00:07A Magister's Coastguard called police to report of an explosive device being found
00:11on the beach at Heasham. Police and Coastguard cordoned off part of the promenade at Heasham
00:17after the possible explosive device was found. Further assessment found it to be a gas canister.
00:25An incust has been opened into the death of Oswald Tristle teen Jay Slater. The 19-year-old
00:31was holidaying in Tenerife when he went missing. His funeral, which was largely attended, was
00:36held last Saturday at Accrington Cemetery Chapel.
00:40A woman who fell approximately 30 feet from Central Pier in Blackpool required surgery
00:46for her injuries, according to a friend. The woman in her 50s fell through the pier landing
00:52on the beach below at around 4.30pm on Tuesday 6th August. The woman received initial treatment
00:59for her injuries before being extricated and taken to hospital. A friend of the woman has
01:05since set up a GoFundMe to support her and her family. The woman had recently lost her
01:10husband to sepsis and has two children to support.
01:16A property that became a site of persistent anti-social and criminal behaviour was closed
01:21down by a court order. The three-month closure order for 42 Broadway in Hindley was issued
01:27by court magistrates. It means the tenant is not allowed in the property with access
01:32restricted to council and emergency staff.
01:37Sabden's first summer folklore festival takes place at the end of August, and villagers
01:43are busy making scarecrows, window decorations and rag bunting to make the village look spectacular.
01:49The three-day festival runs from Friday to Sunday, August 30th to September 1st, with
01:55most events based around St Mary's Hall and Grounds.
