00:08The Kuala Lumpur High Court was told on Monday that a Swiss court made no finding that fugitive
00:13businessman Joe Low represented himself on behalf of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri
00:17Najib Razak.
00:18Najib's lead counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafi Abdullah said this, relating to the Swiss
00:23court conviction of Petro-Saudi International Limited, or PSI executives Tarek Obaid and
00:29Patrick Mahoney last week.
00:31Obaid and Mahoney were jailed 7 and 6 years respectively after they were found guilty
00:36for their roles in embezzling more than 1.8 billion US dollars from 1MDB.
00:42They were both convicted of fraud, criminal mismanagement and money laundering by the
00:46court in the southern Swiss city of Bellinzona.
00:49According to Muhammad Shafi, there were testimonies and evidence that dismissed the notion that
00:54Najib gave clearance to Joe Low regarding the joint venture between 1MDB and PSI.
01:00Muhammad Shafi submitted at the end of the prosecution's case, in Najib's 2.28 billion
01:05ringgit 1MDB graft case.
01:08The hearing continues this afternoon.
