00:00What do you mean, sir?
00:03This is Ankit Tiwari from NIT Agartala. I am pursuing Masters in NIT Agartala.
00:09Sir, I have a question that if we are preparing for something.
00:13In general, I am asking if we are preparing for something.
00:16Sir, we have told that we have to not worry about results.
00:20Ultimately, I also think that we should not worry about results.
00:24But ultimately, I have that in mind that if I am doing something
00:28that I should come out with that result.
00:31I also think that I should not think about results.
00:34But at the back of my mind, I have that what the result will be.
00:38So, how to be cool, simple that how to be cool.
00:42I want to be cool that I do not want to worry about results.
00:46But that result is ultimately fearing me that what will be the result.
00:54The result that you think of is a programmed concept.
01:02Yes, sir.
01:04Its definition can be changed.
01:08Its definition can be changed. It is like this you see.
01:11Yes, sir.
01:13We all keep looking towards the 30th of the month.
01:20Let us say.
01:22And why do we keep looking towards the 30th of the month?
01:25Because the paycheck arrives on the 30th.
01:29Right?
01:30Okay, sir. Yes, sir.
01:32Now, the arrival of the paycheck on the 30th makes the 30th so important.
01:40It is not that the 30th is by itself important.
01:44What makes the 30th important is that the paycheck arrives on the 30th.
01:50Alright.
01:53We start thinking as if 30th is a special date.
01:56As if 30th carries an intrinsic value.
02:01Challenge that. How?
02:04Start paying yourself every day.
02:07Start paying yourself every day.
02:13Now, is the 30th important anymore?
02:17Let us say every day, evening, you get paid.
02:24On the first, you get paid for what you have done on the first at right at 6 p.m.
02:30Till 6 p.m. you worked and you got it.
02:32Second p.m., second you worked till 6 p.m. and you got paid.
02:36And that is the way it happens throughout the month.
02:38Now, the 30th is no more important.
02:42Are you getting it?
02:43Change the definition of result.
02:46Tell yourself that success consists of excelling at every point in the process.
02:54So, there are these 30 points in the process.
02:57Now, I am not worried about merely the 30th, the last point.
03:03There are 30 points in the process.
03:06Now, I am not worried about merely the last point.
03:11Success consists of excelling at the first point, at the second point, at the third point.
03:18Just as you can be paid on the first, on the second, on the third, you can be paid continuously.
03:24Why should you accumulate everything and make the 30th a big date?
03:32Tell yourself, my success is not determined by what happens on the last date at the last step.
03:42My success is determined daily.
03:47If I did well today, I have succeeded.
03:50I have succeeded and I can celebrate.
03:52Or rather the celebration lies in doing well itself.
03:56I do not even need to separately celebrate.
04:01You will have to reprogram yourself or rather deprogram.
04:07Because we have been trained by our biology and the society to think only of the end point, to think only of the 30th.
04:16You will have to educate yourself to think of the entire chain.
04:22Because everything is as important as the last point.
04:27And then it will be far better for you.
04:30Obviously, you will then need supporting circumstances as well.
04:34Because if there are people around you who just keep asking of what happens at the last point,
04:39then you too will feel as if only the last thing is the most important.
04:44The last thing is not the most important thing.
04:47The last thing does not even exist, I dare say.
04:51All that exists is here, right now, where you have the capacity to change things.
05:03Can you decide what happens on 30th? No.
05:06But you can decide what happens today.
05:09And today is what? 22nd.
05:13So, the 22nd is where your success and failure lies.
05:19But you keep thinking of the 30th, whereas everything is being decided on the 22nd.
05:26And everything will again be decided on the 23rd and then on 24th and then on 25th.
05:33So, educate yourself to think this way.
05:37Or rather not think in terms of just the final milestone.
05:52Sir, I want to ask, if I have listened to a video, if I am not wrong, I have listened to a video,
05:57I have listened to one of the, which hits me a lot.
06:01Sir, can I speak in Hindi if you don't mind?
06:03It would be good for me to express my feelings.
06:06That I just, it's my request to you.
06:09Go ahead, go ahead.
06:10You had said that when you spend a 100 rupee note, you think not once, but 50 times.
06:21And I am listening to you continuously, that's why I am asking you.
06:25You had said that when you spend a 100 rupee note, you think not once, but 50 times.
06:33Sir, this is our life.
06:35We create our understanding that we are giving 1 year in preparation or 2 years, whatever it is.
06:41Now sir, when you are saying that we can think a 1000 times when we spend a 100 rupee note,
06:48then we are giving 2 years.
06:50Maybe these 2 years can impact us, we can think now.
06:54But these 2 years, these are the important moments of our life.
06:59And where we can reach.
07:00But we don't think about the result.
07:02We know that we should not think.
07:05Because it affects our preparation.
07:07Obviously, that today we are doing IITJ preparation, or GATE preparation, or IISC preparation.
07:14It affects our preparation.
07:16Obviously.
07:17But sir, ultimately, the result is coming to our mind again and again.
07:20And you are talking about 100 rupees.
07:23I mean, sir, I agree that you said that we think about 100 rupees, but the point is that we are investing our entire life's earnings there.
