00:00In Venezuela, the President Nicolas Maduro said that fascist and extremism sectors want
00:16to impose themselves with the aim of attacking not only chavismo, but all democratic and
00:20independent movements in the world.
00:24In Mexico, the Senate approved on Wednesday the judicial reform promoted by President
00:28Andrés Manuel López Obrador after sabotage attempts sponsored by right-wing groups.
00:33And in the United States, the presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris
00:38participate in the first presidential debate ahead of the elections on November 5th.
00:48Hello welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from the Lesotho studios in Havana,
00:52Cuba.
00:53We begin with the news.
00:54In Venezuela, the President Nicolas Maduro said that fascist and extremist sectors want
00:58to impose themselves with the aim of attacking not only chavismo, but all democratic and
01:02independent movements in the world.
01:03During the plenarization of the Federal Government Council, the Venezuelan president condemned
01:07the attempts to lead the country into a civil war.
01:10On the other hand, the Venezuelan executive stated that the Spanish government has welcomed
01:14its capital fugitives from national justice and other characters involved in destabilizing
01:18and criminal acts, thus becoming a reference of neo-fascism in the old continent.
01:28We have never broken the rules, nor we will accept that anyone breaks the rules, neither
01:37in Venezuela nor in Madrid.
01:40Look at the book that Ernesto Villegas gave me, look.
01:51I have a book by an intellectual called Pablo del Hierro, professor at the Complutense University.
01:56I don't know him.
01:58He sends it to me already studied and marked.
02:01Madrid, metropolis neo-fascista, vidas secretas, rutas de escape, negocios oscuros y violencia
02:05polĂtica.
02:06Translated as Madrid, metropolis neo-fascist, secret lives, scapegoats, shady business and
02:11political violence.
02:13Because Madrid, since the time of Franco, was transformed into what we could say the
02:17ink of fascism, in Europe and in the world.
02:28And today, it has become the receptacle of how many terrorists, corrupts and fascists
02:31there are in Venezuela, who flee to Madrid.
02:35There is the vampire.
02:36We all know the vampire.
02:37If in Venezuela there is the sayona, there is the vampire.
02:52There is a mentally ill man who participates in all the conspiracies to put bombs to kill
02:57and to attack.
02:59Leopoldo Lopez, a sociopath.
03:01No one recognized his hiding, the one who publicly, notoriously and communicatively,
03:07was responsible for spraying gasoline and killing our boy, dead in Altamira in Chacao,
03:12Orlando Figuera.
03:23There he is requested by the courts of Venezuela, public, how many more fascists?
03:29And it seems that fascism has the political power to subdue, twist arms and keep Madrid
03:34as the neo-fascist metropolis of Europe.
03:37Since the Franco is nested in Madrid, that is why I say, we played fair, let's keep
03:52playing fair to Venezuela.
04:01In Venezuela, human rights activist and defender, Michelle Madere, participated in the World
04:06Congress against Neo-fascism and other similar activities held in La Carlota, where representatives
04:11from more than 95 countries shared common ground on an issue that puts the whole world
04:15at risk.
04:21I knew I had a father, but I never saw him.
04:24And I learned in school, when I was very little, I was 3 years old, 3 and a half years old,
04:30and a little girl told me that my father had died in a crematorium oven.
04:34And I didn't know what a crematorium oven was.
04:38And when I got home, I asked my mother what crematorium oven meant.
04:42And I didn't get an answer, so I grew up with the idea that I had a father who had died
04:46in a crematorium oven.
04:49And I stayed for years with that idea.
04:51I would watch my mother prepare packages to send to someone.
04:56And I assumed, she was sending packages to my father.
05:00And packages that, later on, I know never arrived.
05:03I had to learn what fascism was, precisely in order to learn to continue my life.
05:08To grow up in this period of the Second World War with a lot of what was not said, a lot
05:12of silence.
05:16In other news, in Colombia, at least 10 people were injured, one of them seriously, after
05:20a grenade exploded outside a police station in Bogota.
05:23Local authorities are investigating the incident, which raised community concerns about security
05:28in the capital.
05:29The explosion occurred at a time of increasing violence in the country, with armed groups
05:33stepping up their attacks.
05:35Police have tightened security in the area and are on high alert.
05:38This attack adds to a series of recent incidents that have affected security forces in Colombia,
05:42prompting authorities to redouble efforts to combat crime and restore public confidence.
05:48Investigations continue to determine the perpetrators of this violent act.
05:55And in Mexico, the judicial reform was approved in general in the Senate after a long session
06:00in which Morena achieved a qualified majority.
06:03The final vote was 86 votes in favor and 41 against, and included a violent reaction from
06:07the pan-opposition, which tried at various times to stop the discussion.
