a nightmare neighbor for
08:21folk living near her in Louisville, Kentucky.
08:24With a history of targeting non-white residents by spray-painting racist imagery and slurs
08:29on their property, she turned her attention to an interracial couple.
08:44In 2020, after Kraft ignored a no-contact order multiple times and saw legal consequences,
08:51she began mailing the household hate-filled letters threatening their lives.
08:55To add further intimidation, some even contained bullets.
08:59Due to this and constantly breaking orders, Kraft was arrested for her litany of letters.
09:05In 2023, she was found guilty and sentenced to nine years in jail, followed by three years
09:10of supervised release.
09:17Number 42.
09:19Canada Karen In 2019, Daniela Lise made the dreadful decision
09:24of drinking at a Marilyn Manson concert and then driving back to her neighborhood in London,
09:30Ontario.
09:31She crashed into a house, hitting a gas line.
09:44While she was on fire, the accident set off an explosion that caused $15 million worth
09:50of damages to various buildings.
09:52Thankfully, nobody lost their lives.
09:55However, there were several injuries.
09:58In 2021, Lise was sentenced to three years in jail.
10:10In 2023, upon being issued with several lawsuits, some of which went into the millions, Lise
10:17decided to sue the company that supplied the venue where she got intoxicated during that
10:22fateful night.
10:23Number 41.
10:25Taco Terror In 2023, workers at a Tacos Ortiz stand in
10:30Los Angeles, California were in for a bad shift.
10:35In the past, Renee Latrice Hines had taken food without paying several times.
10:40This time, the staff refused to serve her, which is completely justified.
10:45However, Hines didn't see it that way.
10:55Instead, she had a massive temper tantrum.
10:58On top of screaming abuse, trashing the stand, and physically attacking them with her limbs
11:03and an advertisement board, Hines also used tear gas on the workers.
11:08Unsurprisingly, she was arrested and charged for the assaults.
11:12But the cherry on the justice top was that Hines was fired as a temporary contractor
11:17at Use In Logistics America.
11:34Number 40.
11:36Horse Hitter Karens have a habit of punching down to make
11:39themselves feel superior.
11:41And Sarah Moulds went a step further in 2021, when she took part in the Cottesmore Hunt
11:47in England.
11:48When attempting to get her horse, named Bruce Almighty, into a trailer, Moulds was filmed
11:52hitting and kicking the animal in frustration.
11:55Once the video found its way to the internet, it all went very wrong for Moulds.
12:00On top of being booted from her volunteer role at a pony club and future hunt events,
12:05Moulds also lost her job as a school teacher and was investigated by the animal charity
12:10RSPCA.
12:12She was charged with criminal cruelty but was found not guilty in 2023.
12:18Number 39.
12:19Mace Malice In 2020, after a cop spotted her driving erratically
12:24and indicated she should stop, Karina Weymouth-Bell eventually halted on an off-ramp and proceeded
12:30to make her situation a million times worse.
12:40Weymouth-Bell jumped out of her car and approached the officer with a mace canister in her hand.
12:45After pushing the cop's car door into him and believing her intimidation tactic worked,
12:50Weymouth-Bell went back to her car.
12:59With this opportunity, the officer fired a taser, dropping her to the concrete.
13:04After being taken to the hospital to treat her injuries, Weymouth-Bell was arrested on
13:08several charges including assault and battery on a cop, possessing substances, and driving
13:13without a license.
13:15Number 38.
13:18California Consequences It's bonkers that Karens think spouting racism
13:22publicly is okay and nothing will happen to them.
13:25In 2021, a Twitter user known as Em posted about an incident she experienced in Brentwood,
13:32California.
13:33Em said she was minding her own business on a street when a man came out of his house
13:37and began harassing her.
13:43She started filming and his bigoted views soon tumbled out.
13:47Later identified as Michael Dolson, he criticized her colored hair and threw in some anti-Asian
13:52insults mixed with misogyny.
14:00What a treasure.
14:02As the video spread, Dolson's employers, real estate company Beach City Brokers soon
14:07saw it and made a public statement that he'd been fired for his offensive rant.
14:12Number 37.
14:14Halifax Horror We've all drunk too much at some point and
14:17done silly things.
14:19It happens.
14:20But Justine Morrison couldn't blame the beverages for her atrocious behavior in 2023.
14:30After getting rowdy on a night out at a bar in Halifax, England, Morrison was escorted
14:35from the establishment by the doorman, Dolly Wiley.
14:39When outside, Morrison argued sarcastically with Wiley and spat racial insults at him
14:44using the term black with a sneer.
14:47Unsurprisingly, she was banned from the bar permanently.
14:57After the incident gained attention, her employer, Shine Theatre Arts, fired her from
15:01her part-time accountancy role.
15:04Morrison was also arrested and handed a police caution as long as she accepted responsibility
15:08and took part in a restorative justice program.
15:12Number 36.
15:14Unsolicited Opinions Some people love giving you their opinion
15:18when you don't want or need it.
15:21In 2021, teenager Mia was enjoying the weather with friends at a beach in Fort Collins, Colorado.
15:27Well, Logan Dorn didn't like this.
15:37He decided to tell them their bathing costumes were explicit and used his Christian faith
15:42to try and shame them.
15:44After Mia released her video on the incident, Dorn made a video explaining his actions and
15:49regretted them.
15:50Kidding.
15:51He doubled down and claimed he was filled with righteous anger over their outfits.
15:57In that moment, just a righteous anger to defend and protect young eyes came over me.
16:03And so I just started to speak truth that, hey, you know, what you're wearing is not
16:05okay, that you can't find your worth in your body.
16:08Dorn's employers, the Christian building company Mighty Hand Construction, released a statement
16:13condemning his behavior and fired him after a brief investigation into his harassment.
