00:00The MMDA and Metro Manila Council, or MMC, held a meeting to discuss the appropriate steps

00:07to stop the spread of MPACs, CLAD2, and ASFs in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

00:15In the so-called joint meeting of the Metro Manila and Regional Development Council,

00:19Bureau of Animal Industry, and the DA,

00:22the local governments of the members of the MMC

00:25agreed to increase the number of inspection sites to ensure that the pigs traveling from the provinces are safe

00:34and to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever.

00:37At present, there are 12 inspection sites in the BAI,

00:42and with the help of the MMDA and MMC, this will add up to 6 sites.

00:47Meanwhile, in the latest report of the Department of Health,

00:50there are already 15 active cases of MPACs and CLAD2 in the country.

00:55According to the DOH, in NCR, there are 15 cases of MPACs and CLAD2 this Monday, September 9.

01:02The MMDA and MMC agreed that they will further strengthen the expansion of information

01:08to the LGUs and other agencies of the government

01:12as to how to prevent and stop the spread of the so-called disease.

01:18What we will do, together with the BAI,

01:21is to set up inspection sites

01:25to see if there are permits for their pets to travel.

01:31As for the MPACs, our commitment in NCR,
