00:04In the meantime, the price of chicken is also affected by the public's concern for the ASF.

00:14Five years after the first case of African Swine Fever was reported in the country,

00:20the Department of Agriculture will start the vaccination against ASF.

00:26First, you will be vaccinated against pigs in Lobo, Batangas,

00:29which are 8 to 10 weeks old.

00:32But you should be vaccinated against fatteners or growers or the so-called pig breeders.

00:38All systems go for the vaccination in Lobo, Batangas.

00:42The pigs we tested prior to vaccination are negative and healthy.

00:51So, we will continue our vaccination tomorrow at 9 o'clock.

00:55We cannot sell it within 30 days, minimum.

01:01After vaccination.

01:02It will be monitored and will not be infected with ASF.

01:0510,000 vaccines were sold in Batangas under the Emergency Procurement.

01:11150,000 doses of vaccines will arrive next week.

01:17It will be used in the provinces of Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Mindoro, and North Cotabato.

01:24This is part of the 600,000 doses of ASF vaccine

01:29that will be used to stop the spread of ASF in the country

01:34to increase the supply of local pigs and make it more affordable.

01:40Meanwhile, the DA clarified that the supply of chickens is still sufficient.

01:45This is followed by the increase in the price of chickens in some major markets in Metro Manila.

01:51According to the price monitoring of the DA,

01:53the price of chickens is from P100 to P230 per kilo.

01:58It was higher from P155 to P210 in the same period last year.

02:07What happened is that a large percentage of our consumers

02:13moved from pork to chicken.

02:18There is no issue with the supply of chickens.

02:20We have enough chickens.

02:23What happened is that the demand for chickens increased.

02:29That's why the price of chickens is increasing.

02:34Our government has a plan for this

02:38because there is an importation of chickens.

02:41According to the DA, there is a slight fear in eating pork

02:45but as long as there is an NMIS,

02:48pork will surely be clean and safe.
