00:00I am joined by Robert Griffin III, James White, Field, Yates, Mina Kimes.
00:13All right, so first play we're going to look at, second and two, one of the Patriots' first
00:16offensive plays.
00:17You have me?
00:18Am I muted?
00:19Why am I muted?
00:20What's going on, everyone?
00:21Mike Kadlik, Taylor Kyles here.
00:22For CLNS Media, back with another edition of the Pat's Daily Podcast, powered by PrizePicks
00:28and GameTime.
00:29More from them later, a ton more from them later.
00:31Make sure you stay tuned for mine and Taylor's weekly PrizePicks towards the end of the show.
00:36A little inside baseball here from me and Taylor, what we're going to try and do every
00:40week, now that it is week one of the NFL season, is we're going to try to do a little bit of
00:47what we're going to try and do every week, now that it is week one of the NFL season.
00:53Every week, we're going to bring you an optimistic view on Thursdays of how the Patriots can
00:58beat their opponent, especially because, look, let's face it, we've talked about it, Taylor's
01:03eating seaweed, this team's not, this Patriots team is not one of the best in football.
01:09Their roster is poor, it's potentially a bottom five, and frankly, both locally and
01:17nationally, there's not a ton of optimism around this team.
01:20But as some of the more optimistic people in the region on the beach...
01:24People?
01:25Did you say people?
01:26Like, you and me?
01:28I guess Taylor's a lot more optimistic than me.
01:31Sometimes I'm there, sometimes I'm on the other side.
01:34You mellow me out.
01:35That's fair.
01:36I mend the fence, I think, between the pessimism and the optimism for the team.
01:40But we're going to use Taylor as our main focus here, to figure out how the Patriots
01:46can win these games.
01:48Because as I tweeted earlier, and it's a movie title and it's a saying around all of football,
01:54anything can happen on any given Sunday.
01:56And I truly believe that, and I don't just believe it, it's a fact.
01:59You see upsets happen all the time in college, in the pros.
02:03These are all professional athletes, and if it's done right, these teams, any team,
02:08can beat any other team on any given Sunday.
02:11So that's how we're going to treat our Thursday game previews.
02:14How the Patriots can beat their opponent, and this week, of course, it's the Cincinnati
02:18Bengals.
02:19Another sort of, I guess, housekeeping item, how we're going to do this year.
02:25Throughout the week, now that we have our game weeks, just kind of tell you guys our
02:29schedule.
02:30We'll tweet it out as well, and you guys will kind of see how it moves through.
02:33Wednesdays will be a mailbag, Thursdays will be this game preview on how the Patriots beat
02:38their opponent, Fridays we're going to have an opponent guest on to do some key matchups,
02:43and then Sundays we'll have our pre and post games and go from there.
02:45Then Mondays we'll have something quick, and then Tuesdays we'll have a film review,
02:49and then we'll be back around and we'll kind of review each game and go from there.
02:52So that's kind of where we're at now in our weekly Pats Daily schedule as we get into it.
02:56So Taylor, let's kick it off.
02:59How the heck do these Patriots beat the Bengals?
03:02We're going to use Taylor's keys to the game that he writes up on clmsmedia.com as well
03:06as kind of a guide for this, and then I'll give my opinion and I'll throw some stuff
03:10out there as well.
03:11But to start us off, Taylor, what is the number one key how the Patriots can upset the Cincinnati
03:16Bengals on Sunday out in Cincy?
03:19I'm just going to say one quick thing before we get into this.
03:22Have you ever seen someone sneeze on live TV?
03:26Oh, man.
03:27I just sneezed and muted myself, and I was like, if I was on a set and I had to sneeze,
03:32what would I do?
03:32Like, would I get it would look weird.
03:34And I'm like, I've never seen what the etiquette is.
03:36Yeah, I don't know why broadcast.
03:40I know.
03:41I know when you're like, if you're on like a broadcast, they have a cough button and
03:45it's basically just your mute button and you put that whenever you got to do something.
03:48But that's on like radio.
03:49That's not TV when there's something on you like you just got to hold it in.
03:54I guess we got to talk to Tom Curran and see.
03:56Yeah, we got to find that out long enough.
03:58Um, OK, so keys to the game.
04:01Broad overview real quick.
04:03Just things they need to do kind of like housekeeping notes.
04:06One thing really is the offense is going to be obviously the focal point here last season,
04:10especially turnovers, penalties, you know, self inflicted wounds.
04:14Those were a theme for the Patriots.
04:17And as bad as they were, there were plenty of times last season where you saw that they
04:21had a chance to win games.
04:23They just couldn't get it done.
04:24So a big key for me, especially after seeing the preseason where they struggled.
04:29I think they had six or eight penalties against the Eagles.
04:31And everyone's like, it's got to get cleaned up.
04:32They also got penalized a ton in joint practices the next week against the Panthers.
04:37Oh, actually, I'm sorry.
04:38It was against.
04:38Oh, my God, I'm getting the schedule mixed up.
04:40Oh, moving so fast.
04:41It was the Panthers.
04:42Yes, there's been Eagles.
04:43Yeah, Eagles.
04:44Everything was a lot better in the game.
04:45And we're thinking, OK, like Gerard Mayo got on his guys.
04:48We're improving next week against the Commanders.
04:51It's like three times as many penalties.
04:53It was 18 that they were called for.
04:54Not even that were accepted.
04:56Just an absolutely obscene number.
04:58That can't happen.
04:59Those are going to be some things I'm really keyed in on.
05:01Also, just pre-snap operation like Jacoby Bursette, making sure everybody gets out of
05:05the huddle and everything is done efficiently.
05:08Most of that was really Drake May, where we would see some of those issues.
05:11But even sometimes Jacoby Bursette, you'd see at times they'd have to reset or there
05:16would be some kind of issue.
05:17So I just want to see the operation look clean.
05:20I want to see no penalties, no self-inflicted wounds, pretty much.
05:25And then also Gerard Mayo, just to see how he handles a live exhibition, not exhibition,
05:30but a live game in the NFL where things matter.
05:33And game time decisions, where if you have a late game situation where you need to make
05:38some decisions on things that go to a head coach, not necessarily coordinator, how he
05:43handles those.
05:44And then we'll get into some of the other more specific ones.
05:46But really, I just want to see them play a clean game.
05:49Gerard Mayo said himself, this isn't a team that can beat themselves.
05:52There aren't a whole lot of teams or really any teams that can.
05:54But the Patriots, as one of the weaker offenses in the NFL, really cannot afford it.
05:59So I just want them to play some clean football and then see if they're able to hang with
06:03what's obviously a very high-powered Bengals offense and a very aggressive and well-coached
06:08Bengals defense.
06:09That part you mentioned, the game time or the game, those game decisions, right, is
06:14so crucial and something you can't really replicate.
06:17Even talking with Demarcus Covington down in Foxborough today, he mentioned that he
06:22feels ready because although he hasn't called a regular season game, he spent all summer
06:27watching games and pretending to call the game as it went through.
06:31Now, first of all, sicko.
