00:00The KOJC leader, Pastor Apolo Quibuloy, and his followers are now facing the Senate hearing.

00:08The PNP says that Quibuloy is using the phrase,

00:11Angels of Death, to scare members who are protesting.

00:16Allegations were denied by Quibuloy.

00:18This is Daniel Manalastas' report.

00:23Pastor Apolo Quibuloy is facing the so-called victims of abuse,

00:27trafficking, and other allegations in his first appearance in the Senate hearing.

00:32The first person to confront Quibuloy was Teresita Valdueza,

00:37and all the vicious women that he brought to the religious leader.

00:41Without a word, after turning off the light,

00:44he embraced me, undressed me, and violated me with his lustful act,

00:48and left me in shock and speechless.

00:51He then said,

00:52This is the fulfillment of God's revelation.

00:54Valdueza was a former member of Quibuloy's church,

00:58and he also initiated the Umanoy quota system for the protest.

01:02We recruited and trafficked our young people from Mindanao and Visayas

01:07to carol in the provinces of Luzon and in the National Capital Region cities.

01:11Another Umanoy victim survivor was Joar Martinet Olimba.

01:16What he told us, through calling,

01:19he hooked us up, he told us,

01:22All of you, what you are going to do is to bang your heads against the wall.

01:28You will not stop until you stop.

01:31We did not fight back.

01:33They also brought chilies,

01:37and they put them in our eyes,

01:41mouth, and our whole body.

01:43Aside from the abuse,

01:45there were also allegations that the PNP removed them

01:47up to Quibuloy's intention to imitate a character in the Bible.

01:52The PNP believed that many victims of Umanoy were Quibuloy.

01:55Through his preaching with the inner pastoralist,

01:58per narrative of the former pastorals,

02:01Quibuloy aimed to acquire 1,000 women

02:03and anchored on the biblical story of Solomon,

02:07King of Israel, who had 700 wives and 300 concubines.

02:11The PNP said that Quibuloy used the so-called Umanoy Angels of Death,

02:16and that he used them to scare the members of the congregation.

02:19Another witness, who was in front of the PNP,

02:21said that he heard the Umanoy Angels of Death's allegations.

02:25Yes, they told us that it was Simon.

02:30But he said that the pastor was angry with Jarrug

02:36because he did not want to sell his land there.

02:39Does Quibuloy really order the killing?

02:42Maybe he is just a man, he does not know?

02:44If it were me, I would not do it if I was not ordered from above.

02:49Who are we?

02:50We would just be angry with a worker,

02:52with a person who is against the ministry,

02:56who went out, just angry.

02:58But if he ordered us to do it,

03:01we will really do it.

03:02Quibuloy was allowed to speak in the hearing,

03:05and he denied some allegations against him.

03:08Did you sexually abuse women and minors?

03:13There is no truth to what they are saying.

03:17But in my opinion, it is the opposite.

03:20But I am challenging them to file a case

03:25because these are criminal allegations.

03:29And for this to be fair,

03:33they will have to file a case.

03:36Even the police of Pagpapalimos denied Quibuloy.

03:39We do not have a policy to let a child go.

03:45But even if there is no police, did you let them go?

03:48No, there is no truth to that.

03:51Did you allow abuse and torture to your members?

03:56The law of punishment is not the policy of the Kingdom.

04:04The pastor also denied the allegations of the private army

04:07and the angels of death.

04:09The hearing of the committee led by Senator Riza Hontiveros is adjourned.

04:13They are expected to form a committee report

04:15for their recommendations.
