00:00The rubber match in Toronto between the Blue Jays and the
00:08Orioles. Baltimore successful last night. Seven to three
00:11victory. Jackson Holiday back up in the bigs. Three
00:15consecutive games with a home run. He is recorded in RBI in
00:21five straight for the O's after struggling initially when he
00:25was called up. So to the six we go. It is Baltimore and
00:29Toronto where the O's are a slight road favorite. Total at
00:33nine against the Blue Jays today. Of course, it's
00:36Baltimore and New York tied for the top spot in the American
00:39League East standings and thus the best record in the AL. Both
00:42teams sixty-eight and forty-seven. Yeah, how about
00:45this? Again, nineteen pitchers on the card today eligible.
00:48Fourteenth on the card is Gaussman. How about Dean
00:49Kramer? Eighteenth on the card. So, maybe we do get some runs
00:53but there might be a bailout situation here for the Toronto
00:55Blue Jays starter, Kevin Gaussman. Let's take a look at
00:57his numbers. Over the last 111 batters he's faced, a 176 ISO,
01:02not bad, a 304 weighted on base percentage, not bad at all.
01:05Let's take a look at this because a right-handed pitcher
01:07sometimes, Ben, is going to struggle with left-handed
01:09batters. That's not the case with Kevin Gaussman here. An 019
01:12ISO with a weighted on base percentage of 209 through his
01:15last sixty left-handed batters. This is going to be a key
01:17ingredient in just a moment here. Let's take a look at how
01:19he does against right-handed batters. His last fifty-one,
01:22they've been hammering him. A 354 ISO with a weighted on base
01:25percentage of 416. Let's look at that Orioles roster which is
01:29so so talented and also does very well against right-handed
01:32pitching. Having said that though, it's a lot of switch
01:34hitters in that lineup. Anthony Santander has been on fire. One
01:37of my favorite guys on a night-to-night basis to back to
01:39get an RBI. He'll probably get another one tonight but he's
01:43going to be a lefty. Cows is going to be a lefty. Henderson,
01:46O'Hearn, Rutchman, Mullins, and Holiday. That's seven out of
01:49the nine batters we anticipate tonight to be from the left-hand
01:52side. Why is that important? I just told you. Gaussman has
01:55been light out against lefties but not against right-handed
01:58pitching. Could that help out tonight in a victory for the
02:00Toronto Blue Jays? That could be one of those calling cards
02:03to look at. Say, wow, I didn't anticipate that to happen. That
02:05Orioles lineup is good but it looks like the factor is
02:07Gaussman is actually pitching to his strength tonight against
02:10that talented Orioles roster.