06:34Second of all, a good idea in the grand scheme of things, because he even, he was kind of
06:37asked how he did it.
06:38And it went, offense calls a play.
06:41What would you run against that coverage?
06:43Offense runs a play.
06:43And even if they ran a different coverage, you just align yourself to what the next down
06:48the distance is and kind of go from there.
06:50But you can't really replicate that stuff.
06:53Actually, you just kind of have to get thrown into the fire and see how it gets done.
06:56And so Mayo mentioned earlier this offseason, Evan Rockstein, the quarterback's coach, he's
07:01going to rely on him as sort of his, you know, I'm paraphrasing here, but like his analytics
07:05guru and someone who's going to be in his ear and help with those third down, fourth
07:09down decision-making stuff.
07:11The other thing happens a little bit.
07:13Exactly.
07:13His mini little Ernie Adams.
07:15That's exactly what it is.
07:16And it'll, that'll probably come in, come in play too, with like, you know, when to
07:20call timeouts, you know, before, like there's some, there's small things that you can't
07:24replicate.
07:25It's, you know, we're going to call this, this timeout before the two minute warning,
07:27or we can call it after the two minute warning.
07:29How much time do we need here?
07:30How much time do we need there?
07:32Belichick talked about it in, you know, in the 28 to three Superbowl comeback where he
07:38knew they had X amount of time and X amount of drives to make up X amount of points.
07:43And that's all going in his head at a mile a minute.
07:45Like you need to be, uh, you need to be ready and be able to see that.
07:50Like, it's just not just going to come to you first game.
07:53So I'm very curious.
07:54I think it's, it's, this is why it's such a longer term rebuild because you can't expect
07:59a first year head coach to come in and do it and be successful right away.
08:03And it happens, but a lot, oftentimes you kind of got to take your licks and, uh, enroll
08:07with the punches.
08:08So, uh, that's sort of the overview Taylor, uh, but key matchup.
08:11Number one, I think this one's fairly obvious.
08:13I'll turn it over to you, but I'll sort of intro it.
08:15The Bengals have Joe Burrow.
08:17They have T Higgins and they have Jamar chase.
08:20Now Jamar chase was back at practice today.
08:22Uh, a limited participant, according to the injury report.
08:25Uh, I assume if he's out there, he's going to play.
08:28I think this is sort of a sign that they're getting an inch and closer.
08:31I was listening to Mike Petraglia and Alex Barth on the sports hub podcast the other
08:36day and tracks basically said, this tells me that he's going to go out there and he's
08:40going to play.
08:41So I'll take tracks for his word.
08:42So that big three is out there.
08:44The key to that is don't let them take over.
08:48How do they do that?
08:49How don't they let those three get the, you know, the massive chunk plays that this team,
08:53this offense is predicated on.
08:55So Jamar chase and T Higgins, obviously two guys that are big, they're fast, they're physical.
09:00They're great at the catch point and they can line up all over the field.
09:03So I think the biggest thing, like when they played in 2022, the Patriots played a very
09:08conservative defensive game plan because they had Marcus Jones and John Jones on the
09:13outside and miles Brian in the slot.
09:14So of course, those guys just don't match up size wise.
09:18It's difficult at the catch point because they can't quite get up there.
09:21So what the Patriots did was they basically played off coverage to invite the Bengals
09:25to throw underneath.
09:26This did work.
09:27The Bengals only had three explosive completions.
09:31Two were with Marcus Jones against T Higgins.
09:33I don't think we're going to see that this week.
09:35Hopefully we don't see that this week.
09:37And then one was to Trenton Irwin against like cover to that.
09:40You can kind of scrap that because it was very different situation that we're probably
09:43going to see.
09:44So today I asked DeMarcus Covington.
09:47Well, now that you have Christian Gonzalez, do you think it'll allow you to be a little
09:50bit more aggressive?
09:51He, I didn't really expect him to go into the game plan or anything, but I was curious
09:55what he would say.
09:56And he did mention that he trusts all those guys to play man coverage.
09:59And I'll say John Jones, he kind of got close to giving up an explosive play, but for the
10:03most part, he's competitive against bigger guys because he is really sound technique
10:08wise.
10:08He's competitive.
10:09He plays through the catch point and he's just a really smart player.
10:12So I'm not really nervous if he has to get matched up with either one of these guys outside.
10:16And if he does struggle, you have Alex Austin, you have Marco Wilson, maybe even Isaiah Bolden.
10:21If they decide to activate him from practice squad, just guys who have size that can kind
10:25of bulk up and give you a little bit more advantage in that respect.
10:29But at the end of the day, it's going to come down to Christian Gonzalez and how he gets
10:32deployed.
10:33Now, the way I see it, there's pretty much three ways they can use him.
10:37They can have, you know, their number one, go against the Bengals number one, because
10:40as good as T Higgins is, he's Robin Jamar chases, fat man, Jamar chases, a top five
10:45receiver, one of the best players period in the NFL.
10:49They can put Christian Gonzalez on him and say best on best.
10:52Then, you know, maybe we bracket T Higgins or show him more attention, or they decide
10:56to go with one of the really old school Bill Belichick philosophies where you say, hey,
11:01we're going to put Christian Gonzalez on T Higgins because that's your number two.
11:05This is our number one.
11:06Joe Burrow probably isn't going to go to him, although Higgins is still a good player.
11:10I think that Burrow will try to test that matchup maybe a couple times, just see what
11:14happens in some critical situations.
11:15And then you bracket Jamar chase bracket or however you want to deal with it.
11:19Basically, just take him out of the progression because schematically you're committing extra
11:24attention.
11:24And with Joe Burrow, like Demarcus Covington said, Burrow is going to find the open man.
11:29Tom Brady's not going to look at a guy who's bracketed unless it's like grunt, you know,
11:32and it's a critical situation.
11:34And you're just like, I trust this guy to make a play.
11:36Yeah.
11:37So in those situations, maybe you bracket him just to try to force Joe already go somewhere
11:41else.
11:42Or the third option is what the Patriots did in last season's opener against AJ Brown and
11:47Devante Smith put Christian Gonzalez on the boundary.
11:50So anytime it's a three by one formation, he kind of shipped coverage to the other side
11:55of the field.
11:55The Patriots don't do a ton of that because they play so much too high and cover too.
12:00That's not really so much a thing, but either way, in those isolated matchups where you
12:05really expect he's going to have space to work with, you decide, hey, whether it's T
12:08Higgins, Jamar chase, I'm going to put my guy there.
12:12What also makes this difficult is the fact that these guys, like I said, especially Jamar
12:15chase, we talked to Joe Goodberry about this in an episode that's dropping tomorrow.
12:19A lot of great contacts in that.
12:20Make sure you check it out.
12:21But Jamar chase plays a lot in slot as well.
12:24So if you want to go with the regular Patriots model where the slot corner is the slot corner,
12:28do you really want Marcus Jones going against Jamar chase?
12:31I personally don't.
12:33So there's different permutations and things to take into consideration.
12:36But what I think would be the best plan is Christian Gonzalez against T Higgins.
