00:00Hey, crazy girl.
00:02Oh, you're good to me.
00:03I actually kept him in my house for a couple of weeks
00:06when he first arrived here.
00:08This nice cushion, and it's still fine, right?
00:11I don't know if I need to panic or not yet.
00:13Oh.
00:13He wanted to be outside so badly.
00:15He was busting every blind in my house.
00:20Jacob came from an abusive breeder
00:22and was extremely traumatized.
00:25Everybody's excited to have Jacob home.
00:28In case you're wondering where 90% of this mud came from,
00:32it's this guy.
00:33I have a pack of six rescued wolf dogs here at my sanctuary,
00:36and it's beautiful chaos.
00:38Oh, my gosh.
00:38I don't know if you guys can still see my house.
00:43I'm trying to take a cute video.
00:45Once he was free in that acre, Jacob really
00:47wanted nothing to do with me.
00:48I'm going to see how close Jacob will let me get today.
00:52Hey, Jacob.
00:53Come here.
00:54You want to come sniff me up?
00:55You can come on your own terms.
00:57It's OK.
00:57However, Jacob loves my daughter, Ella.
01:00All right, guys.
01:01So Ella and I are going to go down and feed the wolf
01:03dogs some treats.
01:05This is just ridiculous.
01:06I'm the one who does all the hard stuff
01:08and raises them and keeps them alive,
01:09and she gets all the love.
01:11She was able to get Jacob to come right up to her.
01:17He's extremely gentle with taking treats from her hand.
01:20I'm good at reading their body language.
01:22Because of this, I was able to be
01:23comfortable with allowing Jacob to form
01:25this relationship with Ella.
01:27Jacob is slowly becoming more and more comfortable with me.
01:30But he's still very suspicious.
01:35I get a phone call from Molly, who runs Walking Wild Rescue
01:38in Ohio, asking if I would be open to taking
01:42in Jacob's brother, Varden.
01:44This is Varden, Jacob's brother.
01:47I mean, reuniting long-lost brothers?
01:49How can I say no to that?
01:52I brought Varden into a little secluded enclosure
01:54within our wolf dog yard.
02:00I really wasn't sure what to expect with reuniting
02:03brothers after being apart.
02:05It's a stressful time.
02:10Jacob was at the side of that enclosure all night long.
02:15He was actually very, very, very, very, very, very,
02:17very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very,
02:20He was actually pawing at the enclosure
02:22where Varden was laying against, which was amazing.
02:25That was really cool to be able to see.
02:27And then came the day to release Varden into the enclosure.
02:32It went really well.
02:36The Walking Wild Rescue did such a good job
02:39at working with Varden.
02:41Varden and Jacob were developing a really great relationship
02:45very quickly.
02:47A couple of weeks after Varden arrived,
02:49Jacob actually took food from me through the fence
02:52for the first time ever.
02:55Varden is helping bring Jacob out of a shell even more.
02:59Varden and Jacob are right there.
03:02I feel honored that I was the one who was entrusted
03:04with not only Jacob, but now his brother, Varden, too.
03:07And it has been heartwarming to be
03:08able to really watch their relationship develop,
03:11even after spending over a year and a half apart.
03:13It feels really good knowing that I
03:15can play my part in giving wolf dogs a forever
03:17safe place to live out the rest of their days.
