00:00What is it? What is it? What is it? What is it? What is it?
00:05Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for movie scenes
00:09that received a large amount of negative attention and ridicule from frequent parodies,
00:13social media commentary, jokes in pop culture, or similar teasing.
00:17Warning, there may be a few spoilers in here.
00:20This isn't real. This kind of stuff just doesn't exist.
00:2610. Mark Wahlberg Talks to a Plastic Plant – The Happening
00:31M. Night Shyamalan's sci-fi thriller about plants turning against humans
00:35received widespread critical and audience disapproval back in 2008.
00:39The criticism focused on everything from the script to the acting,
00:42particularly the performance of the film star Mark Wahlberg.
00:46We're just here to use the bathroom, and then we're just gonna leave. I hope that's okay.
00:52In one scene, Wahlberg calmly talks to a plant to let it know that they mean no harm,
00:59until he notices that it's plastic.
01:01Plastic. I'm talking to a plastic plant. I'm still doing it.
01:09Although the character realizes he's being ridiculous,
01:12the scene was funny for all the wrong reasons.
01:14It wouldn't be long until Mark Wahlberg was parodied talking to other things, such as animals.
01:19Hey, donkey, what's going on? You're a donkey. I like that.
01:24You eat apples, right? I produce entourage.
01:289. Voldemort Hugs Draco – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II
01:33During the climax of the final Harry Potter film,
01:36Draco reluctantly walks over to join the Death Eaters.
01:39It's supposed to be a very dramatic and emotional moment.
01:41Oh, well done, Draco. Well done.
01:52And it is, until Voldemort lets out a groan of pleasure as Draco approaches.
01:57It's a little creepy, and not the kind we expect from Voldemort.
02:06Even those in the crowd seem to be thinking to themselves,
02:08well, this feels grossly out of character. Emphasis on the gross.
02:13Speaking of he who must not be named, do you remember his weird laugh?
02:17Well, folks on YouTube sure do.
02:228. One on One – Catwoman Are cats good at basketball?
02:28Air Bud taught us that dogs can hoop, but what about cats?
02:312004's Catwoman seemed to suggest so,
02:34as Halle Berry's Catwoman powers essentially turned her into Michael Jordan.
02:39We aren't the only ones confused by this laughably awful scene.
02:47Many have questioned the legitimacy of the feline basketball equation,
02:51as well as a whole lot more ridiculousness that takes place in the scene.
03:02There are also plenty of YouTubers who decided to honor the
03:05terribleness of the moment with their own recuts and recreations.
03:147. Dancing Bag – American Beauty
03:17American Beauty is a great film that takes a dramatic and darkly comic look at beauty,
03:22love, materialism, and middle-class stagnation.
03:25However, as critically acclaimed as the film is,
03:28it's also had its share of mocking over the years.
03:31And we're not just talking about Kevin Spacey's presence.
03:36The scene in which Ricky shows Jane the video of the plastic bag
03:41is a special moment that captures his idea of finding beauty in the smallest things.
03:56However, it's also been seen by some as an overly pretentious scene
04:01that needs to be taken down a peg.
04:03Who better to do that than Family Guy?
04:05The series actually did an extended parody of the film,
04:08and the dancing bag was not spared.
04:25Cher isn't the only one who's ever wondered what it would be like to turn back time.
04:36For us regular folks, that question will always be rhetorical.
04:39But not for Superman.
04:41As we all saw back in 1978,
04:43the son of Krypton saved Lois Lane's life by flying around the Earth so fast it reversed time.
04:57Now, when it comes to science fiction, and especially superheroes,
05:00there's a lot an audience can accept.
05:02But the whole fly around the Earth to go back in time thing is not one of them.
05:23When you take your shirt off in front of someone for the first time,
05:26the one thing you do not want to hear is laughter.
05:29However, when Edward exposes his flesh to Bella in Twilight,
05:33that's what happens.
05:39No, not from Bella.
05:40We're talking about the reaction from many in the audience to Edward's glittering chest.
05:48Okay, maybe you can watch that scene without laughing.
05:51But what about Spider-Monkey?
05:53Robert Pattinson actually chose the Spider-Monkey line from a list he was given.
06:00Little did he know the mocking it would receive.
06:03Then again, if he thought Spider-Monkey was the best line,
06:06imagine what the alternatives were.
06:18Thankfully, Clark Kent's adoptive mother and Bruce Wayne's biological mother had the same name.
06:23If not for that one amazing coincidence,
06:26Batman and Superman would never have teamed up to destroy Lex Luthor
06:29in this highly disappointing crossover.
06:32The entire movie seemed to turn on one line.
06:48As Batman is preparing to deal the final blow to Superman,
06:51the Man of Steel utters the words,
06:53Save Martha,
06:54and that changes everything.
06:59Maybe if the movie had been better,
07:01the line wouldn't have garnered so much ridicule.
07:04But alas, it wasn't and it did.
07:17Nicolas Cage's acting style has become a thing of legend.
07:20Both good and bad.
07:22While it's earned him much acclaim and an Academy Award,
07:25it has also earned him internet meme immortality.
07:34One such scene that led to one great meme came in 2006's The Wicker Man.
07:38Actually, it came on the DVD version,
07:40as the theatrical release did not have the bee scene.
07:50But while most people have never seen the film either in theatres or on DVD,
07:55Cage's head in cage full of bees has become a widely recognized and mocked movie moment.
08:10We've all seen the movie,
08:12but we've never seen a scene like this.
08:14It's a bit of a shame,
08:15but it's also a bit of a shame that it didn't make it to the Oscars.
08:20We've all had some pretty weird dreams.
08:23Honestly,
08:23a talking dinosaur doesn't even crack the top 10 of the strangest things that have happened in ours.
08:33But nothing from our dreams has ever led to as much unintentional audience laughter
08:37and mocking as the talking dino dream from Jurassic Park 3.
08:45All the raptor says is Alan.
08:48Seeing the mouth move and hearing the words is so dumb
08:51that one can't help but be taken out of the movie for a moment,
08:54even once it's revealed to be a dream.

09:30Originally,
09:30they planned on using a real baby in this infamous scene.
09:34However,
09:34the child arrived and had a fever so they couldn't use him.
09:37They had a backup baby,
09:38but that kid never showed up.
09:40So with options A and B off the table,
09:42Clint Eastwood went with option C,
09:44a doll.
09:47Eastwood has made a lot of great decisions in his life,
09:53but using a plastic doll in that scene was not one of them.
10:00Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller did their best to make it work,
10:03but their best wasn't good enough,
10:05leading to some audiences bursting out laughing
10:07and a whole lot of mocking in the years since.
10:17This little girl needs her daddy.
10:20You knew I was a Navy man when you married me.