16:19Number 35.
16:21Underground Ignorance There aren't many that enjoy being on the
16:24underground in London.
16:26Commuters want to get through it with minimal fuss and go about their days.
16:29Well, Jacqueline Woodhouse wasn't going to allow anyone an easy ride in 2012.
16:48The intoxicated Woodhouse went on a massive racist tirade at anyone on the tube that didn't
16:53appear white.
16:54She claimed the country had been overtaken, uttered various stereotypes, and threatened
16:59people with violence.
17:11On top of losing her job over this event, Woodhouse, who was involved in a similar incident
17:16in 2008, was arrested and sentenced up to 21 weeks in jail for her racially charged
17:22Number 34.
17:25Anarchy with the Monarchy Being anti-monarchy is okay in this day and
17:29age, but perhaps taking your royal rage out on a toddler isn't going to influence people
17:34to your views.
17:35In 2016, Angela Gibbons, a senior manager at the charity The British Council, decided
17:41to slander Prince George in a Facebook post that drew a lot of attention from the media.
17:46Since Queen Elizabeth II was a patron of the charity at the time, the firm fired Gibbons
17:50for the scandal.
17:52She took the British Council to a tribunal for unfair dismissal against her Republican
17:56stance.
17:57However, Gibbons' case was dismissed since she insulted a child publicly.
18:02Number 33.
18:04Banking Karen In 2021, with the pandemic in full effect,
18:09many establishments required folk to wear a face mask inside, which was understandable.
18:14But Terry Wright wasn't doing that at a Bank of America branch in Galveston, Texas.
18:19Even after being offered one by the employees, she remained adamant and refused to leave.
18:24So the cops arrived.
18:34But Wright wrongly believed she was on public property and wouldn't exit.
18:38Seeing no option, the officer arrested her.
18:41Amazingly, Wright was heard on the body cam yelling it was police brutality, only for
18:46jaded customers to counter that it wasn't.
18:53Wright even did something similar days later at an office depot in Texas City.
18:58For her bank statement, she received 12 days in prison for trespassing and resisting arrest.
19:04Number 32.
19:05Teacher of Disrespects This might surprise some Karens, but there
19:09are many religions in the world.
19:12Just because you happen to follow one doesn't mean you can be disrespectful to those who
19:16follow another.
19:17In 2022, Muslim students were praying in a room at Franklin Academy in Pembroke Pines,
19:23Florida.
19:24In a video they recorded, an unidentified teacher walked in and interrupted what she
19:33distastefully described as magic.
19:35As well as blowing a whistle and mentioning Jesus, the terrible teacher stood on a prayer
19:39mat and on one of the student's hands.
19:42This hateful act didn't sit well with the school, which fired the teacher.
19:48Number 31.
19:52Mask Tyranny Some Karen politicians think the rules don't
19:55apply to them.
19:56Unfortunately for their egos, they very much do.
20:00In 2021, Alaska State Senator Laura Reinbold, who has a history of spreading pandemic misinformation
20:06and labeling mask mandates as tyranny, was recorded arguing with Alaska Airlines employee
20:12over their face-covering rules to such an extent that the police stepped in.
20:17After the incident, Reinbold was banned by Alaska Airlines.
20:21This was a problem since they were the only company that made regular trips to the state's
20:25capital Juneau, where Reinbold needed to vote and do her job.
20:43As such, she asked to be excused from attending the Senate until a later date.
20:47Her request was granted.
20:50Number 30.
20:51Some Karen Public transport seems to bring out the worst
20:55in some Karens.
20:56In 2011, Emma West sat on a train in Croydon, England, with a child balanced on her lap.
21:03For some reason, she went off on a tirade of abuse to other passengers, such as claiming
21:08one person wasn't British since they were black.
21:11Yikes.
21:12West was soon arrested for verbally abusing people.
21:23However, due to her lawyers arguing she was unfit to stay in trial because of a history
21:27of violent episodes, she wasn't sentenced until 2013, when she received a 24-month community
21:33order.
21:34West was also struck off as a nurse by the General
21:47Dental Council for bringing the profession into disrepute.
21:51Number 29.
21:53Vicious Vacation Most people relax on the beach on vacation,
21:57perhaps enjoying a book and a cocktail in the sun, but not Adam Katsivelos.
22:02In 2018, the South African was holidaying in Greece when he recorded a video of himself
22:07ranting with some slurs, stating it was heaven on earth since there were no black people
22:13there.
22:14Wow.
22:15Unsurprisingly, people were furious.
22:25The backlash caused a boycott of Katsivelos' family business, forcing them to fire him.
22:31Even Nike had to make a statement as Katsivelos' wife worked for them.
22:34To make matters worse, he had to face legal action.
22:38In 2020, after pleading guilty to crimin injuria, Katsivelos was sentenced to a $3,300 fine
22:44or two years in jail, both options suspended for five years.
23:03Number 28.
23:05Not Learning a Lesson Getting fired from her job at Rent Me Superstore
23:09in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a racist rant at a customer wasn't enough for Tara
23:14Lynn Belcher in 2015.
23:16Nope, she needed to do more… for some reason.
23:26Upon leaving the shop, an unidentified man who had witnessed the event followed her outside,
23:31recording her on his phone to shame her online later.
23:34Later, Belcher claimed the man attacked her.
23:36However, as the police investigated, they found a very different story.
23:46Belcher uttered several racial slurs at the man and then spat at him.
23:50He retaliated with a slap before a scuffle broke out between them.
23:53Belcher was soon arrested for assault, battery, and possession of banned substances.
23:59Number 27.
24:01Brooklyn Karen Some Karens don't take a moment to check
24:04they have all the correct information.
24:07In 2021, author Frederick Joseph and his fiancée were walking their dog in a Brooklyn dog park.
24:13Suddenly, they were approached by Emma Sarley, who mixed up their dog with another that barked
