00:00Well, that's where the first challenge from the Royal Statistical Society experts and so on comes in.
00:04They said, no, no, no, no, this is a common misapprehension of these things.
00:09Firstly, you're not taking on board all of the extra deaths.
00:12Just you've picked out half that happened to fit with Lucy Letby's shift schedule.
00:18That's the first thing.
00:19Because there were deaths when she wasn't on duty, which are not part of that.
00:23There were.
00:23About half the deaths, yeah, were when she was not on duty.
00:26So that's the first problem.
00:28So some really big deal statisticians, including one this weekend, Professor John Quigley,
00:36said this is not the way you do this.
00:38This is misleading.
00:40So that's point one.
00:41Point two was the expert evidence on how they died.
00:47Were these children murdered?
00:48Now, bear in mind, six out of seven of the children they picked had had a post-mortem.
00:54And the post-mortem had said natural causes, in essence.
00:58I had other very senior doctors, say, neonatal doctors, specialists, current, working today,
01:07get in touch.
01:07One of them sent me an alternative diagnosis for every single death.
01:11Now, the point about this, and you go through everything and everything you've mentioned,
01:16including, and I went through all the post-it notes and so on, which had opposite things,
01:21almost in the same series of post-it notes.
01:24Oh, I'm evil.
01:25And at the end of the same post-it note series, I've done nothing wrong.
01:30Why is this happening to me?
01:31David Davis, I'll put it to you again, that hearing evidence outside of a courtroom
01:39is not the same as evidence that is interrogated in a courtroom.
01:44Lucy Letby's defence had an opportunity to call the people who are now contacting you.
01:51And it's their responsibility, obviously, to put all of that in front of the jury.
01:55The other way around, some of them actually did contact the defence, I'm told.
02:02Now, I don't know what the conversation was between those, because I've written to the
02:05defence lawyer, I haven't yet had a response, I know that will.
02:10But the point here is, let's take your point about in court.
