01:22Jamie Bruce and Aaron Pennington grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
01:28A long-time couple, they decide to buy a house together in the historic neighborhood of Jackson Acres.
01:36It'll take some work to make it ours, but the foundation is solid, and the neighborhood is great.
01:41This house was my first house. Nothing extravagant about it.
01:45But it was a start, and it was near Jamie's family.
01:48My vision for the house was being able to raise our children in the backyard
01:54and visualizing them being on the swing set and playing and running around and laughing
01:59and riding their bikes and calling it our home.

05:51What was unusual about it was because this was totally out of the ordinary

06:12The next morning, after Aaron and Mason leave the house,
06:16Jamie finds herself experiencing the unexplained.
06:29I went walking into the kitchen,
06:32and all the cabinet doors in the top were opened.
06:38My first instinct was maybe I had done this myself.
06:42I don't really know why I would have left every single door standing wide open,
06:46but that was my first instinct.
06:48But still, in the back of my mind, it just didn't make sense.
06:52Jamie tries to dismiss the experiences and goes about her routine.

07:12I had stepped out of the bathroom to grab a towel to get him out of the bath,

07:19he started having, like, a serious conversation.

18:17And Jamie is terrified because she knows why.

29:03learns of the heightened paranormal activity,
29:06she enlists the aid of investigators
29:08Pam Nance and Ashley Field.
29:12After reviewing the past events,
29:14they are puzzled until they suddenly make a connection
29:19to the graveyard near the home.
29:22The family had visited this cemetery on their property.
29:26When they got there, they saw a man
29:29whose name was hidden in the cemetery on their property.
29:32When they came back from the cemetery,
29:34shortly thereafter, the activity started,
29:36which leads me to believe
29:39that they brought something back with them.
29:41When the investigators arrive at the house,
29:44they find unusually high levels of electromagnetic energy,
29:49signs that supernatural entities are indeed present.

29:57is occupying the house by videotaping an EVP session

32:52is a low-country recipe to seal a portal.

33:07It's all about your intentions, what you're putting out there.

33:13and you want the bad gone, and you're pushing away negative energy,

33:32known as smudging to purify the air.
33:37You start from the center of the room, and you move outward,
33:41pushing all of the negativity out of the room.

33:48You have to have a door or a window cracked prior to starting this process
33:52so whatever's in there can leave.
33:54Otherwise, you're just chasing it from room to room.

34:16It's a pure substance. It also repels evil.
34:19You start from the center of the room, and you flick the salt forward.

35:53He was the son of the original plantation owner.
35:56He had been in the Civil War and had been killed in the Civil War.

36:02is the perfect storm for a restless spirit.
36:07We associated that Gabriel with the gable
36:11that the little boy was experiencing.
36:14The investigators also learned that the spirit of the laughing young girl
36:18taunting Jamie might also have a physical connection to the area.
36:23In our research, we did find that there was a group of ponds
36:27behind the original home place,
36:30and the story goes that a young girl drowned there.
36:33We suspect that the little girl may have been a slave
36:36on the original plantation.
36:39She died a traumatic death, a sudden death.
36:42As we've seen through other investigations,
36:45she may not realize that she is deceased.
36:48She may still think she's living.
36:50She's still acting out the same lifestyle she was living before her death.
36:55I feel like that this is still their land in their eyes,
