00:00Hello, my question is if the beginning and ending is not mine when I was not involved
00:13in any of those so why is this the whole business of existence it's it contains suffering in
00:22it and why is my nature like you said it's suffering which is which I feel that it is
00:29so why what is the reason I would say or cause of my nature being of suffering
00:37no in in prakriti the nature is not of suffering the moment you say my nature
00:47then there is suffering
00:48then there is suffering
00:56Rabindranath Tagore very beautifully he said
01:02the butterfly lives not years not months but days and still has
01:13time long enough
01:15you can pull out the exact quote it runs somewhat like this
01:24suffering is because you have fanciful concepts
01:31otherwise there is just the flow of life this is happening that is happening you do not take
01:38yourself as life in totality you take yourself as an isolated segment with boundaries I am only
01:49this much I am only this much you create yourself as a part of the whole and then you want to
01:59consume the whole to become whole I am a part then there is the whole and I don't like not being the
02:11whole it feels incomplete so what is my relationship with the with the rest of creation I want to eat
02:21it up we divide existence into two parts don't we I and the world me and the universe don't we do that
02:33this and that this and that this and that and the moment you do this and that suffering begins
02:43so this whole process is just to go back to our initial
02:48stage because I just remembered when I used to be younger when I used to see
02:55the whole you know when the whole market and everything I used to feel that there is something
03:03wrong but I want it and I used to feel that I'm more I'm good I'm okay right now but I still
03:12want to enter that domain of of excitement so that feeling of boredom so is that where
03:25we all are trying to go back to you because when when your mind is calm and it's the
03:31you don't want anything but still I remember I used to feel as bored so I used to go searching
03:40for excitement and now it feels like the excitement got so and so much the you want to end
03:49and the whole thing you cannot go back you can only be better than
04:01what you are today and when I say you can be better than today I mean lesser than today
04:09lesser is better there is no way of going back and there is no point in going back
04:18if you yeah I mean that nature that the way of being you didn't have anything special in the
04:25past had we had anything special in the past then we wouldn't have come to the the state of
04:33suffering we find ourselves in today so the past is not the solution you have to realize how things
04:40are with you today you have to look at your interactions with human beings today you have to
04:48see how you relate to your body to your friends to your workplace all these things how they are
04:54panning out today and from there you you develop an insight and that insight offers some freedom
05:11if the present is a problem the past is not the solution
05:15the solution lies in observation of the present not in a fictitious return to the past
05:25so you said it's about decreasing the reducing the present
05:32the mental things no I'm not talking of doing something I'm talking of observing whatever is happening
05:50we do not know what is going on if I do not know what's going on what do I reduce or increase
05:54I don't know what's going on I don't know how to drive which pedal do I press
06:08which knob do I push which button so I must know
06:16it's not about action it's about seeing and realizing what's going on
06:24you
