00:00So we're already here at the house. Let's go in.
00:14So Bea, what is the inspiration for your house?
00:18Well, honestly, it's like a Texan aesthetic.
00:23Since it's supposed to be a ranch, we have a lot of like cows.
00:27We have a lot of livestock. We have horses now.
00:31But fun fact, this used to be our parking lot.
00:35So like a covered parking lot that we turned into a house.
00:39Because we realized that this has the best view of the mountains.
00:42So we wanted our house to be here.
00:44And here in our property in Briate Firma, we don't have a big house.
00:49We have multiple houses or multiple buildings.
00:52So we have a gym. There's my brother's house.
00:56We have guest rooms that's not inside the house.
00:59Because we really wanted to promote going out of the house and not staying in.
01:06And we want a little privacy.
01:09Were you very hands-on or involved in choosing the design for your home?
01:14I was, in fact.
01:16If I weren't a celebrity, I would be an interior designer and events coordinator.
01:19I really like designing a home, putting so many cute designs inside a home.
01:29That's my thing.
01:31What's your preference when choosing furniture pieces?
01:36First of all, it has to be functional.
01:39It can't be purely aesthetic. It has to be functional.
01:42And more often than not, I prefer Filipino designers.
01:49Have you bought furniture pieces from Spain?
01:52You know, I haven't.
01:54Maybe some art pieces here and there.
01:58And some decorative pieces.
02:03But not a real furniture.
02:05Well, in my house in Spain, yes.
02:08Most of them are Italian and Spanish design furniture.
02:13What do you love most about this house?
02:16I love that it's very simple.
02:17It grounds you.
02:19And I come here to relax.
02:23And it really calms me down when I'm here.
02:28Shall we go in?
02:31Let's talk about showbiz.
02:33Who gave you your screen name?
02:35Mr. M!
02:37So, another fun fact.
02:39My real name is Philbert Angeli Ranullio.
02:42Really far from De Alonso.
02:44So, at first, when they called me Bea, I wouldn't turn around.
02:50Then eventually, I got used to it.
02:53Now, I'm more familiar with the name Philbert Angeli.
02:57Who was your first celebrity crush?
03:00First celebrity crush?
03:03Who was it?
03:05Oh my gosh.
03:07Who was my first celebrity crush?
03:09Stefano Mori.
03:10The kids in the 90s will remember Stefano Mori from the show G-Make.
03:16So, yeah, he was my first celebrity crush.
03:19Who was your first friend in showbiz?
03:22Shaina.
03:24What was the most unexpected role you got?
03:27Unexpected role?
03:29I'm about to do it, by the way.
03:32So, watch out for that.
03:34Can you recall a challenging experience before you became a household name?
03:38Where you promised yourself that you'll make it big someday.
03:42I remember I started as an extra, as a talent.
03:47So, I was just a bit player in shows.
03:52At that time, because we were going through really rough times financially, our family.
03:59So, I was just thinking about how to provide.
04:02So, I was thinking about how many taping days would they call me.
04:06And then how much money I can bring home in a week or in a month.
04:11And so, it was really challenging.
04:13And I promised myself that I would make it big in showbiz.
04:16Have you ever done any odd jobs?
04:19No, my first job was an artista.
04:24Yeah, so I've been in the business for 24 years now.
04:28I started when I was 13 years old.
04:31I have to say it's not really a glamorous job.
04:33Just like what people think.
04:36It takes hard work.
04:38And yeah, I've been in the business for 24 years.
04:41So, I'm thinking if I'll celebrate next year for my 25th year.
04:47But it also makes me look old.
04:52But I've been working for 24 years.
04:55When did you realize that you love acting?
05:00In the beginning, of course.
05:01You know, I didn't know if I was already doing it back then.
05:06When I would join beauty contests or school plays.
05:12By the way, I was a painfully shy, timid kid.
05:17But whenever I would go up on stage,
05:20it was different. All of a sudden, I wasn't shy anymore.
05:23And I would pretend to be someone else.
05:27To be this character that would entertain people.
05:29So, I guess, ever since I was young, I was already acting.
05:33But I fell in love with the craft when I was 14 or 15.
05:40When I was 13 or 14 or 15,
05:43I did my first job, my first show.
05:46Because, by the way, for those who don't know,
05:50my first show was Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay.
05:53It's a soap of Tita Lorna Tolentino and John Lloyd.
05:56I was the newest member of the cast.
05:58And they were all seasoned actors.
06:00Like Johnny Delgado, Bing Lloyd-Zaga, Edwin Manzano,
06:05Lorna Tolentino, Jean Garcia, John Lloyd, Rica.
06:11And so, I feel like that's where my acting came from.
06:18Because they would really share stories about their careers
06:23and tips about acting.
06:24And that's how I fell in love with acting.
06:27When I saw their process as actors, I was really inspired.
06:32And I really consider myself very privileged
06:35because I was able to see their process early on
06:41and also their work ethics.
06:44Who was that one person who motivated you
06:48back when you were just starting to build a name for yourself?
06:50Mr. M.
06:52He always believed in me.
06:54Even though other people didn't believe in me.
06:57But he really pushed me to reach for my dreams.
07:02Like they say, it only takes one person to believe in you, right?
07:06How did you spend your first TF?
07:09Haha.
07:11We paid our debts.
07:14Real talk.
07:16I mean, we were really poor.
07:17So, we needed it for the bills,
07:22and for food, for school.
07:25So that's how I spent my first paycheck.
07:28But my first paycheck that I spent for luxury,
07:31I bought a cell phone.
07:34Finally, when you were starting out,
07:37did you ever feel that you might not be cut out for this career?
07:41Yeah, I've had moments
07:43wherein I really, really wanted to quit already.
07:47That happened to me twice.
07:49First was before One More Chance happened.
07:52Second was before the love affair happened.
07:56So, there were moments.
07:59I mean, I love the craft.
08:01I love acting.
08:03But what comes with it is a bit tricky and difficult,
08:07especially if you want a private life.
08:10So, yeah.
08:12I've thought about quitting many times, twice.
08:17So, yeah.
08:19I mean, I guess, like with other jobs,
08:22sometimes you would doubt yourself,
08:24or you would doubt your destiny.
08:26You think, can I do better?
08:28Or can I be happier?
08:30But I'd be happier if I chose a different path,
08:34or if I chose a different career.
08:35But I'm always drawn to showbiz and acting.
08:39So, I guess, there's a reason why I'm still here.
08:50Thank you for coming, Pepsters!
08:52I hope you enjoyed our little tour
08:54and our little story time here at Peate Firma.
08:58Ingat!
09:00Bye!
09:05Bye!