12:41Then you try to scheme Jamar chase out of the progressions.
12:44It's still difficult because you've got a lot of other good depth receivers for the
12:48Bengals.
12:48It's not going to be a walk in the park, but at the end of the day, you want to make an
12:51offense play left handed.
12:53And if Joe Burrow can't confidently go to T Higgins or Jamar chase, that's going to be
12:57huge for the Patriots and limiting what is obviously a very explosive passing attack.
13:01So if you can just keep those guys under 100 yards each, I think that will go a huge way
13:07in keeping this game at least competitive enough for the offense to have a chance late
13:11in the fourth quarter.
13:12100%.
13:12And I think you look at it too, where yes, the Bengals on paper and really just more
13:19than on paper on the field are a better team than the Patriots.
13:21And so when we're trying to find ways to win and how they do it, well, you got to shut
13:24out what is their bread and butter, which is that offense and that passing game.
13:29Well, are the Patriots arguably best unit on their feet on their team is their secondary
13:33with two solid safeties who can work in coverage as well as the boundary.
13:37And then obviously you have Christian Gonzalez and the rest of them.
13:40But I think you're right.
13:41I like that.
13:42Idea of take out the second guy.
13:45You don't need to worry about T Higgins, uh, with, with Christian Gonzalez and then use,
13:50and you can kind of throw everything else.
13:52You can throw the book at Jamar chase in a bunch of different ways.
13:54You can press them, you can pull off, you can bring guys over the top.
13:57You can bracket it.
13:58Like you can do all those sorts of things.
14:00And that just makes life that much harder for Joe Burrow, who first of all, is coming
14:04off an injury and hasn't played football in a long time.
14:07And you mix that with a, um, a guy in Jamar chase who we talk about has been holding out
14:11and hasn't been in practice.
14:12Now, look, I think he's gotten his work in.
14:15I think he's in shape and I think he'll, if they needed him to, he could play the entire
14:19game on Sunday.
14:20Will they, will they work them back in slowly?
14:22We'll have to wait and see, but taking it, taking advantage of that and taking advantage
14:26of the fact that him and borrow might not have gotten as much work in as they want to
14:29this summer.
14:30Um, it is a massive sort of, uh, sort of wrinkle to this whole thing and how they can shut
14:34that unit down.
14:35And a couple of other things.
14:36One, Joe good, where he did tell us that bro basically hinted that he and Jamar chase have
14:41been putting in work behind the scene, like their best friends, their college teammates.
14:44I'm not worried about their chemistry.
14:46It was really more of a question of how much is Jamar going to play.
14:49But if he's been working out like Joe good, where he told us, then I think that there's
14:54less concern about how much he's going to play.
14:56Excuse me.
14:57See, what would I do?
14:58How do you call it live TV?
15:01I don't know.
15:01I seriously need to ask Tom because if this ever happens, I'm screwed.
15:04But I think you just, I think you either just roll with it or when you're in that setting,
15:10like this is more laid back than NBC sports, Boston is.
15:13So like, you're not even thinking about coughing or hiccuping or do we imagine you had the
15:18hiccups?
15:19Oh, I would just have to leave.
15:21I would just have one more thing because I'm going to get myself side.
15:24I already got myself.
15:25Yeah.
15:25Yeah.
15:25I get it.
15:25One other thing is the Patriots.
15:27Like everybody always talks about using cover one double, which obviously was popularized
15:31because there was that mic'd up episode.
15:33I forget what it was where bill Belichick was talking to Chad Ochocinco and he said
15:37that he was playing one double 85, which is a play in the Patriots playbook where legitimately
15:42if there's one guy you want to take away, you commit your post safety help to that guy.
15:47Patriots don't play that nearly as much as people think they do.
15:49It's very rarely used.
15:51One of the times I saw it most often or them just using some type of actual bracket was
15:56against Jamar Chase's teammate in college, Justin Jefferson back in 2022.
16:02One of the only times I've seen Belichick in recent times legitimately say, no, this
16:08guy scares the crap out of me.
16:09We have to show extra attention to him.
16:11I think he did it to Andre Hopkins as well that season.
16:13Those are like two of the only occasions I've really seen them lean into it.
16:16So this could be one of those days where we see them say, you know what?
16:19We really have to make sure that Jamar Chase doesn't take this over.
16:22We trust you, Gonzo, but like we got to limit them.
16:25But either way, I think it's either of those strategies work.
16:28You double one guy and then you trust Gonzo on the other.
16:31As long as Gonzo plays the way we expect him to, that's upset alert because then the
16:36Bengals, their run game, I'm not very scared of because their line isn't very good, especially
16:42when it comes to really in general, but their interior specifically and the Patriots on
16:46the edges, you got Anthony Jennings and Jelani to buy and the Bengals don't run outside that
16:50much anyway.
16:50So I think if you can limit those two guys, it's going to go a huge way.
16:55But whatever the plan is, it's going to be fascinating because you don't really see two
16:58receivers like this very often where they have everything that you want in outside and
17:03inside targets.
17:04Right.
17:04All right.
17:04Before we get to our first ad read, I got to pull up this comment from the chat since
17:07we're live on air.
17:10LOL at Pat's beating Bengals.
17:12First of all, Patriots dynasty, you're supposed to be a Patriots fan.
17:16Second of all, if you listen from the top of the show and I'll reiterate it now, if
17:20people haven't been in the show the entire time, what we're doing here with these Thursday
17:25episodes as our game preview is we're going to outline a plan for how the Patriots can
17:29give themselves the best chance to win and beat, win against and beat their opponent
17:33because of how, uh, I don't want to say how bad because the season has started yet, but
17:39how, um, yeah, the expectations for the team are very low right now.
17:43So we want to give an optimistic look at how they can do it because as I said before, any
17:47given Sunday, these are all professionals.
17:49You make the right adjustments, you, you know, limit mistakes and all that.
17:53And all those cliches mixed with some matchup, you know, things that you can do against their
17:57offense, your defense, et cetera.
17:59There's a way to win.
18:00So, um, I know that Pat's dynasty is probably just chirping and not being real, but there's
18:04a way that they can do this.
18:06Even if I don't think they're going to, even if Taylor might think they're going to, like,
18:10I don't think the Patriots are going to win this game.
18:11We'll get to that towards the end of the show, but there's a way.
18:16So, and also the Patriots played the Bengals close.
18:20They only lost by four points and remandary Stevenson fumbled in the low red zone and
18:25Jacoby for sets team blew out the Bengals in 2022.
18:29The running game was a big part of that, but Jacoby had almost a perfect game.
18:32So let's not make it seem like the Bengals are this unbeatable juggernaut.
18:37Like they're a very good team, but at the same time, they played them close with the
18:41staff that they have now.
18:42And with the team that they had that I would argue was worse in 2022, because Mac wasn't
18:46what he was now, but I still like Jacoby better as someone who's comfortable in the
18:51offense he's in.
18:52And I still do like DeMario Douglas, KJ Osborne, Jalen Polk.
18:56I like that combination better than I liked the group that they had back then.
