00:09so that the price of houses can be more affordable.
00:12DHSUD has now removed the private developers from the 4PH program.
00:18Joshua Garcia has the details.
00:24The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development has now removed the private developers
00:28from the 4PH program so that the funds can be used for private sector projects
00:35and to lower the price of the houses they are building.
00:38I removed the developers who are in charge and who are selling.
00:45Why would I sell if the market is already there?
00:48You don't need developers, you don't need pre-selling, you don't need agencies.
00:54Remove those unnecessary expenses so that you can lower the price.
00:58In addition to this, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has now approved the DHSUD's sovereign guarantee
01:04that will help to speed up the construction of houses and reach their target of 1.2 million units by 2028.
01:11But the agency hopes that they will reach the target of 3.2 million units
01:15depending on the government's capacity to issue this subsidy.
01:18Aside from the affordable price of the houses, President Marcos also ordered
01:22the proper and quality of the houses to ensure that the communities that will benefit from this will be prosperous.
01:28The rich should feel what the poor should feel.
01:34That is the President's instruction.
01:36Secretary, there should be no difference between what the private sector is selling and what the 4PH is doing.
01:44That is the President's strong will.
01:46According to the latest DHSUD data, more than 50 projects are currently under construction
01:50that are mostly used by private funds.
01:52That is why the sovereign guarantee will help for developmental loans and subsidies to reduce amortization.
01:59According to the DHSUD, 12,000 units have been allocated this year
02:04while 162,381 units are under ongoing construction and land development throughout the country.
