श्रावण शुक्ल के पंचमी तिथि को नाग पंचमी के नाम से जाना जाता है इस मौके पर वाराणसी स्थिति नाग कुआं मंदिर में श्रद्धालुओं की काफी भीड़ लगती है यहां दर्शन मात्र से ही नाग दोष और कालसर्प दोष से मुक्ति मिलती है। इस मंदिर में एक कुआं है जिसे नाग कूप कहते है जिसका रास्ता नागलोग के लिए जाता है कई हजार साल पुराने इस कूप में आज भी कई नागों का वास है। इस मंदिर में महर्षि पतंजलि जी का योग साधना स्थल रहा है इसलिए इस मंदिर का आज के दिन विशेष महत्व माना जाता है।