19:00But yeah, bottom line, I just don't think it's as crazy to think that the Patriots will
19:04even be competitive as it is that people were kind of making it out to me.
19:08But I had this point written down and I was going to try and squeeze it in somewhere as
19:12we went through it.
19:14But the Bengals haven't started hot the last couple of years.
19:17Like the Zach Taylor, Joe Burrow teams start slow.
19:20I think Tragg's had it like they're one in nine in the first two weeks of the season
19:26in the first five years or something.
19:27I might be wrong.
19:28That might be wrong, but they've started fourth.
19:30It's something like that.
19:32They've started seasons one and one, oh, and two.
19:34They haven't been great to start years.
19:36Now they hit the ground running later on.
19:38They went to the Super Bowl.
19:39They went to the AFC title game, things like that.
19:41So if you're going to play the Bengals, you want to get them now.
19:44New team with the Patriots.
19:46Nobody knows what you guys do yet.
19:47Mixed with Burrow coming up.
19:49All this stuff that we've talked about.
19:50If they have a chance to beat the Bengals this year, week one seems like the best place
19:54to do it.
19:55All right, Taylor, quick words from our friends over at PrizePix because the NFL is back tonight,
20:03ladies and gentlemen.
20:04And PrizePix is America's number one daily fantasy sports app with over five million
20:10active members.
20:11It's the easiest and most exciting way to play daily fantasy sports.
20:15And unlike the other apps, it's just you against the numbers.
20:18And all you got to do is pick more or less on two to six player staff projections and
20:23watch the winnings roll in right now on PrizePix.
20:25One Caleb Williams passing yard gets you a win on PrizePix.
20:29And it's not just tonight.
20:30It's not just this weekend.
20:32It's every week in September.
20:33So literally you make your lineup and you just throw a Caleb Williams.
20:37If you want to get the odds up, put Caleb Williams in for more than one passing yard.
20:43Unless they bench him for Tyson Bagent, he's going to get one passing yard.
20:46Unless, God forbid, something that happened to Aaron Rodgers happens to Caleb this year,
20:50that's going to hit.
20:52So throw that in your thing.
20:53Me and Taylor are going to give our PrizePix at the end of the show.
20:57So make sure to tune in for all of that on what we think is going to happen in the Patriots
21:00game.
21:00We're obviously going to throw Caleb in there.
21:03But PrizePix, again, it's the only real money daily fantasy platform with injury insurance as
21:08well.
21:08So your lineups stay in play, even if one of your players gets injured.
21:11So it's the perfect way to have some fun.
21:14Again, we'll give our picks later.
21:16But I actually, you know what, Taylor?
21:18I'll read mine now because I already set one up.
21:19Four Bengals Chiefs tonight.
21:21I got Pat Mahomes more than 271 passing yards.
21:25I have Zay Flowers more than 54 and a half receiving yards.
21:29And I have Derek Henry to score more than half a touchdown.
21:32A lot of mores.
21:33A lot of stuff's going to happen tonight.
21:34But Pat goes crazy.
21:37BC's Zay Flowers goes crazy.
21:39Derek Henry punches it in the end zone and you win on PrizePix.
21:42So download the app today.
21:43Use code CLNS and get $50 instantly when you play five bucks.
21:47That's code CLNS on PrizePix to get $50 instantly.
21:51When you play five bucks, you don't even need to win to receive the $50 bonus.
21:54It's guaranteed.
21:56PrizePix, run your game.
22:00And we always have to fix our boxes.
22:06And I don't know why.
22:09But we can get our brand back up as we go.
22:11Because like I said, Taylor, this is a free-throwing conversation.
22:15And since we...
22:16So as we talked about last night...
22:17Everything is normal.
22:18Everything is fine.
22:20But when we pre-recorded, you have Amit go in and see, there he is.
22:24He's back there.
22:25He's doing his thing.
22:25Unless that was you because that definitely wasn't me.
22:27But regardless, that's PrizePix.
22:29I mentioned my picks for tonight's game.
22:30I'm going to tweet that out later as well.
22:32So you guys can all follow along and get that going that way.
22:35All right.
22:36Let's get back to Patriots' keys to beating the Bengals.
22:40Because again, there is a way that they can do this.
22:42So number two, your number two key on how the Patriots can get a win on Sunday, Taylor.
22:47So my number two key has to do with controlling the line of scrimmage.
22:53Which is a big point that Gerard Mayo emphasized when he talked to us.
22:56It was one of the first points of emphasis.
22:58And it sounds cliche.
22:59But cliches exist for a reason.
23:01Because they make sense.
23:03Now for the Patriots' offensive line, obviously that is going to be much easier said than done.
23:08Obviously, Mike Nwunu, you know, not the best at tackle.
23:12I don't love this fit there.
23:13But he's still good.
23:14Like he's not going to get your quarterback hit the vast majority of the time.
23:18And he is still a dominant run blocker in the right schemes.
23:21Leighton Robinson beside him.
23:23I do have some optimism there.
23:26I'm sorry, two weeks ago against the Commanders, pad level really was an issue.
23:29And it got him put on skates a couple times.
23:32That can't happen the way it did in that last preseason game.
23:35Because it led to some pretty disastrous outcomes.
23:38But for the most part, he had a strong summer.
23:40And it's the reason that he was competing with City.
23:41So plus, I've been wanting to see Leighton Robinson next to Mike Nwunu
23:46since Leighton Robinson was drafted.
23:47So, you know, in that vein, I think there's some optimism.
23:50Especially because I think the run game is where the Patriots are going to have to lean into.
23:54If they have any shot at staying competitive with this Bengals team,
23:57they cannot get one dimensional because they simply don't have the weaponry.
24:01Everybody knows that.
24:02And then David Andrews, of course, I have to throw him in there.
24:05Gerard Mayo called him out, mentioned that he's one of the toughest players he's ever
24:09been around.
24:10We all know that David Andrews, as good as they come, especially as a run blocking center.
24:14He finished last season as one of the best run blocking interior linemen, I think, period.
24:19And this season, we really haven't seen any drop off from him in that area.
24:23Although I will say it's a bit concerning that Nick Leverett has been
24:26rotating at center as much as he has.
24:28I don't want to read too much into it.
24:29But at the same time, it's like David Andrews is getting up there in age.
24:33So you wonder if maybe they're going to be rotating him just to make sure that he's not
24:36taking too many snaps early on.
24:39I don't know.
24:39But I think that's at least notable that we have seen a lot of Leverett at center.
24:43But the real question mark is on the left side, where Juso Correfor is now left tackle
24:49because the Darian Lowe is unlikely to play.
24:51He's dealing with abdominal injury.
24:53Sidney So wasn't even on the practice field.
24:55He hasn't practiced since suffering an ankle injury in the preseason finale.
24:59Looks like it's actually going to be either just Michael Jordan or a combination of Michael
25:03Jordan and Nick Leverett.
25:05Those guys have been rotating beside Juso Correfor at left guard next to David Andrews.
25:10But really, Jordan seems like he's been the one in practice who's taking the top reps.