24:18a lot.
24:19She then told him to stay in his hood.
24:24Yikes.
24:31When Joseph began recording her, Sarley pretended that didn't happen and tried to twist it
24:36that they were telling her that.
24:38Joseph then got support from witness Steve Tracy, who confirmed she had told the couple
24:42to stay in their hood.
24:55Sarley even tried to grab the phone.
24:57Soon after the story broke, software company Bevy fired Sarley for her racist harassment.
25:03Number 26.
25:05Not Fresh Ken In theory, lawyers should be a model of justice
25:09and fairness, but that's definitely not the case for Aaron Schlossberg.
25:14With a history of bigoted behavior, in 2018, Schlossberg lost it at Fresh Kitchen in New
25:19York City after he was recorded ranting at staff for speaking Spanish and accusing them
25:24of being in the U.S. illegally.
25:39The community had some fun with him afterward by sending, among other things, a mariachi
25:44band to perform outside his work.
25:46Soon after, Schlossberg was evicted from his office space by the landlord and businesses
25:51cut ties with his law firm.
26:01In 2020, after being brought up on charges by the Attorney Grievance Committee, officials
26:06heavily criticized his behavior and believed the public's shame was punishment enough.
26:12Number 25.
26:14Fired Up Not many Karens have resisted arrest in such
26:18a dramatic fashion.
26:20In 2023, Jennifer Holder allegedly dined and dashed at a restaurant at Hartsfield-Jackson-Atlanta
26:26International Airport.
26:32After attempting to go through a secure door to escape staff, causing the police to respond,
26:37Holder grabbed a fire extinguisher and went on a spray-a-thon through the terminal.
26:41No one was exempt from Holder's rampage.
26:44Cops, security, flight staff, and even passengers were all engulfed in foam.
26:55Three flight staff had to get medical treatment due to breathing issues from the harsh chemicals.
27:00Even when the cops arrested her, Holder wasn't done and spat and kicked them.
27:04She was charged with several crimes including battery, assault, and resisting arrest.
27:09Number 24.
27:12At 2020, many across the U.S. protested the murder of George Floyd.
27:18One such protest was organized by teenager Eric Lucas in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
27:22Well, lawyer Stephanie Rapkin wasn't letting that happen and parked her car in the march's
27:27path.
27:36After pleading with her to move the vehicle, Rapkin spat at Lucas.
27:41During a pandemic!
27:43After being arrested and released the following day, protesters arrived at her home to write
27:47outside with chalk.
27:49Rapkin was detained again after attacking one of them.
27:52At 2023, she was given the option of 60 days in jail or probation with 100 hours of community
27:58service.
27:59Rapkin chose prison by claiming nobody would want her.
28:13Number 23.
28:15Selfish in Singapore In 2021, English-born Benjamin Glynn was on
28:20his way back from work in Singapore.
28:23With the nation having strict pandemic measures in place for mass squaring on public transport,
28:28you'd think he'd be sensible and wear one on the train.
28:40But no, to him, masks are a hoax.
28:43After being filmed breaking the rules, Glynn was arrested for being a public nuisance.
28:49This stopped him from returning to the UK with his family, which meant he lost out on
28:53a job he was set to start.
28:55Glynn was convicted for his procedure breaking and received a sentence of six weeks in prison.
29:00However, he was released days later due to time served.
29:03The icing on the cake?
29:05Glynn was deported from Singapore.
29:08Number 22.
29:09Thieving in Eating It's one level of entitlement to steal items
29:13from your partner, but a whole other to grab jewelry that once belonged to his now-deceased
29:18mother as a keepsake.
29:20In 2018, the police arrived in Troy, Michigan to find a very drunk Sylvia Hope Varelan refusing
29:26to leave her boyfriend's house and return some jewelry.
29:44And she didn't make it easy for the cops.
29:46Varelan punched them, kicked them, bit them, spat at them, and tried to grab an officer's
29:51firearm.
29:52Then it turned out Varelan had swallowed her boyfriend's passed away mother's earrings.
30:10After being taken to the hospital to get the items back, gross, Varelan was charged with
30:14numerous crimes including assaults and resisting arrest.
30:18Number 21.
30:20Belle Brood The pandemic really gave Karens a new platform
30:24to show their terrible behavior.
30:26In 2021, Nordstrom Rack in Austin, Texas enforced a no-mask, no-entry rule.
30:32Kara Belle ignored this, claimed she was exempt, then barged into a changing cubicle.
30:38While police were arriving, Belle was still inside the dressing room, refusing to come
30:42out.
30:43However, when she left, the police were waiting.
30:54Belle was belligerent to the officers and acted as if she knew more about the law than
30:58they did.
30:59She then attempted to use her faith to claim the rules don't apply to her.
31:02With no patience remaining, the cops arrested her.
31:11Belle was handed a citation and banned from the store for at least a year.
31:15She was also running to be on the Travis County School Board, but that didn't pan out after
31:19all this drama.
31:20Number 20.
31:22Collier Karen Apparently, even walking down a street is
31:25enough to get the wrath of a Karen.
31:28In 2021, a mother walking down a road in Collier County, Florida, experienced exactly that.
31:34They were on a public sidewalk when Patricia Schmitt stopped her car and blared the horn
31:39at the two, apparently believing that they were trespassing in the neighborhood.
31:44Schmitt then rolled down the window and yelled at them for walking there, before escalating
31:48the situation by going on a racist and ableist rant at the child.
31:55Unbelievably, this terrible Karen is an exceptional student education specialist, a teacher who
32:01specializes in special needs children at Lely Elementary School.
32:07Or we should say, was.
32:09Schmitt was thankfully fired from her job due to her disgusting behavior.
32:13We're also going to be calling for the revocation of her teaching certificate through the Florida
32:19Department of Education.

