00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your evening broadcast from the Met Office. We'll see heavy rain
00:05across Scotland over the next 24 hours, some local disruption possible. An area of low
00:10pressure sits to the northwest, driving in weather systems from the Atlantic, some warm
00:14and humid air associated with this as well, eventually turning more showery and fresher
00:19as we move through Tuesday. So, the details for Sunday evening, outbreaks
00:24of heavy rain across Northern Ireland stretching into Scotland as we head into the early hours.
00:29The Met Office warning in force right through until the end of Monday, some localised disruption
00:34possible 50 to 75 millimetres over the higher ground by the end of the day.
00:39Overnight across England and Wales, generally dry. There will be some rain across western
00:44areas, the clearest skies further south and east. But a muggy night for all, winds coming
00:49in from the south, 15, 16 Celsius as a minimum for many of us. And so, that means a muggy
00:55damp start to the day, particularly across the north. Outbreaks of heavy rain pushing
00:59across Scotland, some localised flooding possible, particularly in the west. Northern Ireland
01:04also seeing rain which transfers into northern England and later northern parts of Wales
01:09as well. To the southeast of this weather front, it
01:12generally stays dry and bright for much of England and Wales. And some sunny spells and
01:17in the best of these are quite a warm, humid day, 26, 27 Celsius possible. In the best
01:23of the sunshine, a little fresher. Behind the weather system, northern Ireland up into
01:27northwest Scotland, generally 17 to 22 Celsius here. Still breezy around the coasts.
01:33Through the evening time, still some heavy pulses of rain working across southern and
01:38eastern parts of Scotland, transferring into northern England, Wales, the west country
01:42as we head into the early hours, eventually making its way into parts of the Midlands
01:47and central southern England. With southeast England generally staying dry, clearer spells
01:52following behind as well. Under the clear spells across the northwest, temperatures
01:57a little fresher, 12 or 13 Celsius, still muggy across many southern and eastern areas,
02:0316 or 17 Celsius to take us in to Tuesday morning. This weather front giving outbreaks
02:08of rain first thing across central parts of England, pushing its way slowly south and
02:13eastward, still affecting perhaps parts of Shetland for a time too before moving away
02:17here. The weather front does linger though across parts of east Anglia down into Kent,
02:21some heavier bursts possible into the afternoon. But for many brightening up, plenty of sunny
02:26spells but showers across northern Ireland, western Scotland could be heavy at times.
02:31Fresher air moving in, so temperatures 18 to 22 Celsius for many, 23 to 25 across the
02:37far east and southeast where that muggy air continues to hold on a little longer. Through
02:43the rest of the week, it generally stays quite mixed, low pressure to the northwest of the
02:47UK, so we're likely to see further rain at times across the north and the west, further
02:51south and east, generally drier and brighter and temperatures nearer to average for the
02:56time of year. If you'd like more information on this, you can find this on our social media
03:01channels and our YouTube as well. See you again soon.
