00:00Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual has resigned.

00:05According to the Presidential Communications Office,

00:07the resignation of Secretary Pascual, who is expected to return to the private sector, was effective on August 2.

00:15In a statement by the PCO, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. accepted his resignation.

00:22The President also acknowledged the service of the private sector,

00:25particularly in the development and transformation of the economy of our country.

00:30In addition, Pascual's focus on micro, small, and medium enterprises was good

00:37and he is starting to see the fruits of his accomplishments.

00:43Although he is reluctant to resign, President Marcos also respects his decision.

00:50In place of Pascual, it is expected that a direct transition will continue for the efforts of the agency.
