Philippines to get $500-M military aid from US

The Philippines will receive $500 million in foreign military financing from the United States as Washington's help for Manila's efforts to modernize its military and the coast guard. 00:27Today, as you heard, Secretary Blinken and I announced that we are poised to deliver

00:32a once-in-a-generation investment to help modernize the armed forces of the Philippines

00:38and the Philippine Coast Guard.

00:40We're working with the U.S. Congress to allocate $500 million in foreign military financing

00:47into the Philippines.

00:50This level of funding is unprecedented, and it sends a clear message of support for the

00:56Philippines from the Biden-Harris administration, the U.S. Congress, and the American people.
