00:00Hello considerably colder couple of days to come through the middle part of this week should warm up a little bit by the weekend
00:06But before then colder Arctic air will arrive through Monday night and into Tuesday
00:12It's actually been a fairly fine day for many Western areas on Monday
00:16That's because high pressure has not been too far away still feeling fairly warm in the sunshine through Monday
00:21But as this cold Arctic air dives down from the north through Monday night
00:25It will turn much colder and this weather front will push that colder air in and where that weather front lies through Tuesday morning
00:32It will bring a spell of wet weather to northern areas first thing then central areas around lunchtime into the south by the evening
00:39And behind it a mix of sunny spells and blustery showers
00:42I think the showers will be quite frequent across northern areas of Scotland in particular parts of Northern Ireland
00:48But most frequently across the Northern Isles of Scotland
00:52That's where there is a rain warning in force and the winds will actually be very strong across north eastern areas of Scotland
00:58We could see 50 miles per hour or so
01:00So that will bring considerably chillier feel perhaps some localized impacts to northeastern areas of Scotland
01:05We're exposed to this northwesterly winds even across parts of Northwest England
01:10Temperatures will feel a good degrees low a good few degrees lower than this
01:13But in the south ahead of this weather front, it will stay quite cloudy through the day
01:17But it won't be especially cold just yet
01:20But that weather front will continue its journey southwards through Tuesday night and into Wednesday
01:25And once it does clear through all of the UK will be in this colder Arctic air for Wednesday
01:30It's a more of a northerly wind through Wednesday. So showers will be most frequent across the north coast of
01:36Scotland but also continuing across northwestern areas of England as well and we'll start to see some of those showers developing inland as well
01:43So through the morning showers are most likely across coastal areas
01:46But as we head into the afternoon on Wednesday
01:48They could break out just about anywhere and they do bring a risk of hail
01:53Lightning as well as some thunder too and possibly some snow actually over the high ground in
01:59Northern areas of Scotland could be the first snow we've seen since June if we do start to see some snow through this week
02:04So but still another cold feeling day Wednesday is probably going to be the coldest feeling day of the week
02:10These are the actual temperatures and maximum temperatures on Wednesday afternoon
02:13But it will be feeling much closer to single figures particularly in the north and the northwest
02:18Where we're more exposed to that stronger breeze now low pressures moving out of the way on
02:23Wednesday up to the north of the UK and we get more of a northerly north easterly wind direction
02:29Developing but we still got this cold Arctic air with us
02:32It's going to be another cold day on Thursday
02:34But there will be some sunshine around as similar to what we will have had on Wednesday particularly across eastern areas and southern areas
02:40As we head into the afternoon showers will start to bubble up and break out in a few more areas in land
02:46they'll be most frequent more across eastern coasts of northern England and parts of Scotland through Thursday and
02:53Continue to bring a risk of hail and lightning too
02:56And it will be another fairly chilly feeling day now as it's a north easterly wind
03:01It will feel a little bit warmer across more south and western areas where a little bit more protected
03:05But across the east coast quite a cold feeling day on Thursday
03:09now a subtle change does come by the end of the week and actually high pressure builds in for a time the winds will become
03:15Much lighter as well. We start to pick up more of a westerly wind direction
03:20But there is a weather front waiting in the wings to bring it further wet weather to the far north and west
03:24But before then another chilly start to the day on Friday plenty of sunshine around though
03:29And it will feel much warmer in that sunshine and we'll as we will have lighter winds
03:34So temperatures climbing towards the mid possibly higher teens across southern areas where we see that more long-lived sheltered sunshine
03:41But across the northwest the spell of more persistent rain to come across parts of Northern Ireland the Western Isles of Scotland in particular
03:47As well as parts of the Highlands through Friday
03:50And that theme is going to continue as we head into the weekend as well
03:54Wesley winds dominating still so a warmer weekend to come but further wet weather to push into the north and west
04:00High pressure holding on to that dry weather at least through Saturday that could change as we head towards Sunday
04:06But you can find out more details on your full week of forecast as well as the weekend on all our latest
