00:00Plans to convert a derelict former pub in Otley into two homes have been approved.
00:08The historic 19th century Manor House Hotel on Walkergate in Otley will be given a new lease of
00:14life by Carlton Homes Development Ltd. Their plans to transform the Grade II listed building
00:19have been approved by Leeds City Council after the venue ceased trading as a pub in 2022.
00:25Having bought the building from Thwaites Brewery in October 2023,
00:29the new owners said in the application that the building has not been lived in since
00:33and is not currently habitable due to neglect over several years.
00:37Extensive deterioration has resulted in a leaking roof,
00:40ceiling and wall damage and damp in the cellar. They're aiming to restore the
00:44mid-terrace property back into use as a three-bed home and a four-bed property,
00:48both of which will keep their original fireplaces and staircases.
00:52Two separate gardens will also be constructed in the south-facing yard.
