00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and of the Queen of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
00:23Today we're celebrating the Feast of St. Bartholomew the Apostle, but as we come to pray, let us call to mind our sins.
00:53May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
01:11Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will.
01:25We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory.
01:34Lord God, heavenly King, O God, Almighty Father, Lord Jesus Christ, only begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
01:47you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer.
01:56You are Savior, at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
02:17Strengthen on us, O Lord, with faith, by which the blessed Apostle Bartholomew clung wholeheartedly to your Son, and granted through the help of his prayers, your Church may become for all the nations the sacrament of salvation.
02:33Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
02:46Our reading today is from the book of Revelation, chapter 21, verses 9-14.
02:56The angel spoke to me, saying, Come here, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.
03:05He took me in spirit to a great high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.
03:17It gleamed with the splendor of God. Its radiance was like that of a precious stone, like jasper, clear as crystal.
03:29It had a massive high wall with twelve gates, where twelve angels were stationed, and on which names were inscribed the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
03:46There were three gates facing east, three north, three south, and three west. The wall of the city had twelve horses of stones as its foundation, on which were inscribed the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
04:10The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
04:14Our sponsor of the song today is number 145.
04:19Your friends may know, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
04:32Let all your works be thanks, O Lord, and let your faithful ones bless you. Let them discourse of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might.
04:47Your friends may know, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
04:54Making known to men your might and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
05:00Your kingdom is a kingdom for all ages, and your dominion endures through all generations.
05:09Your friends may know, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
05:16The Lord is just in all his ways and holy in all his works.
05:22The Lord is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.
05:32Your friends may know, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
05:38Please stand.
05:40Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
05:50Rabbi, you are the Son of God. You are the King of Israel.
05:56Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
06:11The Lord be with you. And with your spirit.
06:15A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John. Glory to you, O Lord.
06:22Philip found Nathanael and told him, We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law, and also the prophet, Jesus, son of Joseph, from Nazareth.
06:35But Nathanael said to him, Can anything good come from Nazareth?
06:40Philip said to him, Come and see.
06:43Jesus saw Nathanael coming towards him and said to him, Here is a true child of Israel. There is no duplicity in him.
06:52Nathanael said to him, How do you know me?
06:55Jesus answered and said to him, Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.
07:00Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God. You are the King of Israel.
07:05Jesus answered and said to him, Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?
07:11You would see greater things than this.
07:14And he said to him, Amen, amen, I say to you.
07:18You would see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending, descending on the Son of Man.
07:24The Gospel of the Lord.
07:26Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
07:43Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you.
07:48Fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.
07:53Blessed be God forever.
08:08Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you.
08:13Fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spirit two and three.
08:18Blessed be God forever.
08:23Amen.
08:28Pray, my brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, our Almighty Father.
08:34May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands, for the praise and glory of his name, for our good, and for the good of all his holy Church.
08:43As we celebrate with you the feast day of St. Bartholomew, Lord,
08:48we pray that we may obtain your help through the intercession of the Apostle,
08:55in whose honor we bring you this sacrifice of praise, through Christ our Lord.
09:02Amen.
09:03The Lord be with you.
09:04And with your spirit.
09:06Lift up your hearts.
09:07We lift them up to the Lord.
09:09Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
09:11It is right and just.
09:13It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Eternal God.
09:21For you, eternal shepherd, do not desert your flock, but through the blessed Apostles, watch over it and protect it always,
09:28so that it may be covered by those you have appointed shepherds to lead it in the name of your Son.
09:34And so with the angels and archangels, with thrones and dominions, and with all the hosts and powers of heaven,
09:40we sing the hymn of your glory, as without end we have came.
10:01And today a quote from John Christendom on the Eucharist from the year 344.
10:07Christ is present.
10:08The one Christ who prepared that holy cursed table is the very one who now prepares this altar.
10:14For it is not a man who makes the sacrificial gifts become the body of God's Christ, but he who was crucified for us, Christ himself.
10:22The priest stands there carrying out the action with the power and graces of God.
10:26This is my body, he says.
10:28This statement transforms the gifts.
10:33To you, therefore, most merciful Father, we make humble prayer and petition through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord,
10:39that you accept and bless these gifts, these offerings, these holy and oblivious sacrifices,
10:45which we offer you firstly for your holy Catholic Church.
10:48Be pleased to grant your peace, to guard, unite, and govern her throughout the whole world,
10:52together with your servant Francis, our Pope, Louis, our Bishop, and all those who hold him to the truth,
10:59and guard the Catholic and Apostolic faith.
11:02Remember, Lord, your servants, and all gathered here, whose faith and devotion are known to you.
