00:06Two events championing the folklore and seafaring heritage of the Yorkshire coastline will take place.
00:11Whippley Folk Week started on Saturday but continues throughout this week until Friday,
00:16when we will be bringing live music, dances, storytelling and workshops to the North Yorkshire town.
00:22In East Yorkshire, between Friday and Sunday this week, it's the Hull Folk and Maritime Festival.
00:28Live music is a big theme of the week as one of Yorkshire's biggest showcases of the year, Leeds Festival, gets underway for 2024.
00:35Blink 182, Lionel Del Rey, Fontaines DC, Fred again, Ray, Liam Gallagher and The Last Dinner Party are among the artists performing at Bramham Park over the weekend.
00:45Elsewhere, school leavers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be picking up their GCSE results on Thursday, so good luck to them.
00:52And lastly, sheep, cattle, horses, working dogs and even axe throwers will be on display at the Malham Show on Saturday.
00:59The event takes place beneath the backdrop of Malham Cove in the Yorkshire Dales village.