07:33And sir, the thing is that we are investing 2 years, but as a middle class family, our parents are investing their entire life's earnings.
07:41Our parents are investing their entire life's earnings.
07:44And sir, the thing is that how can we not think?
07:47It is coming to our mind again and again.
07:49Like you said, don't think about it.
07:53You said, see what you are doing today, or what you are doing tomorrow, what you are achieving.
07:58I totally agree with that.
07:59I have no doubt about it.
08:01That yes, we should not make big goals.
08:04We should make small goals.
08:06I truly agree with that.
08:09No, I didn't say that big goals.
08:11Listen, listen, listen.
08:13I am not saying that don't make big goals and make small goals.
08:18That is not what I am saying.
08:20What I am saying is that the future does not come within your power.
08:26The future is just a principle.
08:31The future is just an imagination.
08:36You make a big goal like a mountain.
08:41But that mountain is not within your power.
08:45Within your power, there is just a hammer that you are using right now.
08:50A mountain is a big imagination.
08:54So you make a mountain as your big goal.
08:57You want to climb a mountain.
09:00Imagine that you want to climb a mountain.
09:03And its peak is very far.
09:07Right now, where do you want to keep your eyes?
09:10It is a very high mountain.
09:12And it is very steep.
09:14Where do you want to keep your eyes?
09:16On the peak?
09:17Or where you are going to keep your feet?
09:28Yes, tell me.
09:32Sir, but until I keep my eyes on the peak,
09:35there is no point in keeping my feet on the ground.
09:42Ask anyone who has ever climbed a mountain,
09:45where do you want to keep your eyes on the peak?
09:50Ask anyone who has ever climbed a mountain,
09:52where do you want to keep your eyes on the peak?
09:55In reality, those who are serious about climbing a mountain,
10:00they do not even look at the peak.
10:02And those who look at the peak,
10:05they never reach the peak in their imagination.
10:13Those who want to reach the peak,
10:16their eyes are right under their feet.
10:19Where do you want to keep your feet?
10:21Those who keep their eyes on the peak,
10:24they can sing a good poem,
10:27but they will never reach the peak.
10:33The next moment, they will slip and fall down,
10:36in the opposite direction from the peak.
10:44Sir, but I am a little confused.
10:47I am a little bit confused.
10:49Sir, when we make an aim,
10:52then we make a target.
10:54You have made it.
10:55You have made it.
10:56You have made it.
10:57What do you want to do now?
10:58Do you want to keep thinking about it?
10:59No, not at all.
11:01Now you are saying that you have made the target,
11:03so let go of it.
11:04Yes, I want to quit.
11:06You have made it, so let it go,
11:07so do the work now.
11:08I cannot leave it.
11:10It is already a fact.
11:11Having given it up means that you have made the target,
11:14it is already decided,
11:15you have let it go.
11:17The target is made,
11:18and it has already been made.
11:21You have made the target,
11:22it has been decided,
11:23you have let it go.
11:24What do you want to do now?
11:25It has already been made,
11:26now you want to work on it.
11:27And where will you work?
11:29Yes sir, like you just said that I have made an aim that I have to cross out this IAS next year, I am not giving any tension about the result, this is my perspective of thinking, I am not giving any tension at all.
11:43Whether it will happen or not, that thing is over, whether it will happen or not, a lot of people do professions, if it doesn't happen then it's fine, well and good.
11:49But I am worrying about my process, I am doing a very good job in that process, I am doing what I can do 100%, but ultimately at the back of the mind, a lot of people are studying, a lot of people have given their whole life preparation there, they have given their whole life time there, but sir at the back of the mind the result is coming.
12:11It is coming because you are not serious about your aim, you are not true about that aim, otherwise how would you have hidden the place in the back of the mind, that here I will keep thinking something else, you are saying that you have to give a test, you have to give a test of Mathematics, now there is a question of Mathematics in front,
12:37so there should be a question of Mathematics in the whole mind, in half of the mind your future is going on, so the question of Mathematics will not be different, and whatever you want in the future, you will never get it anyway.
12:47Sir, but sir, I agree with what you said, because my future is also related to the question of Mathematics.
12:56Oh brother, the future is a fantasy, if it comes then keep it, if it comes then keep it, then what can I do in it, if you are telling the conclusion, then the conclusion is with you, what can I do in it, if it comes then let it come, keep it.
13:10Sir, that is what I want, how can I stay away from it?
13:15You said it with honesty, if you are honest with what you want, then you will stop thinking about it, now this thing is not getting into the mind easily, if you want it with honesty, then you will stop thinking about it, you will just work,
13:32and what you want, if you don't want it with honesty, then you will think more about it, you will work less, you will just enjoy thinking, because there is a lot of joy in thinking, you are thinking, it is going on, who is going to work, just think.
13:51Yes sir.
14:00You understood it so easily.
14:03No sir, I didn't understand it so easily, but I will try, I will try, you told me that I can learn, that is the thing.
14:13Ok, fine.
14:16But I will learn, thank you very much for your time, thank you very much sir.
14:30Acharya ji, we have now come to the end of the first part of today's session, I will request Shashi to make the closing address, please.