06:12These promoters described the reform as historical, claiming it aims to guarantee that every person
06:17has real access to justice through a profound change in the organization and integration
06:21of the various bodies that make up the federal judicial power and the local judicial powers.
06:27Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña announced the approval as the long session came to an
06:31end.
06:38According to the vote count, a total of 127 votes were cast, of which 86 were in favor,
06:4441 against and zero abstentions, thus meeting the qualified majority required for the approval
06:50of the decree.
06:55There is a qualified majority, therefore it is approved in general and in everything not
06:59reserved of the draft decree amending, adding, and revoking various provisions of the political
07:04constitution of the 11 Mexican states in matters of reform of the judiciary.
07:24The Mexican National Water Commission report that Tropical Storm Francine became a Category
07:281 hurricane after passing through the Gulf of Mexico.
07:31National authorities say it is important for population and maritime navigation to
07:35heed the warnings of the Meteorological Service, although the weather event is moving away
07:38from the territory.
07:40The National Hurricane Center reported that the now Category 1 hurricane is heading towards
07:44Louisiana, with winds of up to 120 km per hour.
07:48Francine is expected to continue strengthening until it makes landfall this Wednesday.
07:53The projected path includes areas of New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama.
08:02The Vietnamese Department of Dive Management and Disaster Prevention and Control reported
08:07at least 143 deaths and 58 others are missing following the passage of Typhoon Yagi.
08:13The most hit areas are Yen Pai, Cao Ban and Lao Cai localities, while the Bao Yen district's
08:18severe landslide has been recorded.
08:20The Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Lao Cai and other senior government authorities
08:25are directly in charge of leading the search and rescue efforts.
08:29Meanwhile, the Central Community of the Vietnam Fatherland Front launched a campaign to support
08:33the victims of Typhoon Yagi.

08:59Welcome back.
09:13In the United States, the first and possibly only debate between the presidential candidates
09:16Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris took place on Tuesday as thousands
09:20of citizens took to the streets of Philadelphia, the city that hosted the face-to-face debate.
09:29The first presidential debate between the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and the
09:33former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump took place this Tuesday, September 10.
09:40It lasted 90 minutes and focused on issues such as migration and abortion.
09:46Trump said that Biden let dangerous people into the country and said that migrants come
09:51from asylums and prisons and that they eat cats and dogs in border cities.
09:56Democrat candidate Harris introduced a bill and recalled that she has added 1,500 border
10:03agents which has allowed her to stop the flow of fentanyl coming into the United States.
10:10Vice President Kamala Harris also said that Donald Trump left them the worst unemployment
10:15rate since the Great Depression, the worst epidemic in public health in a century and
10:21the worst attack on democracy since the Civil War, and said that she and Biden have been tasked
10:27with cleaning up Trump's mess. She also recalled that Trump has been processed for national
10:33security and economic crimes. Regarding abortion, Kamala Harris said that more than 20 states have
10:40bans on abortion imposed by Donald Trump, with no exceptions for rape or incest. She said that
10:47Donald Trump should not tell a woman what to do with her body. She also mocked Trump, a very tense
10:53moment in the debate, because she said that people get bored and leave his campaigns because he always
10:59says the same thing. About the events in the Capitol on January 6th, she said that Donald
11:07Trump incited a mob to storm the Capitol and that she as a senator and vice president saw it all
11:14because she was there. Something that made the former president very angry was the fact that
11:20Kamala claimed that many world leaders who have met with her openly mock Trump. Kamala alleged
11:27that Trump can be manipulated with flattery and some leaders have done so. The former U.S. president
11:33says that the U.S. spends millions of dollars in Ukraine. He said that $250 billion or more
11:42and said that it would be in the U.S. interest to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
11:50On the other hand, Kamala said that Donald Trump is weak and wrong and that he wants to be a
11:55dictator. On the other hand, Trump said that Kamala is a Marxist. In short, they have very different
12:02and even antagonistic positions expressed in 90 minutes. It is likely that there will be another
12:10debate between the candidates, but nothing certain yet.
12:20Moving on to other news, the Israeli forces keep up the siege against the Palestinian
12:24civilian population. In the past couple of hours, they have slaughtered over 27 Gazans.
12:29While the U.S. presidential nominees ratified their support for Israel's right to defense,
12:34as the U.S. is the main partner in the genocide operation of the Sunni regime against Palestine,
12:38on Wednesday, the Israeli troops have been dropping bombs on a residential building in
12:41Hanjounis, claiming 13 lives. Meanwhile, the army killed a fisherman nearby al-Mawassi,
12:47and minutes later, the Israeli forces attacked the Jabaila refugee camp, leaving nine dead,
12:51including three children and two women. The Israeli army further mounted an incursion into
12:56an apartment building in Nusrat Gaza's downtown, bringing about four fatal victims and 11 injured.
