00:00Residents in several places in Bulacan are hopeful that the loss of water in Ipo Dam can be affected
00:07because until now, the dam's gate is still open and it is possible that a quick flood will occur.
00:13This is Claycel Pardilla.
00:17Because of the unceasing rainfall, there was a strong and heavy storm.
00:21The loss of water from Ipo Dam continues.
00:26Today, the water level in Ipo Dam is recorded at 100.55 meters.
00:32It is not far from the 101.00 meters spilling level or above the possible flood level.
00:38One of the three gates of Ipo Dam was opened.
00:41The warning system in Ipo Dam is activated and residents in the town of Norzagaray,
00:47Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baliwag, Pulilan and other places in Bulacan are alerted.
00:54There is one more gate that is open at 0.15 meters.
00:58The loss of water continues.
01:01But I want to emphasize,
01:03it's not only the releases from Ipo Dam that we are looking at that can cause a flood,
01:10but also the rainfall within the downstream areas.
01:14The water level in Bustos Dam is also increasing to 130 cubic meters per second.
01:21After opening the two gates,
01:23at 11 o'clock this morning, when the water level in Bustos Dam reached 16.75 meters,
01:30while the spilling level was 17.35 meters,
01:34residents living near the so-called irrigation,
01:38such as in Barangay Tibagan, Bustos, Bulacan,
01:41were alerted while the residents living in the lower part of the Tuliahan River,
01:47such as Fairview, Quezon City, and several places in Valenzuela and Malabon.
01:51The water level in Lamesa Dam is still critical,
01:54until earlier this morning at 9 o'clock in the morning.
01:57The question is,
01:58is it possible for the water of Baguio and Habagat to spill on the ground,
02:02or is it possible for the water to escape from the so-called dams?
02:06We are not yet discarding the possibility of that,
02:10because we are still here.
02:12There are southwest monsoons,
02:13so we are still expecting rain within this watershed.
02:17That is why we are closely monitoring with these two dams.
02:21So if it is possible, before our rivers spill,
02:24our local DRRMOs are giving advice,
02:30so if they can give advice, we will follow it.
02:34The hope of the Albay Congressman, Joey Salceda,
02:40is that the hope is sleeping at work,
02:43and that information should be given early in the incoming season.
02:47We are monitoring 24 hours a day
02:52when there are such inclement weather events.
02:56So we want to let them know that we are not sleeping,
03:00and we want to let our countrymen know,
03:04especially those who are affected by floods,
03:08or calamities.
03:10Again, I just want to mention that as early as August 28,
03:14the hope of information is already out,
03:18in line with the possible tropical cyclone.
03:21In line with the effects of the Enteng Flood,
03:232,000 customers of Meralco have no electricity.
03:27Some lines of electricity in Cavite, Metro Manila, and Rizal were affected.
03:32Meralco is now trying to return the supply of electricity.
03:36It asked for a dispenser because it needs to follow a safety protocol during the rain.
