00:00Persatu President Muhyiddin Yassin has urged party members to remain steadfast in facing

00:08dirty, undemocratic and unconstitutional politics played by their rivals.

00:15In a statement in conjunction with Persatu's 8th anniversary, Muhyiddin said the party's

00:20foundation is now being openly threatened.

00:24He said Persatu's efforts to defend the rights of Malays, Buhi Putras and the position of

00:29Islam without infringing upon the rights of others as enshrined in the federal constitution

00:35are being framed as crimes relating to race, religion and royalty.

00:41Muhyiddin also claimed that the current government, which once championed the rights and freedoms

00:45of the people while in opposition, is now using instruments of the law and government

00:51institutions to suppress political opponents solely for political gain.

00:56Muhyiddin, a former prime minister, claimed trial at the Sessions Court last month to

01:01a charge of making seditious remarks at a charama in the run-up to the Ninggeri by-election.

01:08Last week, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission raided YTL Communications' Senyuan Berhad's

01:13office in Kuala Lumpur as part of an investigation into the now-defunct RM4 billion One Bestari

01:20Net project.

01:21In 2011, YTL Communications was awarded the One Bestari Net project, which was initiated

01:27by Muhyiddin when he was education minister.
