Philippines to get $500-M military aid from US

The Philippines will receive $500 million in foreign military financing from the United States as Washington's help for Manila's efforts to modernize its military and the coast guard.

The amount is the biggest foreign military financing that the Philippines will be receiving from the US ever since, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said.

00:50This level of funding is unprecedented, and it sends a clear message of support for the
00:56Philippines from the Biden-Harris administration, the U.S. Congress, and the American people.