25:14And then even when Nick Leverett rotates in, it feels like he's not getting quite as many.
25:18Right.
25:19So obviously, ring-a-ding-ding, you're probably going to get a practice squad elevation for
25:23Michael Jordan.
25:24I need to look at his preseason tape a little bit closer.
25:26I do think it's interesting.
25:27He does give you more size than Nick Leverett does.
25:31And I also think he's a pretty good athlete.
25:33But still, Nick Leverett seemed like their top backup for the interior period.
25:37So I was a little bit confused by why that is exactly.
25:40I guess we'll see on Sunday what exactly the plan was.
25:43But if the Patriots can control the line of scrimmage in the run game.
25:46And then in the pass game, obviously, you got to stay out of obvious passing situations
25:51if possible.
25:51And if you do, it can't be long yardage.
25:54Because you cannot drop back and let Trey Hendrickson, the headliner of this Bengals
25:58defensive front, just take Juso Correfor to town.
26:01Juso had over twice as high of a pressure rate allowed on the left side this preseason
26:06than he did on the right.
26:07Small sample size, but it goes to show that he's clearly more comfortable on one than
26:10the other.
26:11You can give him chip help.
26:13You can get extra blockers.
26:14You can get play action, quick game, whatever.
26:16But if the Bengals take away Jacoby Brissette's first read, that's all Trey Hendrickson needs
26:20to get home.
26:21So these guys really need to be able to lean on the ground game and be unpredictable with
26:25their offense.
26:27Other side of the ball, Patriots defensive line.
26:29O'Shane Ziminez actually was a full participant today.
26:32That's huge.
26:32Joshua Uche is still limited with a foot injury.
26:35He dealt with a foot injury last year as well.
26:37So maybe you get a little bit more on the edge.
26:39Because I'm not super confident in the edge rushing group.
26:43Now, Dietrich Wise did have a really strong preseason in both of his sacks.
26:47Actually, two sacks and like 15 pass rushes, which is pretty ridiculous.
26:51But, you know, goes to show the Wiley vet.
26:54If he plays on the edge and then maybe have O'Shane Ziminez on the other side, I think
26:58that's decent in obvious passing situations.
27:00But really, I think the key will be Keon White and then a little bit of Dietrich Wise on
27:04the inside.
27:05Get them inside.
27:06Hell yeah.
27:07Yep.
27:07That's where like Keon White was gangbusters this preseason.
27:10Dietrich Wise took the Bengals interior at town back in 2022, was literally throwing
27:15guys around.
27:16And that interior is the same.
27:17It's still Cordell Wilson, still old friend Ted Karras, who is still one of the better
27:21centers in football.
27:22But, you know, if you get any pass rusher one on one on a center, it's usually not going
27:26to go in your favor.
27:27And then Alex Kappa as well.
27:29Kappa and Wilson were two of the worst pass blocking guards in football last season.
27:34Basically bottom 10 or bottom 12 in pretty much every metric.
27:37So you're hoping that Keon White, Dietrich Wise, maybe even get O'Shane Ziminez in some
27:41pass rush situations to really attack and exploit those guys.
27:45Because Orlando Brown's not a great player, but he's not bad playing.
27:49He starts with the imagination.
27:50He's solid.
27:51And Trent Brown, if he's locked in, we know what he can do.
27:53You're really not going to beat Trent Brown very often.
27:56So if they can put the pocket in Burrow's lap a little bit, I think that's going to
28:01be a major key.
28:02And then just be disciplined on the edges.
28:03Don't go inside and give Burrow an escape hatch where he can scramble and make big plays
28:08when you actually have good coverage on the back end.
28:10So again, it's cliche, but it's true.
28:13The Patriots can push the pocket and then the run defense.
28:16I think that kind of goes without saying.
28:17Yeah, the Bengals work.
28:18I've never really been a very good run game under Joe Burrow and Zach Taylor and the Patriots
28:24have an elite run defense that didn't lose any of its key players.
28:26So just to acknowledge that I don't think they're going to have any trouble there.
28:29That's the one matchup where the Patriots get an undoubted W is their run defense against
28:34the Bengals.
28:35Everything else Bengals probably have the edge, but there's ways to kind of to get there.
28:38And the one game on both sides are the advantages for the Patriots.
28:41Yeah, that's a good point.
28:42I was going to, I wanted to kind of get to that and hammer that home too on that side
28:45of the, on that side.
28:46No, you're good.
28:47But just on the, on the interior pressure, like again, you look at, at, since he's tackles
28:52and it's Orlando Brown, Trent Brown and Marius Mims who's coming back from injury.
28:56But I think he was limited again today as well.
28:59But we'll see that he's a, he's a rookie, but it's Trent Brown.
29:02And like you said, it's week one, a little motivation for trend against the Patriots,
29:05that whole thing.
29:06Like he's probably going to be fine out there.
29:08Orlando Brown can, can do his thing.
29:10And the Patriots pass rushers on the outside from the edge, obviously lose a step without
29:15Matthew Judon taking away one side.
29:18And then you kind of go to the other side with when it was Judon, he was kind of freeing
29:23up Josh Uche.
29:23They were working off each other.
29:25Now it's, it's Uches and Menes.
29:27It's all kind of B players instead of an eight player.
29:29So that's why you want to bring it up the middle against that interior.
29:33And you have Dietrich Weiss, who you already mentioned it reach havoc against the last
29:37time.
29:37And Keon White is basically Dietrich Weiss Jr.
29:40In my opinion, right now, he's someone who can line up everywhere outside, inside and
29:44get after the quarterback.
29:45So I'm looking forward to see how that can disrupt that can help disrupt the Bengals
29:49passing game along with the defensive backs, like you mentioned.
29:52But on offense, it's, it's all about running the ball to me.
29:57You said it, but like, I think of it and kind of mirror and not mirroring it, but pairing
30:02it with the past game.
30:03You need to run the ball in this game to even give yourself a chance to establish a pass
30:08or run a play action play.
30:09Because if you, if you're just at, if you go down early and you're just asking Jacoba
30:13to drop back four or five wide, you're screwed.
30:16Like this game's over from the start and you need to get into, you need to establish it
30:20early.
30:20You need Ramond to go, go, go.
30:22And I look at those Alex van Pelt offenses ran by or ran through Nick Chubb in Cleveland
30:29the last couple of seasons.
30:30And that's how they succeeded was through that run game.
30:33Then they pair the pass off of it.
30:35Jacoba needs to know where he's going to go with the ball pretty much ASAP.
30:38And I think that's why it's better for him to start the season early because he's familiar
30:42with the game and he knows where to go and he knows how to get through his reads quickly
30:45than someone like Drake may, who will likely be more, I guess, more willing to improvise.
30:53Against the defense.
30:53Who's going to get after him with these pressure packages.
30:56So you got to run the football.
30:57You got to use, what'd you say?
30:59Yeah.
30:59Which we're going to get to it.
31:01I do have one more thing that I did forget to mention.
31:04Yeah.
31:04So the Bengals had a lot of success against the Bengals run game.
31:07The Bengals haven't had a good run defense.