32:21Soho Karen Losing a cell phone can be a frightening experience
32:25that causes people to panic.
32:27Even in the panic, any decent person wouldn't go around racial profiling.
32:32In 2020, however, while at the Arlo Hotel in Manhattan, New York, a woman named Mia
32:37Ponsetto lost her device and accused teenager Keon Harold Jr., the son of musician Keon
32:44Harold, of stealing it.
32:46Not believing his rejections of the baseless claims, Ponsetto attacked him in the lobby
32:51before she was dragged away.
32:52Her phone was ultimately found at the hotel.
32:55In 2022, Ponsetto pleaded guilty to unlawful imprisonment in the form of a hate crime.
33:01For this, she was given a two-year probation sentence and ordered to attend counseling.
33:06Now, if Ponsetto fails to comply with the terms of the plea deal, she is facing up to
33:11four years in prison.

33:14Cabin Karen
33:15I'm here, getting ready to go to work, put on a yellow life jacket, point out the exits,
33:20hand out chicken or beef, what sort of Friday night is this for me?
33:24Having already been fired by Norwegian Air for allegedly spitting in a passenger's
33:29cup of coffee, Joanne Wickenden decided to go even further in 2017.
33:34Before work one day, the cabin staff employee for British Airways filmed herself via Snapchat.
33:40Wickenden felt it was appropriate to slate her job and go on a racist rant against Nigerians.
33:47All the Nigerians are gonna be there like, give me Coca-Cola, give me beef, why you have
33:51no beef left?
33:52I want beef.
33:53After the video went out, she claimed she was set up and spurred on by co-workers.
33:58An excuse that doesn't really make any of it better.
34:01All the Nigerians, they're all gonna be there asking for f***ing upgrades because
34:04I haven't got enough leg room because all their BBCs are in their way.
34:08Her employers weren't happy and quickly called in Wickenden for a meeting.
34:13However, Wickenden says she resigned from British Airways before she was shown the door.

