00:00Acharyaji, if you look at dogs, no matter how much suffering they have faced, if they

00:13are accepted by a family, then in a couple of days, they are all happy and all moving

00:20around as if nothing bad ever happened to them.

00:24So is the spiritual process actually about reducing your suffering to a level where they

00:30fade into oblivion or increasing the amount of love and joy to such abundance that the

00:36suffering relatively is of no consequence at all?

00:43Man is special.

00:49Dogs and cats and pigeons are all lovely.

00:53And alligators and pythons are.

00:57But man cannot be compared to dogs when it comes to the urge to be liberated.

01:10Dogs love families because man has domesticated dogs since a very, very long while now.

01:23The domestication has seeped down into the DNA of dogs.

01:33Man's company provides them with the assurance of food and that's what gives them happiness.

01:42There is no spiritual angle or dimension to that.

01:50A lion would not love man's company except if he is hungry.

02:00Dogs love to play with you and cuddle with you and sleep with you and all those things.

02:08Even wolves don't love that though wolves and dogs are genetically quite the same.

02:18So all these things that you find in animals are merely an expression of Prakriti, physical

02:25nature.

02:26They have nothing to do with the great and deep desire to be liberated from the cycle

02:32of suffering and birth and death.

02:42Yes dogs love you but if you donate them to some other person and the other person starts

02:52feeding them regularly, within a month or two the dog starts belonging fully to the

03:01new master as well.

03:03It's about food, not freedom.

03:10When you talk about the desire for truth, so there is this thirst, there is this longing

03:16but it's like if I give an example of a car, so one foot is on the accelerator and the

03:23other one is on the brake also.

03:26So how to intensify this longing because so that brake, it's fully on, it's not part-time

03:34journey.

03:35Either decide for yourself that you do not need to break the process or get a co-passenger

03:42who would slap you every time you jam the brakes.

03:46There's no other way possible.

03:49Do it on your own or get somebody to help you, advise you, maybe even supervise you.

03:59Supervision is never a very advisable thing you see but what to do if you are unable to

04:09make it on your own.

04:20Put a reminder on the windshield, don't brake.

04:28Things are simple.

04:30There are no magical solutions.

04:34If you are the one who is pressing at both the accelerator and the brake, what solution

04:43can be offered to you?

04:53Very soon the car itself would burn out.

04:57Time is limited.

05:01So is fuel.

05:07If you are of the kind that engages in such contradictory acts, accelerating and braking

05:20together, then please be advised that no method is going to help you because even the application

05:31of method depends on your willingness and commitment and honesty.

05:40I would not offer false hope.

05:45Acharyaji, is there attraction and attachment that doesn't derive from body identification?

05:55Yes, there is.

06:00But in general, you should assume that there is not.

06:08In general, you should try to negate it, deny it, ruthlessly question it and then if it

06:28survives and passes all the tests, only then must you accept it.

06:45The ego wants to claim all the high and good things for itself.

06:52So even if it is going for somebody's body, it would want to say no, it is not physical

07:01attraction.

07:02It is metaphysical love.

07:13Most of the lovers, if you go to them and tell them point blank that what you are experiencing

07:21is merely physical attraction, they feel offended.

07:27They say no, it is something to do with the soul.

07:31My spirit is in love with her spirit.

07:34It is not merely bodily.

07:35I don't even want to touch her.

07:38I just want to be with her.

07:41It's just the ego trying to get a good name for itself.

07:46It's just lust trying to wear saintly clothes and that happens most of the times.

07:57So you should be very very careful against it.

08:04But if you are asking whether in principle it is possible to be attracted in a non-bodily

08:11way, yes it is possible, but extremely extremely rare.

08:16And since it is extremely extremely rare, I said you must ruthlessly question it.
