00:00A sexual escapade by two brothers from Pahang was cut short by a raid from the State Immigration
00:09Department at a hotel in Taman Melaka Raya. The brothers, aged 30 and 31, admitted to
00:16paying 250 ringgit each for the services of foreign sex workers when questioned by officers
00:22during the Wednesday night raid. They also revealed they had arranged the encounters
00:27through online chats using the WeChat platform while holidaying in Melaka. However, the raid
00:33occurred shortly after the brothers entered their separate rooms, preventing any engagement.
00:41Melaka Immigration Department Director Anirwan Fauzi Muhammad Aini stated on Thursday that
00:47the hotel raid was part of three ongoing operations targeting undocumented migrants in the Melaka
00:53Terna and Jasin districts. During these operations, authorities detained 13 foreigners, including
00:59a Pakistani and an Indian national at a barbershop in Jasin, and 11 others at three budget hotels
01:06in Melaka Raya. Among those arrested were nine women from Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam
01:12suspected of involvement in vice activities. All detainees were sent to the Machap Umbu
01:18Immigration Detention Camp for further action under the Immigration Act 1959-63 Act 155
01:26for not having valid permits and Regulation 39B of the Immigration Regulations 1963 for
01:32violating work permits or other conditions.
