00:00So as ever it has been a very busy week in the city of Bristol, so Charlie can you tell
00:06us what is our first top news story in the city this week?
00:10Our top story is that a new ÂŁ4m sport facility has been completed in South Bristol ahead
00:18of the new rugby season. So this is the new home of St Bernadette's Rugby Club who will
00:24be moving from their base of more than 60 years in Whitchurch to this new purpose built
00:31facility on Fawford Road in Hartcliffe. The new clubhouse is being built by contractor
00:39Stagnol on behalf of Bristol City Council who are leasing it to the Rugby Club and the
00:46club's chairman said that the move has been more than a decade in the making with the
00:51old clubhouse due to be demolished to make way for new housing.
00:57Thank you Charlie, so we will see how that one pans out in the future. Shall we move
01:02on to our second top news story, tell me about that.
01:06Next is that a major roundabout connecting South Bristol to the rest of the city could
01:12soon be turned into a signal controlled junction. So this is the Bedminster Bridges roundabout
01:21that connects Redcliffe Hill to Bedminster Parade.
01:26Thank you Charlie, so shall we move on to our final top news story in the City of Bristol
01:30this week, tell me about that.
01:34Finally is that a 200-year-old pub in Bristol which closed five years ago has issued an
01:40update about reopening after refurbishment works came to a standstill. So it's the Crosshands
01:48pub in Bedminster Down which first opened in 1824 but shut in 2019. In 2023 there were
01:58plans to do up the pub.
