00:00She is a blogger and content creator where she shows her content on how to be a wise mom.
00:09And aside from that, she also makes contents about traveling and food.
00:14And this morning, we will be talking to mommy Jessica Rostino aka Nanay Jeka.
00:22Welcome, Nanay Jeka, here in Rise and Shine Philippines.
00:26Hello, good morning Rise and Shine Philippines. How are you?
00:31Yes, Nanay Jeka, please tell us how did you start being a blogger and content creator?
00:39And aside from being a mom, what are the other things that you are doing now?
00:47For most content creators, like me, we started during the pandemic, right?
00:54Those TikToks.
00:56So, personally, I started when I was looking for a real mom who uses a 13mm fabric conditioner
01:06that can create a TikTok trend. That's where I really started.
01:10So, you really need to use it.
01:13So, that's how I started, at home.
01:16Because of the pandemic, right?
01:18So, there.
01:19Then, it went on and on until the pandemic eased.
01:25We went to different locations.
01:27That's where I eat, where I give reviews.
01:30When I travel, I make travel guides as well.
01:33And so, as of now, I'm timing it and it's already registered as a business.
01:40And aside from that, aside from being a mom, aside from being a content creator,
01:45I'm a second-year law student, as of now.
01:49Wow, very well-rounded.
01:51Then, your evolution as a content creator,
01:54until you have a lot of awards,
01:56and you said that you also became a business.
01:59But as a content creator, I also understand that you need to be creative.
02:04Where do you get inspiration?
02:07From time to time, you have new contents to release.
02:11For sure, this is also based on your experiences.
02:14How do you build this?
02:16Can you take us on your creative journey?
02:22My content's focus is about inspiring moms like me.
02:26That's where it really started.
02:27It really started in motherhood.
02:29Usually, after giving birth,
02:32most parents like me lose their identity.
02:36Not all, but most of us.
02:38That's the first thing we feel after giving birth.
02:42The care of the kids, we forget our passion.
02:46So, my content started about urging moms to take one step at a time.
02:53To come back to their passion projects.
02:56For example, you love to travel.
02:58Or you love to cook.
03:01You love to pursue your career.
03:03Or passion projects like if you want to study or education.
03:09I don't give advices.
03:12I can't do that yet.
03:14Unless in the future, I become a lawyer.
03:17I usually share a part of my experiences.
03:21The lows, not all are perfect.
03:23The lows, the highs, everything.
03:27I try to be as informational as possible.
03:31That's what I want to be the center of my content.
03:35I want to be able to use it.
03:36I don't want to save it.
03:38Because it's helpful in the future.
03:41That's where I filter my content.
03:44Would this be beneficial to them?
03:47Does this have an essence to other people?
03:50Aside from me.
03:51That's how I try to make content.
03:56From your own experience.
03:58You're a hugo.
04:00You have a lot to relate to.
04:02For sure, especially for first-time moms.
04:04You said it's good to take one step at a time.
04:07And finding yourself again.
04:09Your passion, your career.
04:11While being a mom.
04:13And I also believe,
04:15you mentioned earlier,
04:17you're also a law student.
04:19How do you manage all of this?
04:23People always ask me this.
04:27I want to be authentic.
04:29And to tell everyone,
04:31it's not always perfect.
04:33Most of the time, we get hurt.
04:35But we have to make up for it.
04:37Treat oneself out.
04:39You can eat out.
04:41And everything.
04:43Balancing is super important.
04:46It's also important to have a really supportive family.
04:50And right people around you.
04:53For me, those are the ingredients
04:55why I struggle with most things.
04:59Being a content creator,
05:01it changed me in a lot of ways.
05:04Aside from changing my life,
05:07not just financially,
05:09but also my way of thinking.
05:11To be honest,
05:13I'm confused because
05:15I always see posts of other moms.
05:18To some communities,
05:20I am a member of
05:22quite a lot of mom communities.
05:24You know,
05:26anonymous posts
05:28asking for advice
05:30from those communities.
05:32That's where it started.
05:34Then I saw
05:36that these moms
05:38are asking
05:40that they are being abused
05:42together with their children
05:44but they don't know
05:46how to help them.
05:48So I advocate for standing up for them.
05:50I hope I can comment on
05:52what is the right law
05:54that will protect them.
05:56What can I do to help these people?
05:58Because information
06:00and education is key.
06:02If you know what you're doing,
06:04there's a flow.
06:06There are steps.
06:08Creating better laws,
06:10creating better protection for them.
06:12That's really my aim.
06:15Motherhood redirected me.
06:17That's why I took up the law.
06:19I also started advocating
06:21for women's health,
06:23fighting cervical cancer,
06:25spreading the right information
06:27about it.
06:29Content creation needs to be very demure,
06:31very mindful, and very responsible
06:33in creating
06:35what I put up
06:37in social media.
06:39It's amazing that
06:41you're using the power of
06:44social media platform
06:46to help your viewers
06:48and followers.
06:50You also won
06:52viral awards
06:54as one of the top 15 bloggers in the Philippines.
06:56You also used
06:58BeMom or Mom of the Year
07:00by Baby and Moms of PH
07:02in the Philippines.
07:04You also won Influencer Star of the Year.
07:06How do you feel
07:08recognizing
07:10all your contents?
07:12Women Empowerment,
07:14helping your fellow moms.
07:16How do you feel?
07:20It's really amazing.
07:22I can't describe it.
07:24Awards are
07:26cherry on top.
07:28It fuels our passion.
07:30I know that not only awards
07:32are the reason
07:34why a content creator is good.
07:36Awards like this
07:38pushes us
07:41to do better.
07:43I know that because of these awards,
07:45I am appreciated.
07:47I am being acknowledged.
07:49Thank you very much, Nanay Jeka,