31:09They were one of the worst in the league last year.
31:11Bottom 10 and EPA per play and positive EPA rate allowed.
31:15Basically just consistency and explosiveness.
31:17They weren't very good at either last year, but the Bengals playing in the opener last
31:22year, they ran left a ton.
31:24They didn't always actually go that direction.
31:27A lot of it was either directed to the left or cutting back left towards Trey Hendrickson.
31:33Trey Hendrickson is one of the most prolific pass rushes in the NFL.
31:35He has been going back to when he was with the saints.
31:38He is not a good run defender.
31:40Most of the guys on this Bengals offensive or defensive line aren't very good run defenders.
31:45Like Sheldon Rankin's a guy that David Andrews mentioned multiple times when we talked to him.
31:49Don't sleep on him.
31:50The Patriots were interested in him in the offseason.
31:53Really explosive, big and nimble guy.
31:56Like he's a fun player to watch, but he's not a very good run defender because he's
31:59very aggressive.
32:00Sometimes we'll just shoot gaps.
32:01And if you're patient like Ramond Ray is like Antonio Gibson is, then you can still exploit
32:06the fact there's a massive gap if you just don't let the big bowling ball in the backfield
32:10take you out.
32:11And then BJ Hill, solid player, but not really one of those guys that you focus on in the
32:15game plan or you lose sleepover.
32:17Sam Hubbard, fine player.
32:18I'm not really worried about him against Mike and Wendy.
32:20So I think it's going to be a lot of runs that either go towards or cut back left.
32:25Again, take advantage of Trey Hendrickson.
32:28And yeah, I just think the run game is the best way to go in this plan.
32:31And Ramond Ray Stevenson and Antonio Gibson looked really good in this wide zone scheme
32:35this summer.
32:36Jarrod Mayo has mentioned that he really likes what he's seen from the run game going back
32:41to training camp, but also how they progressed.
32:43So they've expressed a lot of confidence in this ground game.
32:46Now we're going to get a chance to prove we will wrap our Patriots versus Bengals.
32:52How to beat Cincy up in just a few minutes.
32:54We'll give a couple more keys to the game, and then we'll give you our prize picks for

34:27I'd never heard of them in my life.
34:29Me either, Taylor.
34:30I didn't even know it was called Pacor Stadium.
34:33I don't know why I knew it was called Pacor Stadium, but I did know it was called Pacor
34:37Stadium.
34:39Maybe it was.
34:41Yeah, I think so.
34:42I think it was just named after the owner.
34:44And then they did not want the team to be named after him.
34:47And they were like, Oh, yeah, sure.
34:49Okay.
34:50Yeah, right.
34:51We talked about the Browns.
34:53Oh, wait.
34:53No, I'm talking.
34:54Wait, I'm talking about the Browns.
34:55Damn it.
34:56The same family.
34:57Same family to the chat.
35:00The price top $30 overnight.
35:02Yes, it did.

35:23app.
35:23And that is a cheap ticket to go to Patriots.
35:26First bangles.
35:27Have a little treat.
35:29Yeah, I don't know why I called it a treat, but I'm kind of people like treats.
35:33Treat dogs like treats.
35:35My cat likes treats.
35:36What's your cat's name?
35:38Her name is Tickle.
35:39We call her T.
35:41It's so the show Young Justice.
35:43It's for comic book nerds.
35:44If you watch Young Justice, there's this guy called Claire in the Witch Boy.
35:47He's like a demon, and his anchor is a cat named Tickle.
35:53And then when we were going to get a cat, Liz and I watched it together.
35:56I introduced it to her, and we were hooked.
35:58And when we were getting a cat, I was like, we got to name her Tickle because we bought it.
36:02And now, yeah, she doesn't answer to it.
36:05She has like a million nicknames, and she doesn't respond to her actual name anymore.
36:10That's so funny.
36:11All right, it's 544.
36:13We have 16 minutes before the Patriots beat guys come on at 6 p.m.
36:17So make sure if you're watching us, stay tuned on here and hang out with Alex and Brian.
36:21They'll give their takes on Pat's bangles this Sunday.
36:23But we're going to give a few more keys to the game, how the Pats can beat the bangles.
36:27We will give our prize picks for the game, and then we'll wrap it up there.
36:29So Taylor, you gave three keys to the game on clnsmedia.com.
36:33The first one was don't let the big three take over.
36:35The second one was to control the line of scrimmage.
36:37And number three is have answers for defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo's
36:41pressure packages for that Bengals defense.
36:44Break it down for us.
36:44Let's hear why that is a key in the game.
36:47Yeah, so one of the other things that Mayo really stressed was the fact that Lou Anarumo's
36:51defense sends pressure from all over the place, and you really don't know where it's coming from.
36:55They split off the slot.
36:56I was watching.
36:57They'll send the slot, and they'll send a safety.
37:00So you got like the pocket collapsing.
37:01I don't think they're going to do that against reset.
37:03Really.
37:04They do that against more mobile quarterbacks, but really just speaks to the flexibility
37:07of their pressure packages.
37:09And when Jacoby reset face these pressure packages.
37:12Now you can look at my scouting report.
37:15I had a bunch of tweets kind of detailing what the game plan was.
37:18But when Jacoby reset was under center, basically, they would either blitz their linebackers or
37:23green dog.
37:24A green dog is basically if your coverage assignment and man is blocking, that's your
37:28go to fire downhill and blitz.
37:30So basically, it's like, oh, my guy's blitzing.
37:32I'm going to have one more because he's worried about somebody else.
37:34You saw a lot of that under center with man coverage on the outside.
37:37One on one opportunities.
37:39Jalen Polk, Taequann Thornton, Pop Douglas.
37:42Like that's where you want to see them really shine and get their opportunities and their
37:45big plays.
37:46And then in obvious passing situations, what you'd see sometimes is either cover zero.
37:52So they literally load up the line of scrimmage.
37:54They have all their defensive backs deep, and they're basically like, yeah, just throw
37:58it as fast as you can.
37:59But they run it like the Patriots, where their cover zero isn't literally we're sending
38:04everyone based on where the offensive line slides.
38:07If the line slides towards certain players, they'll pop out.
38:11Basically, what that does is take away the middle.
38:13So what does everybody want to do?
38:14Like if you're playing Madden and somebody is playing cover zero, what do you want to
38:18do?
38:18Hit a slam because it's towards the middle of the field.
38:20If you catch it, there's no one there, right?
38:22There's no one there.
38:23What that does is I think Jamie Collins has had a few plays off this.
38:26You pop out, and if someone wants to just let it out quick over the middle, you're right
38:29there.
38:30You can bat it down, or you can even pick it off if you're like some kind of freak athlete.
38:33But what they'll also do is they'll show cover zero with a double mug look.
38:38So again, like you got all the defenders on the line of scrimmage sometimes, but this
38:41will just be the linebackers in the middle.
38:43They'll rotate to some type of split field zone coverage, and those linebackers are going
38:48to pop out into zones, but they'll blitz a cornerback.
38:52So you're expecting it to come from one of the six guys on the line of scrimmage.
