00:00Hi, my name is Sam Quine, Digital Report for the Lancashire Post and a young aspiring YouTuber
00:06has recently started her own antique series with bargain hunt David Harper as she looks
00:12to grow her channel. Matilda Walden from Lancaster first met the bargain hunt and antique roadshow
00:19star a year ago when she contacted him for an interview to go on her own channel. After
00:25the two met, the 16-year-old proposed the idea of working together on her own antique
00:31series called Good Buy and David happily obliged. The concept of the show is that the two go
00:38around local antique stores, pick out a few items with a budget of £500 supplied by David
00:46with the aim of making a profit. Matilda then proceeds to scour the antique shops and centres
00:52in and around Barnard Castle with David advising her on the best bargains.
00:57David Harper, star of Antiques Road Trip and Bargain Hunt, gives me £500 and says, Matilda,
01:04make me a profit. I am, and I'm giving away trade information
01:08to you, Matilda, that is worth a lot of money. Not only does he give us trade information,
01:11but we talk about things that the BBC won't. Funnily enough, on antique shows now on the
01:17BBC, we wouldn't be able to talk about that. He tells us that his aftershave stinks of
01:21beer and old fags. Smells like an old pub in the 1980s.
01:24And you put that on yourself. I love it. I love it.
01:27I convince him I'm a winner. No way.
01:30Yeah, he was 16 seconds, mine was 18. Well, he's quicker than you, then.
01:34Only by two seconds, though. Oh, I thought you said you were a winner.
01:37No, I mean, like, I was a winner because I was so close to the winner of the whole year,
01:41so his score was a lot. You can't say that you're a winner when you're
01:44actually a loser. No, because then I'd beat everybody else apart
01:48So, who was the overall winner?
01:53What kind of channel is this? I totally confuse him.
01:57I am confused. His expertise is outstanding.
02:02With a decanter, you turn it one and a half times to seal it.
02:07So let's just give it one and a half. Totally sealed.
02:14But he's up for the challenge. Are you questioning my expertise?
02:19And I tell him he is wrong.
02:22Oh, my word. Yes, she is.
02:27She is the expert. You've just completely ruined my reputation.
02:33I'm ruined. Yeah, but we've got to stop thinking, you know,
02:36because in this business, when something is done, it's done.
02:39And I get a David Dresden down.
02:43Because this is my money you're playing with, missus.
02:46My brand new programme, Goodbye, starring David Harper, coming soon.
02:54She's really good. She is good.
02:56She needs to be on TV. She'll be the next.
02:58First episode streaming on Sunday, the 4th of August, 8pm,
03:02on mine and David Harper's YouTube channel.
