00:20I'm very excited.
00:21I remember a couple years ago watching you work with Trayvon on the sideline.
00:26Everybody's doing their stuff and you're just over there throwing balls at him and y'all
00:29are catching and going back and forth, and y'all already looked like y'all had built
00:32a really good relationship.
00:34And then the more I watched you, it was just like, this dude communicates so well with
00:38these players.
00:40Where is that communication?
00:41Where did you learn that and grow that and harness that, and how do you apply that with
00:46these guys?
00:47Well, my thing with just getting into the coaching profession, I said to myself that
00:54I would never do or say anything to a player that I wouldn't have done or said to me when
01:00I'm in their seat.
01:03I wasn't a hard coach, but there were just certain things as a player that, hey, look,
01:09I'm going to do this.
01:10You just got to ride with me, coach.
01:13So I understand those, like there's going to be little things like that.
01:16So when guys just know you understand what they're going through, it makes your job a
01:22whole lot easier.
01:23And then that's got to be, I mean, that's a huge factor too, is you played the game
01:28irritatingly a lot of times as a Cowboys fan growing up.
01:30I mean, I saw it too many times, but like you played that game and I guess being able
01:35to see and know what they're going through and they know that you know, has to be a big
01:39factor in that relationship building.
01:41Yes, it is.
01:43And then when you got guys, you spoke of Trey, when he came in, he came in wanting to learn.
01:52I've coached a lot of good players, but I got to say as a rookie, like this guy came
01:58in wanting to learn every single word, like he was absorbing, you know what I mean?
02:05And you know, he made, he really made that come to life.
