7th Aug Weather Forecast

00:00Hello, and a very good morning to you. A brighter and fresher start if you're in the south-east
00:05today, but it will be a fairly damp start across the far north-west. And that's due
00:09to this area of low pressure and associated occluded front giving some fairly heavy and
00:13frequent showers through the morning. But as we head into the afternoon, there's a ridge
00:16of high pressure extending across the south and we will see some drier conditions through
00:21the afternoon. But back to this morning. So this is the area of low pressure and associated
00:25occluded front. So fairly persistent, heavy rain for parts of north-west Scotland through
00:30the morning. And then we're going to see fairly frequent showers feeding across North Northern
00:34Ireland, north-west England, Wales and the south-west. But as we head in towards the
00:39afternoon, that ridge of high pressure slowly acting to suppress those showers and it will
00:43be a drier and brighter day across the south. But with that, we're going to see a slight
00:49fresher condition. So we do have this brisk westerly wind and temperatures at best into
00:53the early 20s. So a touchdown on what we've seen for the last couple of days and best
00:57into the high teens across the north of England, north of the UK as well. Heading through this
01:03evening, any of these showers remaining will slowly start to die out, but we will still
01:07see them continue to feed into western Scotland and in the far south-west, seeing that cloud
01:12thicken as we start to see this new frontal system bringing rain, drizzle and quite murky
01:16conditions to start the day on Thursday. And underneath the cloud and rain, we're going
01:21to see a return to some more humid, muggy conditions. But under the clearest skies
01:26further east, it's going to be a bit of a fresher start to the day. So there will be
01:30some early morning sunshine for parts of the south-east and north-east England and north-east
01:34Scotland. But we do have this area of rain and drizzle slowly moving north-eastwards
01:40and there will be some heavier outbursts as well at times, particularly for northern Wales
01:44and north-west England. So there could be some isolated surface water flooding in these
01:49few spots. Temperatures will be a touch higher than today but only by a couple of degrees
01:54and with the cloud, the rain and that strong wind, it's probably not going to be feeling
01:59too summer-like. Best of the sunshine is going to be across the far south-east and also for
02:04parts of Shetland. So a grey and wet night to come through Thursday, but Friday is looking
02:11much drier and brighter. If you'd like to check out any more, please have a look at