34:20Barbecue Becky
34:21On a warm day at Lake Merritt in Oakland, California in 2019, a black family was trying
34:27to enjoy a barbecue in a dedicated grilling area, only to be interrupted by Jennifer Schult,
34:33a white woman who called 911 on them twice.
34:37She harassed them over having a charcoal grill long enough for a bystander to confront
34:42her.
34:43It's illegal to have a charcoal grill in the park here.
34:44No, it's not actually, I just looked at the map, it says this is a designated barbecue
34:49area.
34:50The video went viral and details a grand 25 minutes of the altercation in which we get
34:55to see exactly how Schult tries to manipulate the situation and play the victim.
35:05She was quickly dubbed Barbecue Becky Online, and plenty of memes began to circulate.
35:11Even her alma mater, Stanford University, commented on Schult.
35:15We'd say that's karma well served.
35:1816.
35:19SoCal Karen
35:21Folks in Torrance, California just wanted to go about their business.
35:25But if they had Asian heritage, Lena Hernandez wouldn't make the day easy for them.
35:35She was known to approach people and spit racist tirades at them.
35:39While she escaped punishment for a time, justice eventually came crashing down for Hernandez.
35:45In 2019, after verbally assaulting a mall employee, a woman named Kasey Lynn Salminow
35:50stepped in.
35:51Hernandez didn't like this and physically attacked her.
35:55It took a while for the police to do anything, but by 2020, Hernandez found herself in court.
36:01She pleaded no contest to a charge of misdemeanor battery.
36:05As such, the retired social worker got 45 days in jail, anger management classes, and
36:10three years of probation.
36:1215.
36:13Plane Karen
36:14Babies on planes can be a recipe for discomfort, but there are ways to go about potentially
36:31asking to move seats, and this isn't it.
36:34After realizing she was seated next to an infant, the woman in this video, Susan Perez,
36:39threw a fit rather reminiscent of that of an infant.
36:49She then threatened one of the members of the cabin staff with her job, only to learn
36:53very swiftly that she was not at liberty to do that sort of thing.
37:03Perez's attitude took a complete 180, but it was not enough to save her from consequences.
37:09When the video went viral online, Perez was suspended from her employment at the New York
37:13State Council on the Arts.

