00:00Thomas and the Runaway Kite.
00:03It was a windy morning on the island of Sodor.
00:07It was the day of the Sodor Kite Festival.
00:11Soon the sky would be full of kites of all shapes and colours.
00:17The engines were very excited about the kite festival.
00:22Thomas was the most excited of all,
00:25because Thomas liked kites best of all.
00:28Thomas puffed into Brendam Docks.
00:31He had a very special special.
00:33He was to collect the winner's cup for the kite festival.
00:37Thomas gasped when he saw the cup.
00:40Oh my, that's the most beautiful cup I've ever seen.
00:45Thomas, you must deliver the winner's cup to Knapford Station.
00:50Lady Hat will give it to the winner at tea time.
00:54Thomas beamed from buffer to buffer.
00:58Yes sir, I will chop straight there.
01:01Thomas puffed proudly.
01:03He wanted everyone to see that he was pulling the winner's cup.
01:10Thomas pulled up to a junction.
01:13High in the sky, above the treetops, he saw a kite.
01:18Fizzling fireboxes, what a wonderful kite.
01:22I hope I'll see it again.
01:25Thomas huffed and chuffed to the top of Gordon's Hill.
01:29Then he gasped.
01:32There's that wonderful kite again.
01:34The kite belonged to the Fat Controller's grandchildren.
01:38They wanted to win the cup at the kite festival.
01:41Charlie puffed up.
01:43Look at that kite swoop through the air.
01:48Look, there's Thomas.
01:50Suddenly, a gust of wind pulled at the kite.
01:54The kite flew up, up, up and away.
01:58The Fat Controller's grandchildren watched.
02:01They were very sad.
02:03Thomas wanted to help them.
02:05Don't be sad. I'll chase after your kite and bring it back to you.
02:09This made the children very happy.
02:12I'm the fastest engine on Sodor.
02:15I can catch up with your kite.
02:17I'll help you, Thomas.
02:19No, thank you, Charlie. I'm much faster than you.
02:22I can chase this kite all by myself.
02:25So Thomas didn't go straight to Knapford with the winner's cup.
02:29He chuffed off, chasing the Fat Controller's grandchildren's runaway kite.
02:35The wind blew the kite far down the tracks.
02:40Thomas whooshed and wheeshed.
02:42His boiler bubbled, his coal crackled.
02:46I must keep up with the runaway kite.
02:48I'll puff and I'll huff with all of my might.
02:50I'm the fastest engine on Sodor.
02:53Then, the wind blew the kite out of sight.
03:00Where's the kite gone?
03:04Hello, Thomas. You're huffing hard.
03:07Hello, Edward. I'm chasing the Fat Controller's grandchildren's kite.
03:12How exciting. Can I help?
03:15Thank you, Edward. I'm the fastest engine on Sodor.
03:18I can chase their kite all by myself.
03:24At last, Thomas caught up with the kite.
03:27He was excited.
03:35Then, the wind blew the kite another way.
03:45Cinders and ashes, come back Mr. Kite, please.
03:59Thomas chased and raced.
04:02I must keep up with the runaway kite.
04:04I'll puff and I'll huff with all of my might.
04:06I'm the fastest engine on Sodor.
04:09Then, the wind blew the kite up over the bridge.
04:13Emily was on the bridge.
04:15She saw the kite. She was surprised.
04:18Hello, Thomas. Are you chasing that kite?
04:22Yes, Emily. It has blown away from the Fat Controller's grandchildren.
04:26I promised I'll catch it.
04:28Can I help?
04:29No, thank you, Emily.
04:31I'm the fastest engine on Sodor.
04:33I can chase it all by myself.
04:36And Thomas whooshed on under the bridge.
04:41Thomas clattered and clapped.
04:44I must keep up with the runaway kite.
04:46I'll puff and I'll huff with all of my might.
04:48I'm the fastest engine on Sodor.
04:54What's wrong, Thomas?
04:56Your cheeks are as red as James' boiler.
04:59I'm chasing that kite.
05:01Let me help. I can chase it with you.
05:04No, thank you. I can chase this kite all by myself.
05:07I'm the fastest engine on Sodor.
05:10So Percy chuffed off and Thomas puffed on.
05:17At last the wind dropped.
05:20The kite landed in front of Thomas near a junction.
05:24Thomas was pleased.
05:26Bubbling boilies, I've caught up with you now, Mr. Kite.
05:29Thomas whooshed across the junction towards the kite.
05:34Then there was trouble.
05:36Thomas started juddering and jittering.
05:39The flame in Thomas' firebox flickered and fizzled out.
05:45Thomas had burned all his coal chasing the runaway kite.
05:50Oh, my! Oh, no! I've run out of coal.
05:54Then the wind blew again.
05:57The kite flew high in the sky and was gone.
06:02I can't puff anymore. I can't chase the kite.
06:05I'm not the fastest engine on Sodor.
06:07I've broken my promise to the children and I haven't delivered the winner's cup to Knapford Station.
06:13Thomas felt terrible.
06:16It's all my fault.
06:18Suddenly Thomas heard an engine chuffing around the corner.
06:22It was Charlie.
06:24What's wrong, Thomas?
06:26I ran out of coal trying to chase the kite.
06:29I thought you were the fastest engine on Sodor.
06:32I'm not. I was silly to think I could catch the kite on my own.
06:36Will you help me, Charlie?
06:38Of course I will, Thomas.
06:40Charlie gave Thomas some of his coal.
06:44Soon Thomas' firebox was burning brightly.
06:48Thank you, Charlie. I'm late.
06:51I must deliver the winner's cup to Knapford Station.
06:54Can you look for the kite, please?
06:56With all my huff and chuff, Thomas.
07:00So Thomas puffed to Knapford with the winner's cup.
07:04On his way to Knapford, Thomas stopped at a junction.
07:08Percy, Emily and Edward were waiting.
07:12You look sad, Thomas.
07:15I didn't catch the Fat Controller's grandchildren's kite.
07:19Will you all help me?
07:21Of course we will, Thomas.
07:23Right away.
07:25With no delay.
07:27Thomas' friends were happy to help him.
07:30And Thomas was happy to be helped.
07:33Thomas arrived at Knapford Station with the winner's cup.
07:37The Fat Controller's grandchildren raced over.
07:40Hi, Thomas.
07:41They hoped Thomas had found their kite.
07:43I haven't found your kite.
07:45But all my friends are looking for it now. Come with me.
07:49So the children climbed cheerfully on board.
07:54Thomas puffed to a junction.
07:57Suddenly, the kite flew in front of Thomas.
08:01There's the kite!
08:03Emily, Percy, Edward and Charlie chuffed to the junction.
08:08The kite danced between them.
08:11Then it caught its tail on the signal.
08:16Hooray! We've caught the kite!
08:20The engines tooted, the children cheered.
08:23With the help of my friends, we caught the kite.
08:27And later that day, at the kite gala,
08:31the Fat Controller's grandchildren's kite danced best of all.
08:36As the wind blew it high up in the sky,
08:39and Thomas smiled and smiled.
