Construction of Mortlake's $400m big battery has begun, creating 130 jobs.

00:00It's 300 megawatt and it's got a dispatch profile of two, just over two hours.
00:05It marks the start of the project. You'll see that the construction facilities are now built.
00:09So it's the commencement of construction has started.
00:12In the next few days we'll have the batteries arriving on site, which is a great milestone for the project.
00:17And then we'll also kick off the earthworks for the project.
00:21This site's well suited to a large-scale battery because we've got the transmission line very close.
00:26Obviously, as you can see, we've got the substation and the network infrastructure is already in place.
00:31And so it's really well suited from that perspective.
00:34We can store renewable energy like wind and solar and dispatch at times of peak demand.
00:40We're executing large-scale batteries that are Raring in a Raring Battery Stage 1 and 2.
00:45And now here at Mortlake.