37:24Soup Skirmish
37:25Working in the service industry can be a thankless job, and being a manager, you have to deal
37:30with customer complaints, adding more stress to a tense employment.
37:34In 2021, we all witnessed just how brutal it can be when a customer threw a bowl of
37:40spicy soup at a restaurant worker.
37:45Reportedly, Amanda Martinez had called to complain about her takeaway soup being so
37:53hot that it apparently melted the plastic lid.
37:57But it didn't go anywhere, so she went into the restaurant, Sol de Jalisco in Temple,
38:02Texas, and argued with manager Janelle Browland.
38:08The act of violence caused Browland injuries, and in 2023, Martinez would plead no contest
38:15to assault.
38:16She received a 15-month deferred adjudication, six days of jail work release, and was fined
38:22$800 plus court costs.
38:2613.
38:27Albany Karen
38:28It might be spelled slightly differently, but we actually have a Karen named Karen for
38:33the century.
38:34In 2021, a group of black women, including local community activist Jamella Anderson,
38:40were having a nice time at a restaurant in Albany, New York.
38:48Then Karen Burton got abusive and went on a racist rant.
38:57Even when the cops arrived to sort out the problem, Burton could be heard yelling racial
39:01slurs at customers and the staff.
39:04After the grim video spread online, Burton's employer, Humana, a medical insurance company,
39:09fired her and slated her for her hate speech.
39:12Plus, Burton was also banned from other establishments in the area.
39:1612.
39:18The high-powered woman slammed for berating cops during a traffic stop is breaking her
39:24silence.
39:25Hitting the jackpot, another Karen named Karen.
39:28In 2018, the police pulled over an unregistered car and impounded it in Tenafly, New Jersey.
39:34The car, as it transpired, was being driven by the daughter of Karen Turner.
39:38Turner was on the board of commissioners for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey,
39:42and tried to use her power to intimidate the cops who stopped her daughter.
39:46I will be talking to the chief of police, and I will be speaking to the mayor.
39:50The car's registration was two years out of date, and an insurance card couldn't
39:54be produced at the time of the traffic stop.
39:57Turner, upon arriving at the scene where the vehicle was to be impounded, displayed aggressive
40:01behavior, requested that officers refer to her as commissioner, and mentioned that she
40:06was friends with the mayor.
40:08Turner eventually released an apology, resigned from the board, and was fined $1,500.
40:14Turner now says,
40:15As a parent, I was upset and uncomfortable with the unfolding events.
40:18I regret my tone toward the police officers and use of off-color language.

