00:06is addressing the needs of persons deprived of liberty, or PDLs, in Metro Manila jail facilities

00:11with a focus on high congestion rates reaching 500%.

00:15Support from government and non-government organizations was recognized during the agency's 33rd anniversary.

00:22Local governments are helping to alleviate the issue,

00:25but the high cost of land in Metro Manila hinders the construction of new jail facilities.

00:30Additional solutions include streamlining the legal process for PDL cases

00:34to either facilitate release or transfer to the Bureau of Corrections or Bucor.

00:40Several BJMPNCR personnel were also honored for their service.

00:46We already know that our budget is limited in our Bureau.

00:50These stakeholders are the ones who fill our shortcomings,

00:55especially in services, projects, livelihood training, skills, and education.
