00:00Senators together with the chief of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation or PAGCOR earlier inspected an establishment to try to understand how it operates
00:08and know how different it is from Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGOs.
00:13Meanwhile, a lawmaker divulged the name of a person which she believes might be the big boss of POGOs in the country.
00:19Daniel Manalastas has the full details.
00:22The PAGCOR along with some senators led the inspection of special class BPOs located in Asiana.
00:31PAGCOR Chairperson Al Tengco was there, together with Senate Committee on Games and Amusement Chairperson Mark Villar and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.
00:41The aim of the inspection is to see the operations of the SE BPO up close and understand its difference from POGOs,
00:50which are set for a total shutdown by the end of the year.
00:54Senator Mark Villar assured Filipinos in the BPO industry won't be affected by the POGO ban.
01:01I just want to reassure everyone here that we will do everything in our power to make sure that our fellow Filipinos will not lose their jobs.
01:08We really want to get rid of the illegals. We will do everything to get rid of the illegal POGOs.
01:14At the same time, I just want everyone to know that we are here to protect the jobs of our fellow Filipinos.
01:22Meanwhile, Senator Joel Villanueva floated a name which she believes to be a big boss of POGOs in the country.
01:30For me, that Duanren Wu is the most notorious. Remember, he's a former police officer in China.
01:40Duanren Wu is the one who went against them and filed a case in Batam, Indonesia, Jakarta and Singapore.
01:52He's the one who has a lot of military personnel. For me, he's the one who most likely is involved in torture and kidnapping.
02:07The one you believe to be the big boss of POGOs in the country is Duanren Wu.
02:12I believe. I believe so. He's the one running the show as far as being a notorious group here in the Philippines. He's the big boss they're afraid of.
02:32Meanwhile, in light of the continuing Senate hearings on POGO issues and controversial dismissal of Mayor Alice Guo,
02:38her case has now been transferred to Valenzuela Court from a court in Capas, Tarlac.
02:44Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino has insisted and argued that Capas Court has no jurisdiction over the case.
02:52We are right in saying that Capas-Tarlac's jurisdiction is wrong.
02:58For Alice Guo to have no influence in Tarlac Regional Trial Court, she should be transferred to the Regional Trial Court of Valenzuela.
03:08If the jurisdiction of the court is wrong in a criminal case, everything will be wrong.
03:16Even if the warrant of arrest is issued, it is invalid because the court has no jurisdiction.
03:23Supreme Court Spokesperson Atty. Camille Ting said there was no request to transfer the venue of Alice Guo's case from Capas RTC to Valenzuela RTC,
03:34and said the transfer was made pursuant to OCA Circular No. 1024.
03:40Daniel Manalastas from the National TV, for a new and better Philippines.