11:08For them we offer you the sacrifice of praise of the offering for themselves and all who are dear to them,
11:13for the redemption of their souls and the hope of health and well-being,
11:16and paying their homage to you, the eternal God, living and true.
11:19In communion with those whose memory we venerate, especially the glorious Ever-Virgin Mary,
11:24Mother of our God and Lord Jesus Christ, and blessed Joseph, her spouse,
11:28your blessed Apostles and martyrs, Peter and Paul, Andrew, James, John, Thomas, James, Philip, Bartholomew,
11:36Matthew, Simon, and Jude, Linus, Plato, Clement, Sixtus, Cornelius, Cyprian, Lawrence, Chrysogonus,
11:43John and Paul, Cosmas and Damian, and all your saints,
11:46we ask that through the merits of prayers in all things we may be defended.
11:50Therefore, Lord, we pray, graciously accept this oblation of our service,
11:55that of your whole family, order our days in your peace,
11:59and command that we be delivered from each time of damnation,
12:02and counted among the flock of those you have chosen.
12:05Be pleased, O God, we pray, to bless and acknowledge and approve this offering in every respect,
12:11make it spiritual and acceptable, so that it may become for us the body and blood
12:16of your most beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
12:20On the day before he was to suffer, he took bread in his holy and venerable hands,
12:25and with eyes raised to heaven to your God and his Almighty Father,
12:28giving you thanks and said the blessing, broke the bread,
12:31and gave it to his disciples, saying,
12:33Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
12:42My Lord and my God.
12:48In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took this precious chalice in his holy and venerable hands,
12:55and once more giving you thanks, he said the blessing,
12:58and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying,
13:00Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood,
13:05the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for me,
13:11for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
13:16My Lord and my God.
13:21The mystery of faith.
13:23Save us, Savior of the world, for by your promise of resurrection you have set us free.
13:31Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorial of the blessed passion,
13:35the resurrection from the dead, and the glorious ascension into heaven,
13:38of Christ, your Son, our Lord, we, your servants and your holy people,
13:42offer to your glorious majesty from the gifts that you have given us,
13:45this pure victim, this holy victim, this spotless victim,
13:48the holy bread of eternal life and the chalice of everlasting salvation.
13:52Be pleased to look upon these offerings with a serene and kindly countenance,
13:56and to accept them as once you are pleased to accept the gifts of your servant Abel the just,
14:00the sacrifice of Abraham, our father in faith,
14:03and the offering of your high priest Melchizedek, a holy sacrifice, a spotless victim.
14:08In humble prayer we ask you, almighty God, command that these gifts be borne by the hands of your holy angel
14:14to your altar and high, in the sight of your divine majesty,
14:17so that all of us who through this participation at the altar
14:20receive the most holy body and blood of your Son,
14:23may be filled with every grace and heavenly blessing.
14:26Remember also, Lord, your servants who have gone before us with the sign of faith
14:31and rest in the sleep of peace.
14:39Grant them, O Lord, we pray, in all who sleep in Christ, a place of refreshment, light and peace.
14:44To us also, your servants, who those sinners hope in your abundant mercies,
14:48graciously grant some share in fellowship with your holy apostles and martyrs,
14:52with John the Baptist, Stephen, Matthias, Barnabas, and all your saints.
14:56Admit us, we beseech you, into their company,
14:59not weighing our merits, but granting us your pardon.
15:02Through Christ our Lord, to whom you continue to make all these good things, O Lord,
15:06you sanctify them, fill them with life, bless them, and bestow them upon us.
15:12Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father,
15:16in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, forever and ever.
15:31At the Savior's command, informed by divine teaching, we dare to pray.
15:46Bless this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
15:51as we forgive those who trespass against us,
15:55and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
16:00Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
16:02Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy,
16:05we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress,
16:08as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
16:13All the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.
16:18Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles,
16:20Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
16:22Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church,
16:25and graciously grant her peace and unity, in accordance with your will,
16:29who live and reign forever and ever.
16:32May the peace of the Lord be with you always.
16:35And with your spirit.
16:37Let us offer each other a sign of Christ's peace.
16:44Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
16:50Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
16:56Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
17:03Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
17:08Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
17:11May the body and blood of Christ keep us safe for eternal life.
17:24My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
17:28I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.
17:33Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
17:39I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you.
17:45Never permit me to be separated from you.
17:47Amen.
17:48Let us pray.
17:49As we celebrate the feast day of the blessed Apostle Bartholomew, we have received the
17:57pledge of eternal salvation, Lord, and we pray that it may be of help to us both now
18:06and for the life to come through Christ our Lord.
18:09Amen.
18:10May the Lord be with you.
18:11And with your spirit.
18:12And may Almighty God bless you, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
18:17Amen.
18:18Go in peace and make disciples.
18:19Amen.
18:20Amen.
