00:00In a hearing held in the Senate earlier, the Department of Health stated that they have already made an MPACS National Action Plan

00:08that will control the transmission of the disease and will keep the mortality rate in the country at zero.

00:14Noel Talacay reported.

00:16There is no lockdown that will be implemented in the country because of monkeypox or MPOCS.

00:24This was expressed by Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo of the Department of Health

00:29in a hearing held earlier in the Senate of the Committee on Health and Demography and Finance Committee.

00:36Domingo explained that MPACS cannot be obtained by air,

00:40but by direct or skin-to-skin contact, the transmission of the disease.

00:46It can be seen on the skin.

00:48He confirmed that of the 14 cases of MPACS in the country today,

00:53all of them are at home recuperating.

00:57We do not require hospitalization for MPACS.

01:00They do not need to breathe.

01:02They do not need to go to the ICU.

01:04They do not need a face shield.

01:05They do not require a face mask.

01:07As long as they are in home isolation at home.

01:10MPACS Task Force led by DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa

01:19and included various medical experts of the agency.

01:27in planning, surveillance, clinical and public health,

01:30biologics, finance, logistics, and risk communication and behavioral change.

01:36MPACS National Action Plan was also established

01:41with the aim of controlling the transmission

01:44and maintaining zero mortality in the country.

02:02PhilHealth is now studying how MPACS can be included in their health package.

02:09Domingo has promised that DOH will respond to MPACS testing

02:14under the Medical Assistance to Indigenous and Financially Incapacitated Patients

02:20or MAEFIP program.

02:22MPACS testing is now free in our DOH hospitals

02:26because it is answered by MAEFIP, by DOH.

02:30While PhilHealth is studying how to make a testing package.

02:35DOH has also issued guidelines and policies

02:39for prevention and management against MPACS.

02:42This includes what is right to do to the person who is positive for MPACS.

02:49According to the latest data from the Department of Health,

02:52there are already 14 cases of MPACS in the country this year.

02:57This means that according to the government,

03:00they can quickly detect the infected person

03:03that is why they can immediately provide medical assistance

03:07and stop the spread of the disease.