13:02In this context, the United Nations Secretary-General's spokesperson,
13:07Stefan Tzadjarik, said that the U.N. condemns the attack perpetrated by the Israeli army in
13:11Hanjounis refugee camp in Gaza. Tzadjarik assured that the Secretary-General considers unacceptable
13:17the use of weapons in populated areas. The spokesman reiterated that there is currently
13:21no safe place in Gaza and appealed on behalf of the agency for an immediate ceasefire.
13:27According to health authorities, occupation forces have killed nearly 41,000 Palestinians
13:32since last October. We now have a second short break coming up, but before we invite you to

14:07Welcome back. The alleged sonic attacks against U.S. diplomats and spies in Cuba,
14:19also known as Havana Syndrome, made headlines around the world. However, many questions remain
14:24unanswered. What exactly was intended? What is behind the unexplained illness? What were
14:28the consequences of the whole story? In Havana, experts on the subject talked to TV star Fabiola
14:32Lopez with the details. A little more than a week ago, several media revealed that the CIA
14:41used coercion against people who were part of the investigation of the so-called Havana Syndrome.
14:46The cancellation of the investigations of the alleged sonic attacks made the news,
14:51but not a word to mention the damage caused by the mysterious disease to the Cuban people,
14:56which, in the opinion of this expert, has had to pay a great cost.
15:00In terms of political dialogue, but also on the family and personal level,
15:06since the closing of the diplomatic headquarters in Havana and forcing the ordinary Cuban citizen
15:12to go to a third country in order to obtain a visa and cutting off the flow of academic
15:17and scientific exchanges has rendered the diplomatic headquarters in Havana inoperative.
15:22Even today, there is still no compensation, no restitution to the Cuban people for what
15:27they have had from the moral point of view in intangible matters. And from the practical
15:31point of view, it would be impossible to quantify the losses caused by all this eagerness to keep
15:36Cuba on the list of terrorist countries. The blockade remains. The sanctions are used,
15:41the punitive instruments, the unilateral coercive measures that all have the purpose of breaking
15:46the revolution. The sanctions are used, the unilateral coercive measures that all have
15:51the purpose of breaking the revolution. An interesting view on the subject has the
16:00authorized voice of journalist Raul Antonio Capote, who worked for the CIA as an infiltrator
16:06of the Cuban state security. He associates the coercion of the United States intelligence
16:11services to the participants in the research on the so-called Havana syndrome with MK Ultra,
16:16the Dan Tusk experiment of the CIA to control the human mind.
16:23Everyone kept repeating that this was the first time that they had ever failed,
16:27that they had failed in their ethics. Which is totally untrue if we could give hundreds of
16:32examples of how many times in the history of the US special services situations like this have
16:38occurred. And one example is MK Ultra is a CIA project that began in 1953, in which experiments
16:46were made with people of various types, prisoners, students, psychiatric patients,
16:51even CIA personnel were subjected to these experiments because they were obsessed with
16:56mind control. They said that the next war was going to be fought in the realm of the mind
17:00and that whoever controlled the mind would be able to win this new war scenario.
17:09Specialists from the United States, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom,
17:15China, Russia and Cuba agree that the coined term Havana syndrome is a media fabrication and
17:22the accusations do not stand up to serious scientific analysis, yet the subject continues
17:27to be discussed. The deputy director of the United States Directorate of the Cuban Foreign
17:32Ministry explains why on the island's local television station. In an election year,
17:39they are trying to keep this issue alive by obtaining promises of compensation from the
17:44supposed victims of the non-existent attacks and with the purpose of taking advantage of the
17:48existence of a law invented by Senator Marco Rubio to compensate the victims and keep the issue alive
17:55and also to justify new measures against Cuba. In a future government, if this or any other
18:00candidate wins, so that the sanctions and the coercive measures against our country are not
18:05lifted, that is what is happening. What is still pending, warns this diplomat,
18:13is an apology to the people of Cuba for which it is necessary, she says, to continue demanding
18:19the lifting of the whole spiral of unilateral coercive measures and maximum pressure that,
18:25with the initial excuse that Cuba had assaulted United States diplomats,
18:30were taken against the Cuban and American people.
18:35And the first edition of MIRA Art Fair comes to Paris from September 18th to the 22nd at the
18:51Maison de l'Amérique Latin. The MIRA Art Fair represents a significant advance in the dissemination
18:57of contemporary Latin American art, presenting an outstanding selection of emerging and established
19:01artists from the region. The fair showcases diverse art forms, including paintings, sculptures,
19:06video art and installations reflecting the complexity and diversity of Latin American
19:11identity. In a global environment that demands more visibility for the region's voices,
19:16this event establishes itself as a crucial point for cultural dialogue and the connection
19:21between creators and international audiences interested in new narratives and aesthetics.