38:55Instead, it comes from the corners, which can create confusion because then the tackle's
38:59like, do I press down inside?
39:01Because basically in pass protection, you don't want someone getting through the middle.
39:06You'd rather them have the furthest course to the quarterback so he has time to throw.
39:09He can adjust, whatever.
39:11So what happened when Jacoby played the Bengals the last time in 2022, he did a really good
39:17job against these looks.
39:18He was calm.
39:19He was poised, the things you expect from Jacoby.
39:21He found the open man.
39:22The one time he screwed up was when I think Jedrick Wills was supposed to block down,
39:27but he blocked outside and a free rusher got right to Jacoby Brissett.
39:31I don't know why, but he was like getting brought down and tried to throw and then basically
39:37popped out and it got, it wasn't intercepted.
39:39I think it was technically a fumble and then a recovery, but it was ugly.
39:42But then earlier in the game, he had a similar play where an unblocked rusher came up the
39:46middle.
39:47He tried to throw to his running back, but the edge rusher appealed with the running
39:52back.
39:52So he didn't have anyone to throw to.
39:53He stopped himself.
39:55The throwing motion caught the defender who was blitzing him to jump.
39:58He went around that guy and threw a slant to Amari Cooper.
40:02Cooper didn't catch it, but the ball was on the money.
40:04And it's that kind of thing where you want to see more of the latter, where Jacoby Brissett
40:07has those answers to the test.
40:09Where Louie Anarumo is not going to make things easy.
40:11He's going to throw different looks.
40:13He's going to threaten your, your offensive line and protection and be like, all right,
40:17yeah, you may know what you want to do.
40:19Pre-snap a post-snap.
40:20Is everyone going to execute the right way?
40:22And if they don't, who's going to be able to make the best out of that situation?
40:26Jacoby for the vast majority of the time is going to get the best play possible, but you
40:30need to make sure he also doesn't put the ball in harm's way and try to make plays.
40:34He should, because Jacoby is good about that.
40:35For the most part, Mayo said, like, he's a good decision maker.
40:39He protects the ball.
40:40Every once in a while, Jacoby loses his damn mind and we'll do something where you're just
40:44like, dude, no, no.
40:45He turns into Jameis Winston.
40:48Every once in a while.
40:48It doesn't happen very often.
40:50Like, and I know in the preseason there was the interception.
40:53I've talked about it ad nauseum.
40:54That was not his fault.
40:56You can blame him for being aggressive.
40:57You cannot blame him for being picked because Austin Hooper moved on a play where usually
41:01they have good chemistry on.
41:03Um, but yeah, I, bottom line is Jacoby needs to protect the ball, keep this offense in
41:08a positive situations pre-snap.
41:10And then if things don't go his way, he's got to make the right decisions and either
41:14capitalize.
41:14If he sees a busted coverage or some opportunity, and if things don't go his way, be able to
41:19eat it and move on to live the next down.
41:22So Louie and a remote, very smart, very tricky, but I think Jacoby Brissett is well equipped
41:27to handle those pressure schemes.
41:29Just got to see it get done.
41:30Well, that's, that's where, again, looking at this through the lens of, okay, how do
41:35the Patriots actually pull this off?
41:37It's not Jacoby saying effort and being aggressive and trying to make something out of nothing
41:42all the time.
41:43That's how you lose this game.
41:44Like there is a recipe and it's being protecting the football and offense, being careful and
41:49running, you know, getting, getting your offensive production through the run game.
41:52And then when you do have to pass, like you mentioned, Jacoby's, uh, success for lack
41:57of a better term against this and a remote defense and the ability to know and have seen
42:01it before and van Pelt's ability to have known and seen it before is what's going to help
42:06them find those answers to that test.
42:08Right.
42:08And not only is it throwing into the blitz, but knowing, knowing that when you throw into
42:12the blitz, they might have someone know that you're going to throw into the blitz and know
42:15where the next answer to the test is.
42:17And it gets, it gets involved there.
42:19And I know that, uh, it's exactly, it's a chess match and you need to, they need to
42:25be prepared to know that next move and go from there.
42:27And again, and Jacoby even mentioned member this week, he was like, yeah, but then even
42:31when Deshaun was playing, he watched the film to see how they, what answers the bangles
42:36had the things that Kobe did well.
42:38So like, you know, he's no spring chicken.
42:40Jacoby knows how this shit works.
42:42So yeah, it is.
42:44It's incredible though.
42:45Like how that works, because it's like, how do you get your step ahead?
42:48When everyone, everyone has access to the film, when you watch the film and suddenly,
42:52Oh, we know that they're going to throw it and throw here when that, when we see blitz.
42:56So now we need to be able to cover that.
42:57But there's always, there is always an answer.
43:00You might just not know the answer because if someone comes to the best answer, a hundred
43:04percent.
43:05And that's, that's, that's not what the Patriots have right now compared to the bangles.
43:09So that's why you need to be on your Ps and Qs, but it's going to be fun.
43:13It's going to be interesting to see how they do that at the end of the day.
43:16I think, I think you're on the money with, again, don't let those guys on offense take
43:21over the Patriots, have the horses in the back end to do it.
43:24Controlling the line of scrimmage is probably the hardest part here.
43:26And that's, what's going to be, you know, probably the number one key to the game at
43:30the end of the day is the Patriots offensive line.
43:31And if that can hold up enough for new England to put some points on the board.
43:36And then number three, it's, it's kind of, it's kind of similar in that, you know, having
43:42answers to, to the pressure that the bangles are going to bring and not, and having Jacoby
43:46not throw picks, don't have penalties, play smart football, because that's sort of the
43:51overarching thing.
43:52If they don't play smart football and they're not on their Ps and Qs and they're not like
43:56tight on it, they're probably going to lose the game because those are the little things
43:59that have to happen in order for them to win this football game.
44:02So there's a lot of familiarity for the offense.
44:05The defense, I'm really not that worried about.
44:07I think as long as guys perform the way we expect, the game plan will be good enough
44:11and there'll be fine.
44:12Van Pelt, Scott Peters, like TT McCartney, they've seen this Bengals defense multiple
44:17times for multiple seasons.
44:20You know, there's that.
44:21But at the end of the day, the players are going to have to actually be able to execute
44:24the game.
44:25Absolutely.
44:25All right.
44:26Well, that's our keys to the game on how the Patriots can upset the Bengals on Sunday night.
44:31We're not going to give our predictions here, but we're going to give them in our Friday
44:35episodes, which we already recorded with Joe Goodbury of Bengals on the Brand.
44:38So you can check that out tomorrow.
44:39That's going to come out on Friday.
44:41A really fun conversation with him.
44:43That's where you can get our predictions, our game picks for the game.
44:45But on Thursday, what we're going to do is give our prize picks.
44:49So again, I mentioned it in the ad read and that's kind of a, it's half scripted, half
44:55real, but help us out and head over to prize picks and use code CLNS new users.
44:59Again, you get $50 instantly when you play just five bucks.
45:02And as I mentioned to you, don't need to win that $5 bet.
