00:01and Yankees in the World Series.
00:02Maserati would a game seven
00:05ninth inning walk off home run
00:07to beat the Yankees.
00:09The way the Yankees have suddenly
00:11come alive in these last
00:15few days.
00:15They took the series in the
00:17World Series.
00:17They took the series in the
00:18World Series.
00:19They took the series in the
00:20World Series.
00:20They took the series in the
00:21World Series.
00:22They took the series in the
00:22World Series.
00:23They took the series in the
00:23World Series.
00:24They took the series in the
00:24World Series.
00:25They took the series in the
00:25World Series.
00:26They took the series in the
00:26World Series.
00:27They took the series in the
00:27World Series.
00:28They took the series in the
00:28World Series.
00:29They took the series in the
00:30World Series.
00:30They took the series in the
00:31World Series.
00:31They took the series in the
00:32World Series.
00:32They swept the Phillies today.
00:34They've won five in a row.
00:36Jazz you already heard the home
00:39runs from last night.
00:40I mean he had for home runs in
00:42three games.
00:44He had a hit today scored a
00:45run today he's done something
00:46every single day.
00:48What do you think of what he's
00:50injected into that lineup and
00:52into that defense.
00:53He was making plays at third
00:54base.
00:54He's never played third but he
00:56was making sweeping throws
00:57the diamond last night and I think he's just been awesome and he's having so much fun it's for me
01:05it's enjoyable just to watch someone finally on that team have a personality he reminds me of
01:09Mickey Rivers that's a great call Mickey Rivers there's a name from the past I love that one
01:15he just needs that one batting glove flapping out his back pocket but no he's been phenomenal
01:22I mean you could not ask for a better start than Jazz Chisholm has had with the Yankees and
01:27you know I think a couple things you're right he's injected a lot of enthusiasm and energy into that
01:32lineup I think being out of Miami I mean I don't care you know if you're 22 years old 26 years old
01:3930 years old when you're playing in a dead-ass town for baseball where the team literally started
01:47trading away players like opening week they traded Luis Arias to the Padres right opening
01:54Marlins are signaling white flag wave we're not even trying this year so I mean you got like
02:00Jazz Chisholm that's an awful long way to awful long way to go when your team's given up
02:06you're not drawing fans and oh my gosh being traded to the Yankees he's loving the spotlight
02:13the attention and the competition and it's going to bring out the best in him and I think he's
02:18brought out the best in the Yankees in his first couple of games I mean sweeping the Phillies
02:22you know they're one of the two or three best teams in the majors and it's impressive and
02:26you know Yankees are I think through that mid-season slump you know Giancarlo Stanton's
02:30back you know from the injured list they still are missing Anthony Rizzo but Chisholm has been a
02:35remarkable add these last couple of days. How about the Phillies though now Scott they're on a
02:43I think it's four and twelve now that you know in their last 16 games they're just losing
02:51they're not hitting Harper like through last night he was over five last night was in a one
02:56for 25 uh stagger uh what is happening to the Phillies no one's noticed that they've been
03:03stinking it up lately because they have such a huge lead in the east but they're playing
03:07really bad baseball right now. Yeah they are I think they'll they're too good not to turn it
03:13around um you know Aaron Nolan, Zach Wheeler, Wheeler got blasted the other day by the Yankees
03:19but you know I think you know every team goes through a bit of a dip during the season I think
03:24this is the Phillies I mean you know like you said Harper's you know been been uh really really
03:31bad the last few weeks um but they're too good not to come out of it I think where the Phillies
03:36are concerned they're probably not as good as they were the first half of the year I mean you know
03:41teams aren't going to win 65 percent of their games but I don't think they're as bad as we've
03:47seen the last week or 10 days and you know with Harper and Kyle Schwarber and these guys I you
03:52know not to mention you know Nolan Wheeler and they I think uh you know they've got the pieces
03:57there to still you know come out of this. Yeah I hope not anyway uh the Pirates um
04:07well that's right son uh Pirates got IKF who was hitting 292 in Toronto they got
04:12De La Cruz from the Marlins who had 18 home runs so they finally went out and spent some money and
04:16got some bats they got some pitching as well and Taylor's hit home runs two nights in a row
04:22at Minute Maid and they beat the Astros back-to-back games Taylor's game winner in the ninth
04:27uh on Monday night Tuesday night they do it again he hits another one you've got to admit
04:33uh no one saw that coming that they would um frankly kick the Astros ass.
04:39No no they didn't and uh you're right I mean that Monday night game the the first Taylor home run I
04:44mean two to two into the ninth inning and you know a really good ball game it's in Houston
04:51the Astros obviously are are back on their feet after a horrible start and they're chasing down
04:57you know everybody the Mariners in the in the American League West and trying to restore the
05:03order in the American League West and take their rightful place on top of it and then here come
05:08the Pirates in the ninth inning and yeah Michael Taylor that three run home run I mean that
05:13you know over 162 games uh Scott you hate uh you don't want to overemphasize any one or two games
05:22but also when you're a winning team there comes a time and you especially at the end of the year
05:30if you have a successful year where you look back on a couple of moments and you're like okay that
05:35was a moment that galvanized us that was the moment that helped us take off that Michael Taylor
05:40three-run homer Monday night in the ninth inning of a 2-2 game on the road in Houston that was one
05:46of those moments and um I love watching you know what the Pirates are doing right now and and you
05:51know so nice to see them actually be uh buyers instead of sellers at the deadline right they're
05:57relevant and I think they've got you know this deep into the season I think they're going to
06:02stay relevant I do too uh respectfully I got a minute Preller's decision to give up six prospects
06:09for two relievers were they worth those six prospects well it all depends on from what
06:16prism you view it and from the Padres I'll tell you how the Padres the Padres have they have to
06:23win this year or next year two years from now Machado's contract goes like 30 million a year
06:29Bogarts goes up Tatis goes up two years from now they're gonna have like 90 million dollars
06:33in the payroll just among those three players they're gonna have trouble spreading that out
06:37also Preller is on the hot seat this year he needs to win right now so they've given up nine
06:43of their top 15 prospects since spring training the Dillon sees trade the arise trade that's a
06:50big steep price to pay especially lately for the two relievers but that's why they're doing it
06:55they've got to win this year or this year preferably or next or they're going to go
07:01not to go downhill.
