00:00Look at Ibrahim and so many of the messengers may peace be upon them, when they corrected
00:17their parents because they were wrong, they didn't say you are my parents so I cannot
00:22correct you.
00:23You correct them, but be kind and respectful.
00:26Because when Allah speaks about parents in the Quran, instead of using the term obedience,
00:31He always uses the term kindness.
00:33Be kind to your parents.
00:45Allah has declared you shall worship none besides Him and you will be kind to your parents.
00:50That verse happens to repeat itself with different wordings or that the meaning of it pointing
00:56at the same thing, to say be kind to your parents.
00:59But obedience is for Allah.
01:02Remember this.
01:03So if your mother is wrong and she is a human being, she will be wrong many times in her
01:07life.
01:08You need to stand up for justice in a kind way, explain to her.
01:14Sometimes you might have to detach.
01:16You may have to leave the house because if you are living together and your mother or
01:22father is oppressing your spouse or your children, you will definitely have to make
01:28the decision.
01:29And this is why Islam allows you or instructs you to offer a separate quarters to your wife.
01:37May Allah grant us an understanding.
