00:00Welcome to the Round 16 edition of Friday Footy Frenzy in Central Holland's Football League.
00:06Round 16, well that means it's the penultimate round. Love that word.
00:11Can't wait for the second last home and away match of the season.
00:14Every year, just to use it or write it.
00:17But I'll tell you what, it's got a lot to offer as well.
00:20Still a lot to play out with the top eight.
00:22Still not 100% locked in as to who plays finals.
00:26And there's a lot of movement still to take place within the top eight.
00:30Let's quickly go to the two games that could put the final word on the top eight.
00:37The first of those is Cardamom Linton against Hepburn at Snake Valley.
00:42Cardamom Linton, they're sitting eighth. They win this, they're playing finals for sure.
00:47If they lose, they've got to look over their shoulder and see what happens between Bunningong and Skipton.
00:53Bunningong's the only team that can displace the Saints.
00:56But it depends on two big factors.
01:01Cardamom Linton has to lose both their last two games and Bunningong has to win both their two games.
01:07So, you know, a lot to play out there and it's going to be a tough assignment for Bunningong.
01:13They're up against Skipton who are in red hot form.
01:16But back to the Cardamom Linton game against Hepburn.
01:19Hepburn also a bit at stake there.
01:21They're still hoping to make a top four finish, which will give them the double chance.
01:25And I think in this one it's the Saints.
01:28I'll stick with them at home, Snake Valley.
01:30But I'll tell you what, don't dismiss Hepburn because, as I've just mentioned,
01:36if they want to finish in the top four, get that double chance, this is a must for them.
01:41Just going back to that Bunningong-Skipton game at Bunningong.
01:44Well, Bunningong, they've got no choice but to win-lose and it's just a matter of playing out the last round.
01:49For Skipton, they want a top four spot.
01:51That's been their target all season.
01:53So they need to win this to hopefully grab that spot as early as this week.
01:59I think Skipton will get the points and effectively end Bunningong's season.
02:04The other big game is at Bungaree where the Demons face Newell.
02:08Bungaree, they need to win to retain top position and would then lock in the minor premiership with a round to go.
02:16And Newell, well, they need to win to keep fourth position for sure.
02:21If they lose, there's still a chance the teams chasing them could lose as well and they could hold top four.
02:27But I think the odds are against that.
02:29So I've said it a lot over the last probably 10 weeks, there's so much at stake in a lot of these games and it still remains so.
02:37With a double chance so important, a lot of teams consider if they don't get that double chance, a top four finish,
02:43well their premiership hopes are certainly set back a fair way.
02:48So they're the three big games of the weekend.
02:50Quickly through the others.
02:51Dales should beat Clunes at home.
02:53Creswick get back into the winner's circle on finish.
02:56What's been a good back end of the season for them against Beaufort?
02:59Springbank, it's going to be a tight one against Beland, against the neighbours there.
03:04I think Springbank get home, but it's a pretty even game, this one.
03:08Learmonth, well, they've been disappointing.
03:10I can't see them getting anywhere near Gordon, even if it is being played at Learmonth.
03:15And the last game, Dunstown, they've got their last home-and-away game for the season.
03:19They've got a bye and then finals.
03:21So the Towns will be looking to finish on a big one as they lead into finals.
03:25They're up against Rokewood Curran.
03:26The Grasshoppers have finished strongly in the same way that Creswick has.
03:30But if they run into an informed Dunstown, you'd expect the Towns to win.
03:36So it's going to be a big round in the Central Highlands Football League.