45:06You just deposit it and then they give you 50 bucks on top.
45:08So you can come in, play the prize picks.
45:10I gave the game the picks from earlier, but we're going to get Patriots picks here too
45:14every week, Taylor.
45:15So I'm going to, I'm going to find them every week and I'll give you what I'm thinking and
45:21you tell me yes or no, and your opinion on it.
45:23So this week I'm going to just do two, because as I mentioned in the ad read, we compare
45:29the third one with the Caleb Williams over half a passing yard, which are more than half
45:34a passing yard, which should get wins more than one half passing yard is one of the,
45:41one of the picks here.
45:42But the other two, I'm going with T Higgins more than 57 and a half yards.
45:47And the reason is there's a chance chase doesn't play.
45:50And even if he does play, I think he's going to have a little bit of a snap count limit.
45:56I think they're still going to try and ease them in.
45:57Even if he is ready and ultimately, even with Jamar chasing the game, T Higgins can
46:02still go for 60 yards in a game.
46:04Like, like it's nothing.
46:05So I think 57 and a half is a low number for him.
46:08And I'm going to pick him to go more than that.
46:10What do you say?
46:12So he had 128 yards on eight catches and a touchdown the last time these teams played,
46:21but he was going up against Marcus Jones.
46:23I think if, so if we go with my game plan, I'm assuming that my game plan is what they're
46:28going to use where you put Christian dollars on T Higgins.
46:30I really like T Higgins.
46:32Is it going to catch like 60 yards on Gonzo?
46:35Cause if chase doesn't play as much and we still think he's going to play, but if he
46:38doesn't play a ton, that just means Gonzo is definitely going to be on T Higgins there.
46:43So, and if they don't, maybe they bracket.
46:44So yeah, I 60 is not a ton and he is still a very good player.
46:48That's that can be like one or two plays for him.
46:50I'm going to go under though.
46:52Okay.
46:53And the second pick here, pop Douglas, more than 38 and a half yards.
46:57I think they're going to use him in the, in the game.
47:00He's going to be the center of attention on offense.
47:02And even if he is, I think he's going to go over 38 and a half.
47:05So you say more, how are they going to use pop on Sunday?
47:08Quick, quick little nugget.
47:09What you think before we get out of here?
47:10I think he's going to be one of their answers to man coverage.
47:12I think he's going to get some manufactured touches.
47:14Like we saw him get some screens.
47:16Clearly they want to get the ball in his hands.
47:17Maybe even a trick play.
47:19Maybe let's get, let's, let's we'll tell the listeners that are our bet.
47:24Me and Taylor have a friendly wager.
47:27Taylor has an opinion that Alex van Pelt week.
47:31One is going to throw the bag at the Cincinnati defense with Lou Anna Romo
47:35and those guys and have over one and a half or more than one and a half trick plays in the game.
47:42I'm taking under, I think they need to be more careful.
47:44I think they need to be careful to win this game.
47:46But Taylor thinks more than one and a half.
47:48I think less than one and a half.
47:49So we have a friendly wager on that.
47:51So you can keep tabs on that as well and give us crap on it.
47:53And let us know what you think in the comments too.
47:55And we're going to keep it going next week because they actually did empty the bag.
47:58The Browns last year against the Seahawks.
48:00It was one of the coolest game plans I've ever seen.
48:02Like, you know, the double pump screen in the middle thing.
48:04Yeah.
48:04We scored on that.
48:05Like they were, it was a wild game plan.
48:08So we're going to keep this going next week.
48:10But yeah, I think that pop Douglas, we mentioned this with Joe Goodberry.
48:13Mike Hilton's a very good slack corner.
48:15I think DeMario Douglas's skills, his movement ability, his quickness, his burst.
48:19I think they're going to give Hilton a lot of trouble because he's a bigger slack corner.
48:22He's not really nimble as much as like a Teron Johnson or, you know,
48:26like a Trent McDuffie necessarily who are still both big guys.
48:29But I think Mike Hilton's a little bit thicker.
48:31So I do think that pop in those man covered situations is going to be a guy that they go to
48:35to win those one-on-one matchups.
48:37And for him, that's like, I think he could get a couple explosive plays.
48:40And if you do look at that, you got 40 yards already.
48:43So again, adding in the manufacturer touches, I feel like he's going to get,
48:47I could definitely see him exceeding.
48:50All right.
48:50So our Patriots daily prize picks, even though Taylor doesn't agree with one of them
48:54is T Higgins, more than 57 and a half yards.
48:57Pop Douglas, more than 38 and a half yards.
49:00And Caleb Williams over half a passing yard,
49:02which is the easiest one on prize picks this weekend.
49:05You can get that Caleb tile for the entire month of September.
49:08So make sure you use it, download prize picks, use code CLNS.
49:11You get 50 bucks.
49:13When you play five bucks, you get it instantly.
49:14You don't need a win.
49:15You just need to deposit five bucks and you get 50 on top of it.
49:18So again, it helps us out.
49:19It helps us out.
49:20If you like the page, it helps us out.
49:21If you like the videos and it helps us out a ton.
49:23If you go to prize picks, use that code.
49:26If you're a new customer, go check it out and have some fun
49:30having fun on these games with us this year.
49:32So Taylor, before we close this out, I know we have our preview on Friday with Joe,
49:36but any final thoughts on Patriots Bengals before we, before we wrap it up for the week.
49:42Um, shall we slide?
49:44Let's see.
49:44Let's see what you got, man.
49:45Cause if this does come down to one possession, maybe it's a field goal kind of game,
49:49or maybe the field goals are going to be what makes the difference at one point or another.
49:53We saw last season, how many times Chad Ryland, uh, you know,
49:56RIP in terms of his Patriots career, uh, wasn't able to get them to where they needed to be,
50:01whether it was tying games, winning games, what have you.
50:03So I think that, uh, that, uh, Joey Sly is going to be an underrated contributor
50:08in this game and maybe even a difference maker.
50:10We shall see.
50:11Love it.
50:12All right.
50:12Well, that's going to do it for us here on Patriots daily today.
50:14You have Brian Heinz, Alex Bauer coming up at 6 PM for their Patriots beat preview.
50:19What'd you say?
50:20It was a good time.
50:21Yeah.
50:21Good timing.
50:22It's not bad.
50:22It's like TV, Taylor.
50:23It's kind of like TV over here.
50:25Uh, but that's going to do it.
50:27So make, yeah, make sure to, uh, make sure to stay on the channel.
50:30If you want some more, uh, it's not going to be a full crossover,
50:32but you can get right into Brian and Alex on Patriot feet.
50:36So, uh, Pats versus Bengals on Sunday.
50:37Going to be a good one.
50:38Potential upset for the Pats.
50:40We're going to have a pregame show and a post game show.
50:42So make sure you stay locked on the channel.
50:44Rate review, subscribe, do the whole thing.
50:46Check out our work at clnsmedia.com and until Sunday or Friday rather, but until next time,
50:51take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and we will see you soon.
50:54Peace out, y'all.
50:55Thanks for watching.
