00:00Hi PEPsters, I'm Bea Alonso from PEP Celebrity Homes and welcome to our farm home.
00:14Share something unforgettable about this area of your farm.
00:18This one? I remember we celebrated Christmas here in 2020. 2020 or 2021?
00:28So there was like a big celebration here, like all my relatives were here, even my brother Bayani.
00:34And then Santy Balang was the baby on the farm when Luca, my nephews, wasn't there.
00:39And then we had such a great time, we had s'mores, and then everything was DIY because it was the pandemic.
00:48And so I think it made it more special for all of us.
00:53How much does it cost to maintain a farm this big?
00:56How much does it cost? I would say a lot. That's why I have to keep working.
01:04But as long as you have a sustainable farm, I guess it's all good.
01:09It's self-sustaining, you have to have businesses within the farm.
01:14Like for example, you have to have trees that will bear fruits that you can sell eventually.
01:21Also, you need livestock so it can help you maintain the farm.
01:26Can you give us a ballpark figure on how much you spend on electricity or grocery for a month?
01:32That I cannot answer. My mom can answer that.
01:37What is your vision for the farm? Do you plan on turning it into a tourist attraction or for rental?
01:43Tourist attraction? I'm not sure yet. Rental? I'm not sure yet.
01:47I'm still enjoying the serenity and the privacy of our farm.
01:51But maybe eventually, my dream and my goal is for Beate Firma to be a household name.
01:59Maybe we will come up with products from our own mangoes or our own harvests.
02:09So maybe in the long run, eventually I can do that.
02:15Why farm, not beach?
02:17Why farm, not beach? That's a very good question.
02:20I also love the beach, but I acquired this piece of land 12-14 years ago.
02:28It was offered to me by Tita Isabel Rivas. I worked with her in a soap before.
02:33And I just fell in love with the place.
02:35In the beginning, this was just raw land from a wildfire.
02:41And then there was just one tree that actually was able to withstand all the chaos and wildfire.
02:51And it reminded me of myself, how I can survive everything.
02:56And so yeah, I fell in love with this piece of land and we turned it into something beautiful.
03:04Do you go here regularly?
03:07Not as often as I would hope so.
03:11But yeah, I come here maybe every three months, maybe once every six months.
03:20But during the pandemic, I used to come here a lot.
03:24How many custodians or caretakers does it take to maintain?
03:28Right now, how many? I'm not so sure.
03:31But yeah, we need a lot of help, definitely.
03:36Who is Bea outside of showbiz?
03:39Bea outside of showbiz?
03:42I would say very simple.
03:44Of course, I like beautiful things. I like comfort.
03:48But I am very, very simple, I would say.
03:52What are some books that inspired you the most?
03:55Books that inspired me?
03:58When I was 14, I used to read this book called The Alchemist.
04:04That I read again just a few months ago.
04:08My realizations were very different from when I was 14.
04:13Now that I'm 36, after reading The Alchemist again.
04:16And I would say that's my favorite book because it's about the power of manifestation.
04:23And it's about believing in yourself.
04:25And yes, I was able to achieve many things from when I was 14.
04:29But also, until now, I still have a lot of things that I want for myself that I haven't realized.
04:35And it reminded me to always believe in myself.
04:38Because somehow, when you're affected by outside noises, you doubt yourself.
04:45And it's very important to always believe in yourself and have faith in yourself.
04:51Because that's the only way that you can go places.
04:54This or that, are you a city person or a Provincia person?
05:00Provincia person.
05:01Actually, I'm a little bit of both.
05:04Spontaneous trips or planned trips?
05:07Planned trips.
05:09Traveling light or overpacking?
05:12Traveling light.
05:14I hope so.
05:17With someone or by yourself?
05:21Both.
05:22Sometimes with people because they say that happiness is best when shared.
05:27But alone is also a good thing because you get to reflect.
05:32Congratulations on BASH Manila, by the way.
05:35Thank you!
05:36Among all business venture types, why did you opt for something travel related?
05:41Because it marries two of my passions.
05:44Organizing, as you can tell, our farm is very organized.
05:48And also traveling.
05:49And I really want to introduce a new way of traveling, a modern way of traveling to people.
05:56How have you grown personally?
06:00Right now, I'm learning so much about handling a business.
06:04Of course, I've had businesses before.
06:06But this is the first time that I created my own brand.
06:12And so I'm really hands-on.
06:14And I feel like I'm growing as a founder, as a business owner.
06:20By really talking to the customers.
06:26And knowing what they need.
06:28And figuring out what the market actually wants.
06:35How do you manage your finances?
06:37Are you more of a saver, investor, or spender?
06:41Huh?
06:43I think...
06:45You said all of that to me.
06:47But one thing that I like about myself is that I never spend beyond my means.
06:55Yes, I treat myself once in a while.
06:58But I make sure that I never live beyond my means.
07:02And also, I like investing.
07:07I also like investing in businesses that have potential.
07:13And real estate for me is the best investment that you can ever make.
07:18Aside from properties, what was your most expensive purchase?
07:24What is it?
07:26I don't know.
07:28Some might say I'm very frugal.
07:30But no, I'm very practical.
07:34Maybe a car?
07:36But then I'm not really that into cars.
07:38I mean, I am.
07:39But I don't have many cars.
07:42What was the cheapest?
07:43Cheapest?
07:45That's a lot.
07:48Maybe...
07:50Actually, food.
07:51I like spending on food.
07:52Spending a lot and spending less on food.
07:56Money-saving tips for people starting up their own businesses?
08:02Don't hire too many people at first.
08:05And your office doesn't have to be extravagant.
08:09You just need an address.
08:11And a hub.
08:14So, you don't have to spend too much on extravagant things in the beginning.
08:19Because eventually, you'll get there.
08:42Find out more.