40:25Starbucks Karen.
40:26During the pandemic, many businesses globally had a simple rule for customers.
40:31Wear a face mask.
40:32It was government-mandated for one thing, but it proved to be too much for some, including
40:37one Amberlynn Gillis.
40:38Amberlynn Gillis says she has medical problems, but also says masks are not effective.
40:43One of them, I get shortness of breath, dizziness, and it messes with the heartbeat.
40:47After being refused service at a Starbucks in San Diego, she photographed Lennon Gutierrez
40:53and tried to publicly shame the barista on social media.
40:57Only it backfired magically.
40:59A GoFundMe was created on Gutierrez's behalf that brought in over $105,000.
41:05In interviews, Gutierrez stated he planned to put it toward his prospective dance career.
41:10With that very public embarrassment, Gillis then issued a lawsuit against the fundraiser's
41:15creator, Matt Cowan, for various reasons, in part with the hopes of attaining some of
41:20the money from the GoFundMe.
41:22When asked if she has any apology or message to the public.
41:26Uh, no, absolutely not.
41:28I feel like I need the apology I've been discriminated against.

41:32Kefauve Kelly.
41:34In 2018, Darion Tolles attempted to go inside his apartment building in St. Louis, Missouri.
41:40However, Hilary Brooke Mueller wasn't keen on that idea.
41:44She stood in his way and blocked his path.
41:47As they spoke, Mueller acted as though she owned the building.
41:51She didn't.
41:52And kept asking which unit Tolles lived in, demanding to see his key fob.
41:56All I'm asking is what unit?
41:59I don't need to tell you that information, ma'am.
42:01If you want to come into my building.
42:03It's not your building.
42:04It's not the owner.
42:05Even though he had a key to get in, she continued harassing him inside after Tolles had to force
42:10his way past her.
42:11No.
42:12Excuse me.
42:13No.
42:14Excuse me.
42:15Are you kidding me?
42:16Where are you going?
42:18Once the video was released, many accused Mueller of being racist.
42:22However, she claimed it was because she didn't recognize Tolles.
42:26Regardless, Mueller's employer, Tribeca STL, fired her for her dodgy behavior.
42:31Her now former employer has issued a statement about her firing using the words racism and
42:37racial profiling.

42:39Texas Karen
42:40If they knew you were so great in your country, then stay there.
42:44In 2022, a group of four Indian American women were walking to their cars after dinner in
42:50Plano, Texas.
42:52Instead of going home after a nice night, they had to endure the racist tirade of Mexican
42:57American Esmeralda Upton.
42:58Go back to India.
42:59Why?
43:00Why?
43:01We don't want you here.
43:04Using a flurry of slurs and insults, the unhinged Upton also struck the women several times,
43:11and threatened them.
43:12Oh, oh.
43:13Come closer.
43:14Come closer.
43:15Oh my God.
43:16Guys, record.
43:17She's hitting me.
43:18She's hitting me.
43:19Oh my God.
43:20She's hitting me.
43:21Oh my God.
43:22Feeling in danger from the abuse and attacks, they called the cops who arrived shortly after.
43:26Later on, Upton was arrested for assault and making threats.
43:30But that's not all.
43:32At the time of writing, two of the four women, Bidisha Rudra and Indrani Banerjee, have issued
43:38lawsuits against Upton for the traumatizing incident.

43:43Permit Patty
43:45Have you ever seen a child harmlessly selling something on the street to raise money for
43:49something and thought, yeah, I'm going to ruin their life?
43:52If so, you and Allison Eddle could be besties.
43:55This woman don't want to let a little girl sell some water.
43:58In 2018 in San Francisco, 8-year-old Jordan Rogers was selling bottled water on the street
44:04to help her mom financially and go to Disneyland.
44:07Eddle, infuriated by the constant noise as she worked from home, called the cops about
44:12Rogers' lack of a permit.
44:14You can hide all you want.
44:16The whole world gonna see you, boo.
44:17Yeah, and illegally selling water without a permit?
44:20As you can imagine, this didn't go down well with the internet, which pointed out the racist
44:25overtones.
44:26With all that pressure and dispensaries refusing to stock products from Eddle's employer,
44:31she was forced to resign as CEO of the cannabis company TreatWell Health.
44:35It is Misattel's belief that TreatWell, its employees, and patients should not have
44:40to suffer because of a situation that occurred in an escalated moment.

44:46Victoria's Secret Karen
44:47This is crazy.
44:52In 2021, something strange happened at a Victoria's Secret store in Millburn, New Jersey, while
44:58Ijeoma Ukenta was doing some shopping.
45:01Ukenta reportedly claimed she asked Abigail Elphick to step back as she was too close
45:06when they browsed.
45:08So she went to the staff and told them Ukenta threatened her.
45:11When Ukenta began filming, Elphick attempted to hit her before she sobbed on the floor.
45:16I never thought nothing like this would happen to me.
45:18She just tried to run and hit me.
45:22Did you see her?
45:25Later, Elphick stated her reaction was due to a panic attack from being filmed.
45:37In the aftermath, Ukenta created a GoFundMe page for legal costs against Elphick.
45:43Within the page, she also criticized the handling of the situation by the security and police.
45:49At the time of writing, over $104,000 has been donated.

45:56Coughing Karen
45:57As most people came together during the global events to support each other, some did their
46:01best to do the opposite.
46:03In 2021, masked shoppers in a Super Saver store in Lincoln, Nebraska, attempted to get
46:09their groceries calmly.
46:10However, Janine Hoskovec had other ideas.
46:13With a smirk on her unmasked face, she dramatically coughed at people pretending it was allergies.
46:25When folk protested Hoskovec's grotesque actions, she patronizingly called them cute
46:30and sheep before descending into a rant about other people's health.
46:35After a very quick investigation, her employer, the software company SAP, fired Hoskovec.

46:51In 2022, employees at Robex in Fairfield, Connecticut, were trying to get through the
46:57day.
46:58But not on James Iannozzo's watch.
47:06After buying a smoothie there, he gave it to his son at home, who had an allergic reaction.
47:11After medical attention, Iannozzo arrived at the store and launched into a tirade of
47:16insults, slurs, and threats.
47:20However, the employees claimed he never mentioned the peanut allergy to them.
47:29He finished it off by throwing the smoothie at the staff.
47:33Well, it all went wrong for Iannozzo.
47:42Firstly, he was arrested and received one year of probation.
47:46Then, Iannozzo was fired by Merrill Lynch.
47:49Finally, he faced a lawsuit from one of the employees.
47:52But in September, the case was settled for $7,500.

47:59San Fran Karen
48:00James Wanio was probably pretty startled in 2020 when he turned around and saw Lisa Alexander
48:06staring at him, looking like a mix between a character from Smile and Get Out.
48:11At the time, he had just finished writing Black Lives Matter with chalk on a property
48:15in San Francisco.
48:17Well, Alexander and her husband Robert apparently knew the person who lived there.
48:32This is odd, since Wanilo actually resided there for years.
48:36The couple then called the cops on the activist.
48:48Once the video was released, Alexander had to put the website of her company, Le Face
48:52Skin Care, offline temporarily, and she publicly apologized to Wanilo.
48:58While Robert was fired from the financial firm, Raymond James.

49:09judge.
49:10He's a black man, and he's gonna protect the brown man from this white woman.
49:17But Diana Ploss is on another level, considering she had a little bit of fame.
49:21In 2020, through Facebook Live, the conservative radio host recorded herself berating landscapers
49:27in Nashua, New Hampshire, as they were working on the street.
49:31What's the first thing I do?
49:32Go for my phone.
49:33Gotta do a live stream.
49:35Have to show people what's going on.
49:37Ploss seemingly had an issue with the workers speaking Spanish.
49:40Okay, but it is America.
49:43It is America.
49:44You should be speaking English.
49:45She repeatedly told them to speak in English before asking if any of them were quote, illegal,
49:51and saying their work was quote, communism.
49:54Jeez.
49:55Afterward, the radio station WSMN cut ties with Ploss and the show she had hosted there
50:01for the past couple of years.
50:02We at WSMN value freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and assembly.

50:11Number two, family of Karens.
50:14In 2021, Johnny Martinez was doing his job by checking cars for permits in the car park
50:20of a residential building in Nashville, Tennessee.
50:22However, he realized he was being followed by a Karen family duo, Bitsy Brennan and her
50:27son Edward.
50:29The two demanded to know what he was doing there, ignoring the ID badge around Martinez's
50:34neck.
50:35Call the cops.
50:36You want to call the cops?
50:37Yeah, this is not your apartment.
50:38It's not my apartment?
50:39Yes.
50:40I don't need to tell you anything.
50:41Do you have an ID on you?
50:44Things quickly escalated when Edward attempted to attack Martinez in response to him filming
50:49the confrontation.
50:50You're attacking me?
50:51Seriously?
50:52Put that, get that phone out of your mouth.
50:56In response, Bitsy called the cops to come and sort this out.
51:00However, the duo apparently left before the police arrived.
51:04Once the video went viral, Bitsy was reportedly fired from her job at UBS, while Edward was
51:09charged with assault.
51:10Now you're leaving?
51:11Okay.
51:12That's unsafe right there.

51:32Number one, Central Park Karen.
51:35If this incident hadn't been filmed, it could have ended poorly for the victim.
51:40She understood the power she wielded at that moment to call police as a white woman on
51:44a black man as a scary black man.
51:46In 2020, Christian Cooper was in Central Park in New York City, enjoying some bird watching,
51:52but he spotted Amy Cooper, no relation, with her dog that was off its lead, against the
51:58park's rules.
51:59When Christian asked her to leash the dog and then offered it a treat, Amy exploded.
52:05While strangling the poor pup as she held its collar tightly, she called the police,
52:09put on an act, and claimed, quote, an African-American man threatened her.
52:14Wow.
52:15Please call the cops.
52:16I'm going to tell them there's an African-American man threatening my life.
52:20After the backlash, Amy temporarily gave up her dog to a shelter and was fired by her
52:24employer Franklin Templeton.
52:27She later took them to court for illegal dismissal, only to lose.
